The Courageous Heart of Molly Morey: Molly leaned on dancing to get by after ending the relationship with her oldest child's father and discovered that she truly loved it. As a young and newly-sober mother, the opportunity to get paid to doll up and socialize was invaluable to her mental health and self esteem. Sadly, a lack of worker protections from predatory male management ran her out of the industry. Today Molly and I talk about her fond memories from that now-former life, her sadness that some scumbag sucked the wind out of her sails, and how she found meaning and joy again in harm reduction, specializing in outreach to street-based sex workers at her hometown syringe echange. Today's episode was produced by me, Blair Hopkins, and brought to you in part by SWOP-Behind Bars. Music by New Orleans' own Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. And we're...well, we're still doing the podcast. Today Molly joins us to talk about moral outrage in the age of social media. Has the outrage changed now that we express so much of it online? Does it contribute to polarization and social division, or give a voice to the less powerful? How can we harness the benefits of online outrage while minimizing the costs? Plus, Dave and Tamler perform an exorcism on the unholy offspring of evolutionary psychology and trolleyology. Special Guest: Molly Crockett.
