What does courage really look like for a quiet leader? In this first episode of The Power of a Courageous Heart, Jilann explores a different definition of courage; one that isn't loud, fearless, or attention-seeking. Instead, courage is often found in the quiet, everyday choices to take the next faithful step, even when uncertainty and fear are still present. If you've ever felt like you're waiting until you're more confident, more prepared, or less afraid before moving forward, this episode offers a fresh perspective on what it truly means to lead with courage.Drawing on Enneagram wisdom, Jilann explains how different personality styles experience courage in unique ways and why comparing your journey to someone else's can keep you stuck. In this episode, you'll learn:Why courage isn't the absence of fearHow quiet leaders often underestimate their own courageHow the Enneagram helps us understand different expressions of courageWhy confidence often comes after taking the first stepPractical reflection questions to help you identify your next courageous stepHow a courageous heart grows one faithful decision at a timeWhether you're facing a difficult conversation, considering a new opportunity, navigating uncertainty, or simply longing to lead with greater confidence, this episode will encourage you to stop waiting for fear to disappear and begin taking the next step with quiet strength.Plus, learn more about the Quiet Strength Gathering, a monthly online community where thoughtful leaders connect, reflect, and grow together. Keywords: quiet leadership, courage, courageous leadership, Enneagram, Enneagram coaching, personal growth, confidence, overcoming fear, self-awareness, leadership development, emotional resilience, quiet confidence, women leaders, authentic leadership, Strength in Numbers podcast.
Have you ever felt trapped between doing what's easy and doing what's right? Or so worn down by grief that hope feels out of reach? In this message, we walk through Psalm 31, and three conditions of the heart David describes; cornered, crushed, and courageous. Each one is an invitation to run toward the marvelous light of God's love, even when everything feels dark. The courage is already in you. It was put there by the One who loves you.
In a recent conversation on Tami Simon's podcast Insights at the Edge, Tara and Tami reflected on themes from The Courageous Heart Workbook: Choosing to Love in Perilous Times. As many know, Tami is an exceptional interviewer, and the dialogue opened into questions that feel deeply relevant for these times. What does it mean to be bodhisattvas—to be awakening beings and caring beings—in a world marked by uncertainty and division? What is being asked of us now? The conversation touched on the deeper meaning of courage, the relationship between spiritual practice and engagement with the world, and the ways spirituality can sometimes become a means of avoiding what most needs our attention and care. It also explored how we can actively choose love, recognize our shared basic goodness, and shift from the busyness of the mind into a more awake and connected heart. It was a rich and heartfelt exploration, offering reflections and practices to support a more open, courageous, and engaged way of being in our world. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Military correspondent Emanuel Fabian joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. Impromptu gatherings across Israel last night marked the first time in over 11 years without hostages being held in Gaza, following the return of Ran Gvili’s body to Israel. For more than 50 days, he was the only hostage still held in Gaza, amid Hamas’s insistence that it had been unable to locate him, leaving his family and country fearful he might never be recovered. In today's episode, Fabian takes us through Operation Courageous Heart and its massive team of soldiers and forensics experts, which successfully recovered Gvili's remains after checking over 250 bodies in a Gazan cemetery. Hello Dears! Happy Friday! I decided to do a little mini series of solo episodes as a follow up the episode of The Never Ending Story and Releasing Fear. To provide an offering for how to begin awakening our loving, trusting selves. And it starts with the heart. Inspired by the wonderful book by Dana Quade, Doing The Thing: How Finding Your Shine Will Brighten Our World I share what she refers to as the 4 chambers of the heart and will be covering each chamber in this mini series. On this episode I talk about the FOURTH chamber of the heart which allows us to stick to our convictions, The COURAGEOUS Heart. I share the importance of having a COURAGEOUS heart which is that of your brave soul, it endows you with the ability to say NO when you must and stick up for what you believe in. It is the heart of self love that no one can fully self-love without. The fiery heart that acts on feelings that are true to the spirit.Doing The Thing: How Finding Your Shine Will Brighten Our World, By Dana Quade, https://www.amazon.com/Doing-Thing-Dana-Quade/dp/0692001689Donations To Women Waken To Support The Show Are Greatly Appreciated

My dear friend, I wanted to check in with you today and ask — How's your heart? Does the question have you take a deep breath and smile, thinking about all the good and gratitude you feel in life? Or maybe the question sent you into tears because your personal life has so much going on that you can't even think about the big picture of what's happening in the world, but that tears you up inside too. I get you, and yes, to all of it. Some days my heart is alive with all that I am doing. On other days, My heart is heavy. Closed off. Silent. So how do we live a courageous heart in the midst of it all? I'll share with you what I've learned in today's episode. How many times have you thought I am not good enough, strong enough, tough enough or basically I am not enough? That is one of our basic core common fears. As I have coached many women over the years, I have noticed how so many of us think this, but we feel like we are the only ones who think this. I share a few different experiences in my life, where I had the choice to choose to be courageous and have a warrior's heart or go so easily to my core fear of not being strong enough. Although it hasn't been until the last few years that I realize I had a choice on how I want to respond to different experiences.Through the different experiences, once I have learned to drop my ego on thinking I should be strong enough, I found my strength though getting a stronger and braver heart.
