In this episode, Erika covers the murder of Candace Hiltz. Candace  was a girl who could not be manipulated.  She was passionate about standing up to bullies and would not back down.  She had a particular soft spot for one of her many older brothers James.  James was diagnosed with severe paranoia. She loved him and would do anything to protect him.  Candace was a child prodigy, who at the age of 17 was on her 3yrd year at BYU and had big dreams of someday being a Supreme Court Justice.  Her dreams would tragically be cut short after she was mysteriously murdered.  Could it have been her ex, or her brother, or could it have been the cop who kept evidence from her case in a storage unit for years. People from the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community have been targeted since the start of the pandemic, and the violence in Atlanta appeared to set off additional incidents of racism here and elsewhere that have left people feeling vulnerable and marginalized.   Stop AAPI Hate, a national coalition tracking cases of violence and discrimination, reported 3,800 racist incidents in the past year, ranging from verbal harassment to physical assault. The Minnesota Department of Human Rights has also been tracking an uptick in anti-Asian incidents since the start of the pandemic. But this community has endured the effects of racism since long before COVID-19.  What’s being done in Minnesota to stop it, and what more needs to be done? How can we be better allies to our Asian American neighbors, some of whom are afraid to venture out? What have we learned about the ripple effects of political rhetoric? (Updated: April 9, 3:05 p.m.) Henrico County has moved into Phase 2 of the COVID-19 vaccination process, meaning that all residents 16 and older are now eligible to be vaccinated. People who pre-registered will begin receiving calls and emails as soon as today for appointments next week, according to health officials. In Henrico and Richmond, about 40,000 people were pre-registered in Phase 2 as of Friday, according to Richmond and Henrico Health Districts Nurse Manager Amy Popovich, who said that the RHHD was contacting about 7,000 of them today to offer vaccination appointments next week. When leaks of major plot points, screenshots, and cinematic cut-scenes from the much anticipated Sony/Naughty Dog exclusive "Last of Us Part II" started being disseminated early there could be little doubt that Sony would take some kind of drastic legal action, but...
