As you will plainly hear, Rebels, this was a fun show. Jenna is every bit the bundle of energy that you see in the promo videos for her website. And what a talented lady, I should add, as well! She's clearly led an interesting life, and is a born entertainer.  I love it when a guest can come on the show and just have fun while getting their story across. (But please keep in mind that if you are considering changing the way you eat, PLEASE consult with a medical professional, as this is not a medical podcast, and that I'm presenting the viewpoints and methodologies of my guests. You'll note that Jenna said that she will work with her clients' doctors.) So, have a listen to a fascinating story, and get to know a super-fun lady, whom I hope lands a podcast of her own one day. And if you're in St. Louis, MO, "Walk Like A Man" and catch Jenna and her hubby in the stage production of "Jersey Boys". Well, Rebels, every once in a while, there comes a time when I will air several interviews in 1 episode. Some of you know the reason why, but I'm still trying to figure it out. First up--If you prefer your podcast language to be uncensored and meandering, then check out The Law Offices of Quibble, Squabble, and Bicker. The language and subject matter has been edited to a kind of PG-13 for this show. The guys ket counting every time an f-bomb went off, and there were quite a few. And that was me, just trying to get the recording to work properly! Afterwards, I chatted with Squidz Killinit, a podcaster/dj/photographer in Wyoming, who hosts the podcast "Next 2 The Lamp". (Hey, it's a wide open state, with a lot of work to be done.) Two very different styles on display this week, and the good news is none of them tried to sell me a timeshare. Party Peoplllllllllllleeee!!!! Sorry, I can't do in writing what DC does on a recording. I might sound better with "Viva La Sherpalution!", but I'm one of the few who say it. And it's usually in the bank. Don't ask. Long story. Remember a while back, when I interviewed Australian supermodel Jasmin Shojai? (You don't??! Then head on to my website and listen to it....after you hear this episode.) The whole time, I was so impressed at how driven she was. I got the same feeling speaking with DC. As you'll hear in the interview, having a number one million selling single isn't making him rest on his laurels; but instead, he's expanding his horizons. And I have no doubt that he'll be successful in his next venture. Keep an ryr out on The Brain Supreme, Rebels! My heart broke the morning of June 24, 2021, when I got up and checked the news on Twitter and saw that at 1:15 AM EDT, a 13-story condo, Champlain Towers South, in Surfside, Florida, collapsed. Only one third of the building remained standing. Needless to say, I was in shock. I lived in Miami for 10 years from 1988-98. Around 1990 I lived on South Beach (Miami Beach), before it was hip. It was right on the beach. A 3rd-floor studio with a balcony facing south and overlooking the ocean. I admit, it was awesome! Before that, I lived the beach life in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico for many years. In the picture on my blog, look at the building in the far left. Yes, keep reading in my blog where I have pictures, embedded tweets, maps and links to dig deeper..... Friend, we are NOT guaranteed tomorrow! Are you living with a false sense of salvation? It's time to GET RIGHT WITH GOD! Jesus didn't suffer torture and die so we could have religion! He died so He could have a Relationship with YOU! If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then… Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit. Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. This week we dive into what is often viewed as arcane science by the development community, pricing. Pricing can make or break any product. Everyone in the value chain has to have a good understanding of how pricing decisions are made and how they can impact what should be built and when. One critical part of the conversation focuses on whether there is an ideal pattern for product and development to work together? If not, what are the consequences? Our conversation just skims the surface of Ajit Ghuman's new book Priced to Scale which hit the book stands in April.  Ajit is currently Head of Product Marketing at Narvar, an enterprise-grade customer engagement platform that helps retailers inspire loyalty beyond reason by enabling seamless post-purchase experiences. A SaaS Product Marketing veteran, he has helped companies such as Medallia, Helpshift, and Feedzai differentiate their products, grow revenue, and win. Ajit is an expert in software pricing and his upcoming book, Price to Scale, covers an end-to-end approach to packaging and pricing for high-growth technology companies. He is an avid writer and routinely shares his insights as a member of the Forbes Communication Council, the Bizjournals Leadership Trust, and at Sharebird.com. He is an executive member at Revenue Collective, the leading network of commercial leaders working in the fastest-growing companies worldwide.  Web https://ajitghuman.com/pricing-book/ LinkedIn linkedin.com/in/ajitpalghuman Twitter apghuman Re-Read Saturday News  This week we tack the introduction to Monotasking by Staffan Nöteberg.   The introduction is titled The Five Axioms of Monotasking.; Staffan takes us directly into the deep end. As I noted last week, I will take at least one concept/idea for the charter we are reading forward and try to apply it in my life.  As I re-read the introduction, I identified two potential behavior changes based on the five axioms.  They are: Resume doing daily retrospectives (focused on Axiom 5) Quiesce Teams and Slack (focused on Axiom 2) I am going to resume daily retrospectives which I stopped doing early last year as I adjusted my work life after I stopped leaving the house on a daily basis. Option 3 would have the biggest impact but will require more groundwork given expectations of instant availability. This week is a doubleheader (baseball term for two games played by the same teams on the same day against each other). We begin our re-read of  Monotasking by Staffan Nöteberg and we have my interview with Staffan. Several years ago I read Staffan's book on Pomodoro which changed how I work.  Monotasking might be even more useful and impactful.  We discussed how to apply the ideas in the book to improve focus, productivity, and quality of life. Staffan Nöteberg is an enterprise agility coach with years of experience in improving personal productivity. He is also the author of Pomodoro Technique Illustrated (2009) and teaches seminars on monotasking to companies in North America, Europe, and East Asia. Twitter: https://twitter.com/staffannoteberg Website: https://monotasking.staffannoteberg.com/    Re-Read Saturday News  We start our re-read of  Monotasking by Staffan Nöteberg.   The book is 237 pages published by Racehorse Publishing (an imprint of Simon & Schuster) and was released in English on June 1, 2021. For most of the readers of the blog and listeners to the podcast, this will be an initial read.  The book's contents include a Preface, Introduction, 7 numbered chapters, an Afterword, and then other stuff like index and more (we will not cover the other stuff but I am glad for the index and endnotes).   Now the fun part.  Instead of a straight re-read and discussion. Law of Attraction with LOA Today, Your Daily Dose of Happy | Tips & Secrets

Dean and Walt did a psychic experiment over the past week. Each day at 10 AM EDT (9 AM CDT), the two took five minutes to see if they could send/receive stuff to each other psychically. Quite honestly, Walt was dreading today's show because he feared that everything was going to be a complete miss ... but he was wrong about that! Yes, about 80-90% of the stuff we focused on didn't get through, but we got a few hits among all of the misses! On the first day, Walt was wondering if Dean had forgotten that at that time we were supposed to do the experiment. At that same instant, Dean and his wife were discussing what to do with an old grandfather clock in their house, whether it might be time to get rid of it. So time was a definite association between us. Two days later, among the words Walt got were "love" and "heal", which turned out to be quite appropriate because Dean was having a conversation with a friend who is a veteran, and he said those two word described the conversation nicely. The next day, Walt got the word "window", and Dean was dealing with windows. The day after was a Sunday, and Walt was making a big, late breakfast for himself at the designated time. Shortly afterward, Dean found himself hankering for a big old-fashioned breakfast with everything. All-in-all, it was a fun experiment with interesting results. To his amazement, Walt found himself wanting to improve the results by deliberately raising vibration the next time they try an experiment. The two are going to give some thought over the next week as to what that experiment might be.

There are enough people affirming the badness, the worries, the political troubles now.  Enough focus on what's wrong and will continue to be. Let us celebrate the reminders of light. The joy. The positive and hope and good things happening. We're not done yet, and we are always creatively loving our way forward. If we could see this time as a healer, everything changes. How can we let it be just so? If you want to be awake, then stay awake. If you want to be alive then stay in a state of aliveness. The small self might be saying its scary things but the God-self in you knows what's what. We need to practice remembering the fullness of who we truly are.  Let the one in you who needs your compassion and love receive, instead of the repetition of what's bad and wrong.  Our inspiration is a beautiful poem by David Wagoner called Lost And we'll have a letter from #showupforyourself who asks about how to handle the pain from not being seen, witnessed, validated, affirmed by others. Hello to this time of change and transformation. Big shifts are happening in each and every one of us. Big big big. We're shedding the old stories, old versions. Even the friends we'd never believe could change seem to be doing the impossible. It is an exciting time. If you've been feeling tenderly and like you're shedding the old skin, know that you are right on track. This is a cosmic cleansing time. Do you have anyone who's been surprising you? Every person gives you a new opportunity to dance with the divine... the person you're most stressed by, most upset about -- that person is your teacher. How can you do this dance differently now? In this episode, I address how we can allow ourselves to ride with the flow of the Divine. With the love of God, tuning to greater support and love, as we continue to make our way forward.   Our inspiration is to create the sense of sanctuary in your home by intentionally assessing what's inside it.  Our letter comes from #iamthat who asks about awakening the Divine as it comes to issues around body image and self-forgiveness. Now I’m [belatedly] listening to your Pride Month episode, and am once again impressed by your fearlessness to wade into an area that you feel is important enough to deserve your attention and representation while remaining unafraid to admit your ignorance (which, as Mark Twain observed, “can be fixed, unlike stupidity, which is permanent”) by selecting a great co-host both musically and (sub) culturally.  I wish I could do more, but I’m supporting a raft of podcasts, and some folks in my real life neighborhood businesses who are also struggling right now. I can’t fly anymore thanks to radiation treatment a few years back, but your Celtic Invasion Vacations sound wonderful - perhaps one day I can figure out how to travel “across the pond” by boat and join you to enjoy the touring"

This Episode of Flashback Friday was originally published on March 8, 2012 Whether you’re trying to get a raise at your job, solve a relationship problem, or deal with a stubborn child, negotiating is a daily part of our lives, and every human interaction is affected by emotion and logic or rationalization. Jason Hartman interviews Stuart Diamond, the author of "Getting More: How to Negotiate to Achieve Your Goals in the Real World" on improving negotiating skills and interactions with others in order to “get more.” Stuart stresses the importance of making the human connection and finding the pictures in people’s heads, knowing them better in order to better meet their needs, which gives a person a more competitive edge and adds tremendous wealth to any deal. Emotions play a huge part in all interactions. “Emotions destroy negotiations because they distract people from their goals,” says Stuart. When people get emotional, they stop listening, and it becomes a priority to find out a person’s emotional temperature before proceeding on any deal. Stuart talks about key points in how people should treat one another, stating how people today have a lack of trust in one another and have a tendency to demonize one another rather than using simple solutions to solve conflicts. “Fighting is the last choice; not the first choice,” explains Stuart. Stuart Diamond has taught and advised on negotiation and cultural diversity to corporate and government leaders in more than 40 countries, including in Eastern Europe, former Soviet Republics, China, Latin America, the Middle East, Canada, South Africa and the United States. He holds an M.B.A. with honors from Wharton Business School, ranked #1 globally by The Financial Times where he is currently a professor from practice. For more than 90% of the semesters over the past 15 years his negotiation course has been the most popular in the school based on the course auction, and he has won multiple teaching awards. He has taught negotiation at Harvard Law School, from which he holds a law degree and is a former Associate Director of the Harvard Negotiation Project. He has directed a negotiation consulting firm in Cambridge, MA. Mr. Diamond is president of Global Strategy Group, which advises companies and governments on negotiating foreign investment and devising strategies, structures and marketing to compete effectively on an international scale: essentially the skills of planning and persuasion. He advises senior corporate and government officials on building internal coalitions and harmony to be more effective and competitive in an environment of constant change. He has analyzed competitive and persuasive strategies for organizations as different as Merck, Citibank, General Electric, BASF, Prudential, the Government of Colombia, a $16 billion petrochemical company in China and scientists in Ukraine. He advises U.S. and foreign companies on developing more effective communications and media relations, strategic focus, problem-solving, creative options, and persuading vendors and customers. He is an expert in cross-cultural negotiation and has advised on the subject to executives of some of the world's leading companies. He has consulted extensively for the United Nations. In a prior career Mr. Diamond, who also holds a B.A. in English from Rutgers University, was a journalist. He wrote extensively, including at Newsday and The New York Times, where he won the Pulitzer Prize as a part of a team investigating the crash of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986. He covered many major crises including the Bhopal chemical leak in India, the Three Mile Island nuclear accident in Pennsylvania and the Chernobyl nuclear accident in the former Soviet Union. He has written two books, two documentary films and more than 2,000 published articles, dozens on page one of The New York Times. He has appeared on Today and Good Morning America and lectured widely about the problems and prospects of emerging markets, and international business challenges in an environment of change. His new book on negotiation,Getting More, was published by Random House in December 2010, and became a New York Times Bestseller in January 2011. Mr. Diamond was an executive of a Wall Street energy futures brokerage firm, for which he negotiated a multimillion dollar sale. He has worked at the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell and the investment bank of Morgan Stanley. He founded or directed entrepreneurial ventures in medical services and wireless technologies. He has advised on environmental regulations, privatization and intellectual property protection in emerging markets from Chile to Kuwait. He advised the President's office in Bolivia, Colombia and Nicaragua. He persuaded 3,000 people in the jungles of Bolivia to stop growing illicit coca and to start growing bananas exported to Argentina. He advises a variety of high technology companies and in 2000 played a lead role in putting together a $300 million merger of two high-tech companies that had been on the verge of litigation. He became the first chairman of the merged companies, Summus, Inc., listed on OTC. In 2004 he represented the borrower in completing the largest foreign-sourced commercial financing in the history of Ukraine, a $107.5 million Eurobond issue to finance commercial space ventures. In June, 2005, he became Chairman and CEO of Four Star Aviation of St. Thomas, in which he is a 50% owner. In 2006 he represented The N.Y Commodities Exchange in the successful negotiation of electronic trading rights with the N.Y. Mercantile Exchange.
