Today I chat with Breonna Vereen, the Founder and CEO @imanicowrie, this week she's speaking on the faith and life transition! Breonna Vereen is the relentless entrepreneur behind Imani Cowrie jewelry collection. In high school, she found herself obsessed with statement jewelry. She quickly realized her obsession could prove costly. Costly to her high school-sized pockets and even more costly to her small ears. Her solution was to create her own jewelry collection. After many beautiful creations, collaborations, and carpal tunnel (but that’s another story) Imani Cowrie as we now know it was formed. She was also featured in @Essence during #curlfest in Atlanta last year. Check out this episode as we share more about faith and life transition. I'm sure everyone has received or maybe has not received a stimulus check. I wanted to do an episode on stimulus checks and what I did with mine. (I did not, I repeat did not buy a Chloe bag)In a @Forbes article by Robert W. Wood, Wood discusses who qualifies for a stimulus check and the parameters for receiving one. "Tax filers with adjusted gross income up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns will receive the full payment. For filers with income above those amounts, the payment amount is reduced by $5 for each $100 above the $75,000/$150,000 thresholds. Single filers with income exceeding $99,000 and $198,000 for joint filers with no children are not eligible." (Wood, 2020) Read more or Forbes.com or visit www.irs.gov for more insight on the CARES Act. Today, I'll reveal what I did with my stimulus check. You'll also hear about the organization we raised funds for our host @jasminelikepaul's birthday fundraiser and hear from @equip-her 's Executive Director. I'll also share why @iamtabitha is giving me life with these vegan recipes and how I'm keeping cute while quarantined with @lipbar and keeping my face clear with @urbanskinrx.Tell me how you are utilizing your stimulus check if you're eligible for one here. Back to the Basics shares the importance of getting back to the simple things of life. Going back to the foundation of your life. I share about Noah in the Ark and how he was stripped of everything he knew, every part of normalcy. One way that has helped me get back to the basics is the use of Google Calendar! I am so glad my sister recommended this tool to me. It helps with planning and ensuring I maintain my tasks. It also curbs procrastination. I can't believe I haven't used this sooner.Share two ways during this quarantine that has helped you get back to the basics. I shared mine on the episode! When I first thought of this idea, I didn't know how it would turn out. I originally called this episode "From Frenemies to Grace". But @crownjewel_evg wasn't a frenemy. I respected her. I didn't want any harm done to her. I just felt like we didn't understand each other, which resulted in our inability to communicate with another. Our tension grew not only personally, but we had to interact and engage professionally. Unfortunately (and fortunately), it made for some pretty uncomfortable and awkward situations. However, we found grace, through prayer, communication and our love for Jesus. Hear our story on this week's episode of the @findandsustain podcast about alleviating the tension, moving toward grace and finding peace in the most uncomfortable circumstances. Link in bio.
