Most people think their story isn't good enough to share —that it's too messy, too ordinary, or too far gone. But what if the hard parts are the most important parts? In this message from Nehemiah 9, Pastor Luke unpacks how an ancient community confessed their failures and then turnedaround and told the story of everything God had done — highs and lows included. You'll walk away with a simple, practical framework for understanding your ownstory and the confidence to share it with someone who needs to hear it.
In Romans 1:18, we read that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness. In the final movement of the chapter (vv. 24-32), Paul unfolds what this wrath looks like in practice, in the hearts, minds, and lives of those who have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and, as a result, find every part of life disordered.

Episode 110 Have you ever wondered what God has truly called you to do with your life? What is your personal course, your assignment, and your ministry? In this episode, we dive deeply into one powerful passage of Scripture that reveals something many believers overlook: God intentionally gives each of us a unique course to run and work to carry out. And understanding the difference can completely change the way you approach purpose, obedience, calling, and faithfulness.Through our signature Bible study approach, we carefully unpack this passage piece by piece and explore what it means to discover the mission God has entrusted to you, why your course won't look identical to someone else's, and how to stay focused on the mission God actually placed in your hands. You don't need to chase someone else's assignment. You need to faithfully carry the one God entrusted to you.

What would it be like to feel like your whole life was an accident? What if you didn't know who you really were? Grant Bontrager always knew as a child that he was different. One day, the reality of just how different he really was crashed into his life. What a blessing! What an opportunity we are given in parenting! Psalm 127: 3 says children are a reward! But—do we as parents ever idolize our children? Do we put them in a place God never intended them to be in our lives? This may seem like a hard conversation today, but one that is necessary in making sure we correctly lead and position our children as God intended—-realizing they are ultimately His!
There comes a point when the wilderness has done what God allowed it to do. It stripped us. It humbled us. It exposed what could not come with us. It taught us to stop building from striving, fear, comparison, and survival. But the wilderness was never meant to become our permanent address. In this episode, we are talking about what it means to leave the wilderness and step into the calling God has placed on our business, writing, marketing, message, and ministry. Because many of us are not waiting on more confirmation. We are hesitating because stepping into obedience means being seen, being heard, building the thing, writing the message, making the offer, showing up in the marketplace, and trusting God with the outcome. This is a call to stop hiding behind preparation and start stewarding what God has already placed in our hands. If God gave us the message, the book, the business, the voice, the offer, or the assignment, then obedience does not end in the secret place. At some point, we have to come out of hiding and build.
Three times Paul writes "God gave them up." The wrath of God is revealed against all ungodliness, and it looks like God stepping back and letting humanity have what it wanted. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped the creature instead of the Creator, and God gave them over to the consequences. Paul describes a world that looks uncomfortably like the one outside your window. The Rev. John Shank, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville, IL, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Romans 1:18–32. To learn more about Trinity in Edwardsville, visit trinitylutheranministries.org. Why does doing the right thing sometimes feel impossible? Why do feelings of guilt follow us even when we've been forgiven? These aren't new questions. St. Paul wrote his letter to the Romans for a church he had never visited, and yet he addressed the struggles every Christian knows firsthand: the weight of the law, the persistence of sin, the sufficiency of what God has done in Christ. Romans covers enormous ground. Paul moves from the universal problem of sin through justification by faith, the role of baptism, the war between flesh and spirit, God's faithfulness to Israel, and the shape of life together in the body of Christ. There's a reason the Reformation was born in this letter. Join us on Thy Strong Word as we open up Romans, weekdays at 11am or on-demand anytime, at KFUO.org. Thy Strong Word, hosted by Rev. Dr. Phil Booe, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church of Luverne, MN, reveals the light of our salvation in Christ through study of God's Word, breaking our darkness with His redeeming light. Each weekday, two pastors fix our eyes on Jesus by considering Holy Scripture, verse by verse, in order to be strengthened in the Word and be equipped to faithfully serve in our daily vocations. This is a series of parables (fictional stories with kingdom truth) of the Kingdom of God! In this message, Pastor Keith takes us into one of the most provocative and misunderstood stories Jesus ever told: the Parable of the Shrewd Manager.Who actually owns your life? The Bible reminds us that the earth and its fullness thereof belong entirely to the Lord. We aren't owners; we are stewards. When we shift our perspective from ownership to stewardship, it changes everything about how we handle our time, our talents, and our resources. Jesus challenges us to look honestly at what has been placed in our hands and asks a defining question for our faith: what are you doing with what God gave you? In this episode, we walk through the life of King Hezekiah and uncover a sobering truth: even the most faithful can fall when pride quietly takes root. Through Scripture in 2 Kings, 2 Chronicles, and Isaiah, we see how success, influence, and blessing can become dangerous if we stop giving God the glory. But this isn't just a warning, it's an invitation. God always provides a remedy. If you've been given a second chance, the question is: what are you doing with it? Where to dive in: 0:00 – The hidden sin that follows success 2:15 – Hezekiah's faith, victory, and miraculous deliverance 9:30 – When blessing turns into pride 14:45 – Why God allowed affliction (and what it revealed) 21:00 – The danger of not giving God the glory 29:30 – What are you doing with your second chance? 38:30 – Hezekiah vs. Manasseh: two very different responses 50:00 – God's justice, mercy, and the real consequence of sin 1:02:00 – The remedy: humility, repentance, and returning to God 1:09:00 – The power and greatness of God (Isaiah 40) 1:12:00 – Final encouragement and prayer About your host: Jaime Luce' testimony has daunting personal mountains and treacherous financial valleys. Although Christians speak often about the Holy Spirit, many do not understand the nature of His work. On the heels of celebrating believer's baptisms, Pastor Davis explores 1 Samuel 9-10 to show what it means for the Holy Spirit to give Saul “a new heart.” This sermon highlights the complete sovereignty of God, the complete transformation which the Holy Spirit works in believers' lives, and the complete salvation which Jesus provides.
“God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).
Do You Believe that “He {God} gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”? MESSAGE SUMMARY: You have got to believe; but until you get your thinking right, your life will not change – you have got to believe! It is hard for some people, today, to believe in the miraculous birth of Jesus celebrated on Christmas day. Ok, just start where you are in what you believe. Can you believe that you are a sinner? Can you believe that you are not perfect? Can you believe that you have violated God's laws? Despite this life background, can you believe that God loves you just as you now are? Can you believe that God sent His Only Son, Jesus, to save all that believe in Him so that you would not perish but have eternal life? Maybe this is where you start in believing in the miraculous birth of Jesus; you need to start where you are. Jesus' life was defined by His death on the cross and by His resurrection, thereby, living up to the translation of His name, Jesus – “Salvation”. The Apostle John succinctly summarized the purpose of Jesus birth in John3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.". TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, fill me with the simple trust that even out of the most awful evil around me, you are able to bring great good — for me, for others, and for your great glory. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 91). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will entrust to Him my future. I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. What are you doing with what God has given you? In this sermon from Pastor Phil Hopper, we explore the parable of the talents and what it means to live a life of eternal impact. Jesus' Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30) reminds us that we are not owners—we are stewards. God has uniquely entrusted each of us with time, resources, and abilities to advance His kingdom. The question isn't how much you've been given, but what you're doing with it. As 1 Corinthians 4:2 says, “it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.” If you've ever struggled with fear, comparison, or feeling like what you have isn't enough, this sermon will encourage you to trust God and step into faithful stewardship. Don't bury what God has given you—multiply it for His glory. In this episode of Cornerstone Conversations, we unpack Matthew 25 and the connection between stewardship, responsibility, and the heart of God for “the least of these.” This is not just a conversation about talent. It's about trust. God has already entrusted you with something. Your family. Your influence. Your resources. Your time. And the question is not how much you have… it's what you're doing with it. LESSON 65My Only Function Is The One God Gave Me.The idea for today reaffirms your commitment to salvation. It also reminds you that you have no function other than that. Both these thoughts are obviously necessary for a total commitment. Salvation cannot be the only purpose you hold while you still cherish others. The full acceptance of salvation as your only function necessarily entails two phases; the recognition of salvation as your function, and the relinquishment of all the other goals you have invented for yourself. This is the only way in which you can take your rightful place among the saviors of the world. This is the only way in which you can say and mean, “My only function is the one God gave me.” This is the only way in which you can find peace of mind.Today, and for a number of days to follow, set aside ten to fifteen minutes for a more sustained practice period, in which you try to understand and accept what the idea for the day really means. Today's idea offers you escape from all your perceived difficulties. It places the key to the door of peace, which you have closed upon yourself, in your own hands. It gives you the answer to all the searching you have done since time began.Try, if possible, to undertake the daily extended practice periods at approximately the same time each day. Try, also, to determine this time in advance, and then adhere to it as closely as possible. The purpose of this is to arrange your day so that you have set apart the time for God, as well as for all the trivial purposes and goals you will pursue. This is part of the long-range disciplinary training your mind needs, so that the Holy Spirit can use it consistently for the purpose He shares with you.For the longer practice period, begin by reviewing the idea for the day. Then close your eyes, repeat the idea to yourself once again, and watch your mind carefully to catch whatever thoughts cross it. At first, make no attempt to concentrate only on thoughts related to the idea for the day. Rather, try to uncover each thought that arises to interfere with it. Note each one as it comes to you, with as little involvement or concern as possible, dismissing each one by telling yourself:This thought reflects a goal that is preventing me from accepting my only function. After a while, interfering thoughts will become harder to find. Try, however, to continue a minute or so longer, attempting to catch a few of the idle thoughts that escaped your attention before, but do not strain or make undue effort in doing this. Then tell yourself:On this clean slate let my true function be written for me.You need not use these exact words, but try to get the sense of being willing to have your illusions of purpose be replaced by truth. Finally, repeat the idea for today once more, and devote the rest of the practice period to trying to focus on its importance to you, the relief its acceptance will bring you by resolving your conflicts once and for all, and the extent to which you really want salvation in spite of your own foolish ideas to the contrary. In the shorter practice periods, which should be undertaken at least once an hour, use this form in applying today's idea:My only function is the one God gave me.I want no other and I have no other.Sometimes close your eyes as you practice this, and sometimes keep them open and look about you. It is what you see now that will be totally changed when you accept today's idea completely.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

Send a textIf you read the book of Galatians, about the time you get to the middle of it, you may think, considering what Paul has just said, why did God give the law in the first place? Because when Paul talks about the law, he talks about it in such a way as to almost put it down. At times, it can almost seem like a tirade against the law. Not only can the law not save you if you're under the law, but you are also actually under a curse. And you can't read all this without asking, well, then why did God give the law in the first place? That is a very logical and natural question that arises out of all that he has had to say up until this point. And Paul is aware of that, and so beginning in today's passage, chapter 3, verse 19, he himself poses the question, and he asks, what purpose then does the law serve? And beginning at that verse and moving down through verse 26, Paul will answer that question.Let's hear what he has to say…..RISE RADIOEach week we discuss some of the most important issues we face in our society today.Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showFollow and support me on Patreon. From 2 Timothy 1:12 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): John 1:1-18; Luke 1:27-38; Luke 2:1-22; John 20:27-29; Psalms 69b:13-24. A WORD FROM THE LORD WEBSITE: www.AWFTL.org. In this episode of the Encounter Podcast, David Diga Hernandez sits down with Kathryn Krick as she shares about how her personal encounter with God led to a worldwide deliverance movement. Kathryn also shares how the Holy Spirit led her through seasons of misunderstanding and persecution, even from fellow Christians, without compromising the call of God on her life. This episode is a sobering yet faith-stirring reminder that when revival is born, opposition cannot stop what God has ordained. The Encounter Podcast Ep.75
