Our focus is on verse 35-41 In this portion of scripture, Jesus had given the disciples a word, “Let us go over to the other side.” The disciples had to leave the crowd behind for them to obey that word. As they were obeying God, A furious storm came to challenge that promise. It caused them to take their eyes off of the promise. They could only see chaos all around them. Their circumstances caused them to doubt if they could trust that word. The crowds were pushing Jesus because they all wanted something from Him. Jesus is our example. If He needed time away from the demands of the crowds, you too need time away from the demands of life. Jesus was not alone, he spent time in solitude with His inner circle. Out of that season of solitude, he selected the team that would change the world. He appointed others because the demands of ministry were too much for one person.

Only one disciple recognized His voice, John. I believe John knew how to recognize Jesus' voice because he was really close to Jesus. You can only maintain your peace if you allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of everything Jesus has said to you.Jesus rebuked the wind and told it, “Quiet, be still.” After rebuking the wind, Jesus rebuked His disciples. He said to His disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. They said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such a woman, NOW WHAT DO YOU SAY?” In order words, how do you want us to judge her? Jesus did not come to judge but to save.
