Coram Deo is a podcast hosted by Kyle J. Howard. The aim of this podcast is to discuss how theology affects every area of life. Coram Deo was the battle cry of the Reformation. The reformers believed that there was no distinction between "secular & sacred". They believed that every facet of life was…

Recently, there has been a lot of debates and controversy surrounding the idea of "Eternal Generation". Personally, I believe there would be much benefit added to this debate if Christians stopped seeing submission as the primary component of Complementarianism rather than unity/partnership as is presented in Genesis 2.I believe the roles of Submission and/or leadership are the fruit & not the root of the helper/partnership/unity decree of God as read in Genesis 2. This makes a MASSIVE difference! When you root Complementarianism in eternal subordination rather than in Genesis 2 and Ephesians 4 9Christ and Church relationship) you are beginning where the Bible does not and you will travel where the Bible does not go. The wrong starting place leads to wrong emphasis. In short, a wife's role is not rooted in submission but in a partnership where she is a help to her husband. Submission is the fruit of this. Join me in today's episode where I flesh these things out!

In episode 2 of my series on Calvinism, I discuss the Doctrine of Total Depravity/Inability. Join me today as I give a brief overview on the doctrine. Romans 3:9-20 What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” “Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.” “The venom of asps is under their lips.” “Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin

Many times, Christians lack joy because they are not walking in the reality of a full Gospel. We readily embrace the Death of Christ but often don't consider the applications of his life and resurrection. The gospel is Good News and it has three pillars. 1. The Life of Christ 2.The Death of Christ 3. The Resurrection Jesus' Life: The Righteousness of God is given to all those who receive Christ in faith granting them adoption & access to Throne of Grace Jesus' Death: Jesus died under the wrath of God in the "law-place" of all those who repent/believe & in so doing justifying them before God Jesus' resurrection: This vindicating act certifies His Life & Death work & ministers surety to the Saint that their sin chains are broken! If you are a listener to this podcast, please consider joining the new Facebook group! The Facebook group provides listeners a way to interact with one another as well with the me! Hope to see you on there! https://www.facebook.com/groups/CoramDeoGroup/
Voicemail Question: is depression always sinful, sometimes sinful, are never sinful? Do you have a question you'd like me to answer on the podcast? Leave my a voicemail! 502-482-3611
Many times, Christians can have this idea that Grace some how saves them from the consequences of their sin. However, this is simply not the case. Adam sinned against God and lost his immortality. Moses sinned against God and was deprived of entering the promised land. David sinned against God and lost a child. Grace does not remove the consequences of Sin. What Grace does, is it makes the consequences more bearable. How? Neither Adam, Moses, or David complained about the consequences of their sin because they each realized that if Grace was not present they each would've been Justly killed by The Lord and separated from Him forever. The punishment for sin is death. Be thankful as you meet with the consequences of sin. In the consequences you actually find Grace abounding!
Join me as I answer a question presented on the Rugged Marriage Facebook group. A young lady in pre-marriage counseling found out that her fiancé has been struggling with porn for many years. Tragically, this is a very common occurence in pre-engagement or pre-marriage counseling. Tune in to here my general thoughts regarding how I would counsel into this situation.
There is a sect in America that is rapidly growing in urban communities right under the noses of most Christians. Due to neglect and the outright dismissal by many Christians, this group has expanded exponentially and with its expansion has led many of the brightest and most promising black youths into a system of racism, hatred, and ultimately a false Gospel. Join me today, and my guess Vocal Malone from Urban Theologian as we discuss the Black Hebrew Israelite movement. DO not dismiss this discussion, like Islam, the movement has grown exponentially and they are one of the least evangelized groups within the urban context.
