Welcome to Day 2854 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2854 – “He is Risen Indeed!”  based on 1 Corinthians 15:20-23 Putnam Church Message – 04/05/2026 Resurrection Sunday – “He is Risen Indeed!”   Last week's message was: “Behold He Comes!” This covered the entire Passion Week, with the launching point of Zechariah 9:9 Today, our focus is on Resurrection Sunday. Today's message is: “He is Risen Indeed!”  We will celebrate the resurrected Christ and the assurance we have in the salvation that He brings. Our core verses this week are 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 20-23  3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.  20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. 21 So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. 22 Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. 23 But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back.     Opening Prayer Father in heaven, on this Resurrection Sunday, we come with gratitude, wonder, and praise. Open our eyes to see the glory of Your Son. Open our hearts to receive the power of the empty tomb. For those who are joyful, deepen their joy. For those who are weary, strengthen their faith. For those who are grieving, breathe hope again. For those who are uncertain, make the truth of Christ's resurrection clear and living. May this not be just a familiar holiday to us, but a holy encounter with the risen Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Introduction This morning our message is titled: “He Is Risen Indeed!” That is more than a phrase. It is more than a tradition. It is more than a beautiful greeting to exchange on Easter morning. Across the centuries, believers in many lands have greeted one another with words like these: “Christ is risen!” - “He is risen indeed!”  Why has the church loved that greeting so much? Because Easter is not simply about springtime, flowers, new grass, warmer days, or the turning of the seasons. Easter is not the church's way of saying, “Things will probably get better.” Easter is not vague optimism. Easter is not religious cheerfulness. Easter is the declaration that Jesus Christ, who was crucified, buried, and mourned, has bodily risen from the dead. That changes everything. The four Gospels all testify to this glorious truth. Matthew tells us about the earthquake, the angel, and the guards' fear. Mark emphasizes the shock and amazement of the women at the tomb. Luke draws us into the confusion, the angelic reminder, and the burning hearts on the Emmaus Road. John gives us the intimacy of Mary Magdalene in the garden, Peter and John running to the tomb, and the risen Christ calling His sheep by name. Each Gospel brings its own emphasis, but together they proclaim one great truth: The tomb is empty because Jesus is alive. And because He is alive, we do not merely have a memory to cherish. We have a Savior to trust, a Lord to follow, and a living hope to sustain us. Main Point 1: The Resurrection Is a Real Event, Not a Religious Idea At the center of Easter is not a mood, but a miracle. Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark or just at dawn, the women came to the tomb. That detail matters. They were not coming to celebrate a victory. They were coming to mourn a death. They brought spices. They expected a sealed grave. They were not looking for resurrection. They were looking for a body. That is why the empty tomb startled them so deeply. Matthew says the stone was rolled away. Mark says they wondered who would move the stone. Luke says they found the stone rolled away and did not find the body. John says Mary Magdalene saw the stone had been moved and ran to tell the disciples. This is not the language of people inventing a legend to comfort themselves. This is the language of startled witnesses who encountered something unexpected. Expanded Narrative In the first-century Jewish world, burial mattered deeply. Graves were places of finality. Bodies were wrapped, laid to rest, and mourned. A large stone meant closure. For Jewish families, proper burial was an act of honor and reverence. No one visited a tomb on the third day expecting a loved one to walk out. That is what makes Easter morning so startling. The women go in sorrow, not anticipation. Peter runs in confusion. John stoops and sees the linen wrappings lying there. Mary stands outside weeping, thinking someone has taken the Lord away. This is not fantasy. This is eyewitness faith born out of astonishment. And the church, that matters because Christianity stands or falls on this. If Christ has not been raised, then our faith is empty. But if He has been raised, then everything He said is true, everything He accomplished on the cross is complete, and everything He promised is secure. Illustration Sometimes people want Easter to mean only that “hope rises” in a poetic sense. But that is like saying a check is valuable because it is beautifully written, even if there is no money in the account. The beauty of the words means little without the reality behind them. The power of Easter is not that it sounds inspiring. The power of Easter lies in the fact that it happened. Object Lesson Bring a sealed envelope and an open envelope. Say: “A sealed envelope means the message is still hidden. But an opened envelope means the message has been revealed. The tomb was sealed, but on Easter morning it was opened. God was declaring to the world that His Son had conquered death.” Related Scriptures 1 Corinthians 15:14, 17 – If Christ has not been raised, our faith is useless. Psalm 16:10 – God would not allow His Holy One to rot in the grave. Acts 2:24 – It was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him. Romans 1:4 – Jesus was shown to be the Son of God in power by His resurrection from the dead. Summary of Main Point 1 Easter is not built on religious imagination but on a real, historical resurrection. The empty tomb, the startled witnesses, and the transformed disciples all point to the same conclusion: Jesus truly rose from the dead. Our faith is not resting on symbolism alone, but on a risen Savior. Main Point 2: The Resurrection Gives Us a Living Hope Peter writes in 1 Peter 1:3: "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, A better phrase is this: a living hope. Not a dead hope. Not a faint hope. Not a wishful hope. Not a seasonal hope. A living hope. Why is it living? Because it is tied to a living Christ. If Jesus were only a memory, then hope would eventually fade into sentiment. But because Jesus is alive, hope lives too. Expanded Narrative Peter knew what he was talking about. He had failed Jesus publicly. He had denied Him three times. He had wept bitterly. By Friday night, Peter's courage was gone. By Saturday, his hope must have felt shattered. But then came Sunday morning. Then came the empty tomb. Then came the risen Christ. The man who once cowered before a servant girl would later stand and preach Christ boldly. Why? Because the resurrection changed him. And Peter later wrote to believers who were suffering. They were not living easy lives. They were facing pressure, hardship, misunderstanding, and persecution. Peter did not tell them to pretend life was simple. He did not tell them to smile more and think positively. He pointed them to the resurrection. That is Christian realism. The New Testament does not deny trouble. It...

April 5, 2026 – Easter Sunday: May God's words be spoken, may God's words be heard. Amen. Well, I had hoped it would be a bit more Springy today. Still, even if the weather isn't sunny and bright, Spring truly is here – flowers are blooming, birds are singing, everyone is sneezing, and move aside basketball on TV – baseball is back! And Lordy, do we need all of that now, don't we? It's been a tough winter, and an exhausting year. Weather wise, this winter has chilled us to the bone, and drenched our spirits in the snow and icy rain. And the gloomy clouds matched a lot of our spirits with all that we were experiencing in the world around us. On Good Friday, we remembered when empire crucified Jesus. And this year, it seems we have been in a perpetual Good Friday. Day after day after day, we see Jesus being crucified. For we know, as this Gospel of Matthew tells us, Jesus taught his disciples where to find him. As I noted at the beginning of this Holy Week on Palm Sunday, and again on Good Friday, Jesus, using the setting of a final judgement, said about those who will be declared righteous, “…for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger (immigrant in today's terms) and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” When perplexed as to how they had done that, the answer came, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” So, the part of the story of Holy Week, the shallow praise of the people as he entered Jerusalem, his prayer of grief in the garden of Gethsemane, and his execution on the cross by the Roman Empire – it feels very familiar now. It is a darkness that we have been experiencing for so very long as we watch our own empire grab people of color out of their homes, places of work, or even children in school and disappear them. As we see empire shoot and sometimes kill people outright in the streets. We feel betrayed. We grieve as we hear of the oppression of already marginalized people, our nation bombing a school for girls, and service men and women returning home in flag draped coffins. Our country has been in a very, very, long Holy Week. It seems that might has shoved right into a tomb and rolled over the stone. It sure must have felt that way to the first followers of Jesus too. And yet, that isn't the end of the story. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary… Honestly, can we just stop right there…what is up with that? I mean couldn't the author of Matthew give that other Mary a surname too? It's a little like on that old Bob Newhart Show – My brother Darryl, and my other brother Darryl. I know – showing my age here. But, really? Anyway, those two Marys went to the tomb expecting to care for the body of Jesus, their friend and their rabbi. Instead, their world was turned upside down – literally. There was a great earthquake – just like what happened according to this gospel account when he died on the cross, and the same effect was felt too as he entered the city of Jerusalem. God sure knows how to get our attention. And the only thing the women found that was dead were the soldiers – or at least they “became like dead men” according to the text. That was because just as they arrived, a messenger of God appears looking like lightening, who rolled away the stone and sat on it, you know – like you do if you are a messenger of God, I guess. Then the women were told that the tomb was empty, Jesus had been raised from the dead, and they were to go tell all the other disciples. They did, but before they could get very far, Jesus appears before them on the road. And if that wasn't crazy, it gets even stranger – he says “Greetings!” Seriously? It's like he's messin' with them. There they were, having experienced an earthquake, a lightening bolt angel, nearly dead soldiers, and a missing Rabbi, whom they were told has somehow been brought back from the dead… I mean – that's already a LOT to deal with, right? And then Jesus drops down on them and says “Hey you'all!! What up?” I don't know about you, but you could hardly blame her if Mary Magdalene said “It's five o'clock somewhere, I need a drink.” Instead, she and Mary the sequel grabbed his feet and kissed them. Note that they didn't need anything more, as the ones in Galilee would ask for – just him being in front of them was all that was needed. And, not for nothing, but as is needed to be pointed out every year – Jesus came to see the women disciples before Peter, James, John, or any of the other men. Jesus, in every gospel account, always appears to Mary Magdalene first (and any other woman who happens to be with her in the synoptics of Matthew, Mark, and Luke – in John, she comes alone). She, and if there are other women with her, are sent to tell the rest of the disciples. The women were the apostles to the apostles. The first ones sent to proclaim the good news. And what was that good news? That the cross, erected by empire to destroy love, to extinguish hope – it wasn't the last word. Or, to put it another way, since it is the early days of baseball season, in the immortal words of the great Yogi Berra, – “It ain't over 'til it's over.” Now, Yogi said that about the 1973 pennant race when the former Yankee was the manager of my hapless Mets. They were 13 games back, in other words, a usual season. The manager wrote a 1998 astutely named book: The Yogi Book: I Really Didn't Say Everything I Said. In it he said, “That was my answer to a reporter when I was managing the New York Mets in July 1973.” Of course, he also said other, what some call Yogi-isms: There's “It's like déjà vu all over again.” And of course, this classic: “Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours.” But, “It's not over till it's over,” still has a way of inspiring us. It sure did the Mets. They went on the win the pennant and got into the World Series! In true Mets fashion though, they lost. Well, here's the thing. Easter is when God offers the same message, “It ain't over till it's over,” but adds this note of hope: “And I am telling you – it ain't over.”2 It ain't over. Nope – God isn't dead or defeated, so neither are we. That is the first lesson of Easter – hope. But another is this. That is in these Good Friday moments, when the tomb looms large and empire seems to have their boots on our neck, God will always meet us there, in our darkest hour – when it seems that all hope has been lost. God will meet us on that difficult road and instill new life into us to send us on our mission in the world. God will do that, because God loves us – just as we are, unconditionally, and for all time. That is the second lesson of Easter – Love. God.Loves.Us. God.Loves.You! For Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, for the rest of the disciples in Galilee, and for each of you – God meets us where we are and calls us to new life, because of that great love. And God is with us now! That, my friends, is good news for us all! But sometimes we don't see it. Sometimes we don't lift our eyes to see Jesus on the road, we don't go to the tomb to encounter an angel waiting for us. When life throws so much at us in these difficult times of our lives, one of the things that can happen is that we, intentionally or not, turn away from the pain and chaos around us. We dismiss the pain in our body out of fear of a difficult diagnosis. We turn off the TV so we don't have to see people being hurt or killed by federal agents. We keep our heads down looking at our social media feeds of cat videos. We watch Hallmark movies (or, maybe that's just me). We turn to the things that comfort us, even sometimes self-medicate to ease the anxiety and the pain. Now, don't get me wrong – comfort is important. We all need it. We all need rest from what wears us down emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. That is a healthy thing to do. But there is a difference between seeking temporary respite, and deliberately putting ourselves in the tomb and rolling over the stone. I am reminded of something I read once about lost sheep. “When someone asked a wise old shepherd how sheep manage to get lost and separate themselves from the flock, the shepherd said, “Sheep don't just get lost. They nibble themselves lost.” The sheep, in other words, never look up to see where they're going, or how far they've wandered from the flock. All they can see is the next succulent patch of grass: and the next, and the next. The grass is a good thing, and essential to life: but they follow it so single-mindedly, it leads them ultimately in the direction of death.”[1] A good patch of comfort to nibble on for a time is a good thing, but we must keep our eyes focused on what will really sustain us, so that we never get ourselves lost – so that we see God sending a messenger to give us hope, so that we see Jesus standing in front of us to offer us new life. Even in Holy Week, if we focus only on the betrayal, denial, anguish in the garden, the arrest, and the crucifixion, we will miss something else. There was also his great love in washing the feet of his disciples – even the ones who would deny and betray him. There are always the helpers, the ones who offer great love in all of the darkest moments of humanity's history. We just need to watch for them. And, if we really think about it, in these dark times we face, the comfort we truly need isn't to be found in self-medicating, isolating, or ignoring the world anyway. We shouldn't throw the blanket over our head on Sundays and attend the church of the Holy Comforter. No, it is here, at this table, where we are brought back from the dead by him whose resurrection restores our souls and reminds us that there is nothing in the world to be afraid of when we stay close to Christ Jesus. For by his death and resurrection we know that life is stronger than death, light overcomes darkness in the end, and love will always defeat hate. Every single time. By his death and resurrection, we know that the powers of this world are weak, and there is nothing to fear. By his death and resurrection, we know that the earthly powers of this world do not have the last say – God does. It was true of Rome so long ago, and it is true today. So, let us rise up from our despair, grief, and isolation. Let us step away from the tombs in which the powerful of the world have tried to bury the love of Christ. Let us lift our heads from the comfortable, to return to the true comfort of our shepherd – here at this table. Because make no mistake about it – God is telling us: “It ain't over till I say it is over, and folks, I am telling you it ain't over! It ain't over because Christ Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! And that, my friends, changes everything. Happy Easter Everyone! Let none fear death; for the Saviour's death has set us free"- St John ChrysostomWelcome to this week's C&SI podcast on this Easter Sunday. Blessed Eastertide to all our listeners from the C&SI team!On this week's programme we are delighted to welcome back Noirin Lynch, Director of FCJ Spirituality House, Teach Spiorodáltathe in Spanish Point, Co Clare to reflect on Easter Joy in a world gone mad. Noirin reminds us that Easter is not either about stopping in the paid of Good Friday nor at the same time running into the Alleluia's but more a reminder to us that Easter Joy is the confidence that no matter what, we are in God's hands. Jesus walked towards the hard stuff – he came down from Tabor and proceeded to Jerusalem and ultimately to Calvary. He stayed and we are also called to stay in solidarity and accompany people in their real lived experiences. The Kingdom of Heaven is not just a theory for the next life but a call to hope now. Our Easter Joy is a protest against despair in a world that might seem to have gone mad. In part 1 we have a brief view of the up coming Easter Week and the Octave that we are about to celebrate liturgically as well as some papal odds and ends. In part 3, we reflect on Matthew's account of Easter Morning (Matthew 28:1-10) and the encounter of the Women with the Angels and the Empty Tomb; asking ourselves the question like the women, who is it we are seeking? And do we sometimes forget to leave behind the empty tomb and go out into the world, reminding ourselves not to be afraid!Text us at +353 874668950 or email at comeandseeinspirtaions@gmail.com

P: We walked the valleys and saw the people crying in need. Jesus reached out to them. He did not criticize or diminish their needs. He touched their lives and they were never the same. The love that flowed through him to them was God's healing love. L: Christ is risen! P: We sat at table in the Upper Room as Jesus told of his death and we wanted to discount his words. How could he die? We did not want to believe it. It was easier to proclaim with bravado our faith than to listen to his words. L: Christ is risen! P: We waited in the Garden of Sorrows while he prayed and watched in horror as he was betrayed with a kiss. We followed at a distance and denied, with Peter, ever knowing who he was. We were in the crowd that clamored for Barabbas' release and turned our backs as Pilate washed his hands of the crime. L: Christ is risen! P: We followed him to the hill and cringed as they nailed him to the Cross. We heard his words of forgiveness and love from the cross and felt the ground tremble as the sky darkened and he gave up his life, into his father's hands. L: Christ is risen! P: We ran from the empty tomb today, with the incredible news that He is Risen! He was not captured by death, but is risen from the dead, just as he said he would be. We come with the joy in our hearts to this day. As the flowers in our worship area burst with color, so we burst with the absolute joyous news CHRIST IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA. AMEN. We have heard the Resurrection story and for so many years it has remained just a nice story. But this time it is different. This time we have walked the path with Christ. We have journeyed through the wilderness and valleys, to the mountaintops to the courtyard, the garden and the cross. Now you bring us to the empty tomb and to the joyous news of the truth of Christ. Forgive us when we so easily doubt the truth of his resurrection. Forgive us when we feel we have to have absolute proof of everything. Your love in Jesus Christ is all the proof we need. You conquered death and sin, you brought us to new life. We praise your holy name and sing our unending song of hope and thanksgiving. Christ the Lord is risen today. Alleluia. AMEN. ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA !!!! CHRISTUS RESURREXIT, RESURREXIT VERES ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!!!ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!!!! CHRIST IS RISEN, HE IS RISEN INDEED, ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!On this Easter Day, from the all on the C&SI teams we wish you and yours every blessing of this Blessed Day!On this weeks podcast we are delighted to welcome back our old friend Noirin Lynch to share with us some thoughts on Easter, hope and resurrection. In part one we have some regular notices but no saints of the week this week as it is the Easter Octave which takes precedence over everything else!In part three Noirin joins John and Shane to reflect on Luke 24:1-12 which is Luke's account of the going of the Women to the Tomb on Easter morning. It recounts the experience of the group which have been given the title of the Myrrh Bearers - Joanna, Mary of Magdala, Salome, Mary & Martha, Mary the wife of Clophas and Susanna - the first witnesses to the great events we celebrate. Reflecting on Hope in EasterNoirin Lynch joins with us this week to share a reflection on Easter. Speaking from her experience of living with and getting treatment for cancer for the last 12 months it is from that experience she shares with our listeners how the language of life transforms our experience and understanding of Easter. But even more so at the moment we have a need for the language of Easter to pull us out of the doom spiral of despair in the world. It is a reminder to us that "Easter is a protect against despair", it is not enough for us to say that Jesus has risen from the dead but rather we live in a post Resurrection world and that should make a difference. Reflecting on Kim Rosen's poem "In impossible darkness" Noirin gives us some deeply moving and thoughtful words to reflect on for this Eastertide. Text us at +353 874668950 or email at comeandseeinspirtaions@gmail.com

Mark 28: 1-7 (NASB) 1 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb. 2 And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it. 3 And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 The guards shook from fear of him and became like dead men. 5 And the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6 He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you to Galilee. There you will see Him; behold, I have told you.” Mark 16: 1-7 (NASB) 1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might come and anoint Him. 2 And very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?” 4 And looking up, they noticed that the stone had been rolled away; for it was extremely large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting at the right, wearing a white robe; and they were amazed. 6 But he said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; see, here is the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.'” Luke 24: 10-12 (NASB) 10 Now these women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles. 11 But these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe the women. 12 Nevertheless, Peter got up and ran to the tomb; and when he stooped and looked in, he saw the linen wrappings only; and he went away to his home, marveling at what had happened. John 20: 19-20 (NASB) 19 Now when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were together due to fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and said to them, “Peace be to you.” 20 And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Acts 2: 22-24 (NASB) 22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a Man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— 23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. 24 But God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. CHRIST IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED! All of us at Highlawn Baptist Church would like to wish all of you a very Happy and Blessed Easter! But that begs the question...why? This world at the best of times is "difficult" to say the least, and if you look at the past year, I would dare say we've all had our difficulty turned up by quite a bit. Yet, we still have the ability to be happy, to be joyful, to rejoice in the Hope that Easter brings because we have an empty tomb to celebrate!   Lots of men have been born on earth (only one born of a virgin). Lots of men have lived life (only one lived a sinless life). Lots of men have been wrongly accused, unjustly tried, and sentenced to death (only one stood completely silent in the face of His accusers). Lots of men have been executed (only one brought about earthquakes, a massively tall and thick woven "curtain" to be torn from top to bottom, darkness in the middle of the day, the dead to rise, and unbelievers believe) Lots of men have been sealed in a tomb...           ONLY ONE HAS LEFT THAT TOMB!   Jesus is alive, the only prophet, the only man, the only human ever claiming to be God that is in fact alive today! That borrowed tomb couldn't hold Jesus, and because our God is alive today, the born again children of God enjoy all the promises associated with a God who holds the very keys of life and death! Part III of 1 Samuel's Ark Narrative is an Easter story. It may not sound anything like an Easter story, but it's definitely an Easter story. The presence of God has departed with the Ark of the Covenant, deep in the dark heart of enemy territory. Where is the strong hand of God? How could He let the nemesis of His people defeat Him? What happens when God's glory dies and evil seems victorious?Around 1000 BC, Israel had to look backward 1000 years to the Exodus in order to see where they would be going in another 1000 years with Jesus' death and resurrection. HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED! This week is our segment called, Lead the Conversation.  This is where we invite you, our listener, to join us to keep unpacking the previous week’s topic – Friendship and Laughter.  We invited listeners Christy White and Adrea Stuecker to lead the conversation for us. Christy and Adrea share with us about the burden of loneliness and friendly confrontations. But don’t worry, we get to the laughter too. Our Guests: Christy White and her husband,Tim, have 5 children (3 boys/2 girls) and have been married for 20 years.  Their eldest son is in his first year of college and she home schools the 4 younger ones in Bella Vista, Arkansas.  Christy is a convert (22 years this Easter!) and absolutely loves being Catholic! Bring her a great cup of coffee and a good book and you will be her best friend!   You can connect with Christy on FB and IG. Adrea Stuecker is a convert to the catholic faith, the wife of Jason, and mama to three sweet babes Hampton (8),  Hadley (5), and one son born into heaven.  Adrea is a self proclaimed recovering CPA trying to suppress her type A-ness in the midst of motherhood’s messiness.  She loves cooking, baking, and anything her kids are into.  Her favorite saints are St. Faustina and St. Mary Magdalene.  Adrea wold love for you to come say hello and connect on IG.  Show Notes: “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” –C.S. Lewis “People won’t care what you know until they know how much you care.” – original author unknown. “28 Peter began to say to him, “Lo, we have left everything and followed you.” 29 Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.[g] 31 But many that are first will be last, and the last first.'”–Mark 10:28-31 “Yet we all know from experience that when we give God time, we are happy. When we cheat God, we cheat ourselves. We know this from thousands of repeated experiments. And yet we keep running away from God, from communion with God, from prayer, as if it were bitter medicine” –Peter Kreeft on Time “Complaining to the Lord of her treatment, she heard him reply, “Teresa, whom the Lord loves, he chastises. This is how I treat all my friends.” She replied tartly, “No wonder you have so few!'” –St. Teresa of Avila

HE IS RISEN! (this is where you respond, "HE IS RISEN INDEED!") A Sunday morning became the most important moment in time, when a tomb where an executed Jewish peasant/teacher had been buried, came to be unexpectedly empty. The entirety of the Christian faith rests on this single moment, that through the power of the Spirit, God raised Jesus from the dead. On Easter morning, we remember and celebrate that the tomb is empty, that Jesus has defeated death, that sin has been rendered powerless, and that a new and abundant life is available to all people. This is why we celebrate Easter! In Christ, we become Easter people; resurrection, new life, hope-filled, grateful, self-giving people. The empty tomb isn't just our hope, it's the hope for the world. Being Easter people has emerged as our calling; we carry this proclamation into our world, HE HAS RISEN!
