In this stirring and deeply encouraging Advent message, Pastor Karl continues the series The King Has Come with a raw and life-giving exploration of the second great gift Jesus brings: peace.Turning to the familiar yet profound scene in Luke 2:8–20, Pastor Karl invites us into the midnight terror of ordinary shepherds—suddenly confronted by the blinding glory of God—and shows how the very first words from heaven that night were not “Merry Christmas,” but “Fear not.” That first Christmas did not begin with sentimental calm; it began with paralyzing, mega-fear. And right there, in the middle of stacked-on-stacked fear, the angel announced good news of great joy: a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord, the Prince of Peace. With pastoral tenderness and unflinching honesty, Pastor Karl unmasks fear as the mortal enemy of peace—how it magnifies threats, shrinks our view of God, and paints our future in colors darker than God ever intended. Yet the gospel is stronger: peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of a Person. Peace is not something Jesus gives; peace is who Jesus is—and He gives Himself.Through the shepherds' journey from terror to testimony, we're given clear, scriptural paths out of fear and into the unshakable peace of Christ: speaking God's truth over fear's lies, refusing to agree with the spirit of fear, drawing near to Jesus through spiritual disciplines, and taking bold steps of obedience that move us against comfort and toward surrender. This is a word for everyone whose heart has been ruled by anxiety, worst-case scenarios, or the quiet fears that steal joy—especially in this season. A tender yet urgent call to stop trusting the unknown future to our own control and start trusting it to the known God who entered our fear as a baby in a manger.Because the King has come, fear does not get the final word. Peace does. And when the Prince of Peace takes over a life, what spills out is no longer fear—but praise, testimony, and unshakable confidence in the goodness of God.Essential listening for anyone who longs to trade fear for the peace that passes all understanding this Christmas.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Proverbs 16:6–9 traces how divine mercy and human humility shape the ordered life. “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged,” revealing the covenant harmony between grace and moral reform. When a man's ways please the Lord, even his enemies are subdued by divine peace. Better a little with righteousness than great gain without justice, for the heart's plans succeed only when the Lord directs its steps. In this Morning Manna teaching, Rick Wiles and Doc Burkhart unfold the pattern of holy living—atonement leading to fear, obedience leading to peace, and every path brought under the rule of God's providence. In Grace and Peace, Bro, Pastor David Osborne brings a timely and empowering word from Romans 5:12–15, reminding us that while sin entered the world through Adam, an even greater gift—God's grace—has come through Jesus Christ. Tying together the cultural weight of Paul's New Testament greeting “grace and peace,” Pastor David challenges us to not only receive the gift of grace but to live in it and give it away. Grace is not just a concept—it's power for today. As we surrender to God, our weakness becomes strength, chaos is exchanged for peace, and performance gives way to true transformation. This message calls men, fathers, and believers everywhere to walk in the divine grace they've been given and to be living witnesses of God's peace in a world longing for hope.
Main Text: Galatians 5:16–23 (ESV) 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.Preaching Point: God provides abundant peace to those who deliberately seek Him and follow Him. In Romans 5:1–11, we learned that justification leads to a restored personal relationship with God. In Jesus, we are reconciled and can rejoice in our past redemption, even our present sufferings and our future in glory. Our past is redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Our present is increasingly becoming more like Jesus, and our future is secure. * Remember and rejoice in all that Jesus has done for you. He died for you while you were still a sinner, declared you righteous, has given you peace with God. Reconciliation leads to rejoicing! * Recognize and relish your present position: once his enemies, now his friends, given access to grace, joy even in suffering. Reconciliation leads to hope and rejoicing! * Rest in grace and be reassured in your hope for future joy and glory. Reconciliation leads to eternal rejoicing!

"Who are you? That question may sound simple, but it's a haunting mystery for so many. We chase identities, build careers, and seek approval, yet we still feel like puzzle pieces forced into the wrong picture. But what if the key to discovering who you are is first understanding whose you are? In Romans 1:1-7, the Apostle Paul reveals a life-changing truth: grace and peace come from knowing Jesus and living out your God-given purpose.
Ephesians 1:1-2 is the introduction to Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus, but it isn’t simply a greeting. These 2 powerful verses highlight the transforming power of the gospel. Grace saves and brings peace with God, making believers secure in what Jesus accomplished on the cross. The gospel’s power is evident in the miracles and life changes that take place among the Ephesians through Paul’s ministry. Ultimately, the gospel is the foundation of the Christian life, making believers new creations and calling them to reflect Christ’s light in the world.

Many of us are drawn by the beauty of Jesus' life and words. One often underrated and overlooked quality is a genuine affection for the character demonstrated throughout his life. Two words summarize that for us: grace and peace. George taught about how we can reclaim the beauty and power of these words in how we live. Ephesians 1:2 — Why is every word of Scripture vital? In this sermon on grace, peace and glory from Ephesians 1:2, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones expounds the significance of two words: grace and peace. Dr. Lloyd-Jones argues that these two words contain the most profound truths of the Christian faith. Christian lives begin with God's condescended love, His beneficent kindness, and His unmerited favor. In other words, it begins with grace. This unmerited favor begins with the faith of the Christian, whereas peace is the result of their faith. Fallen humanity has a minimal and warped sense of peace. Dr. Lloyd-Jones says “reconciliation” captures the biblical picture of what God promises in peace. The peace that God gives includes peace with God, peace with self, and peace with others. Since God gives what is not deserved, one can give that same grace to others. His peace makes His people peacemakers, even with their enemies, because they sympathize and understand that humanity's core problem is sin. Grace and peace only come through the Lord Jesus Christ. To deny the exclusivity of Christ is a denial of Christianity and the only place where grace, peace, and glory can be found.
