By Matthew Curry - Micah 6:8 instructs us to 'do justly'. This sermon walks through what it means to do justly by using the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard from Matthew 20 as an example.
What Does the Lord Require? The prophet Micah describes the ways that Israel has failed and forgotten God, and it feels like they're in serious trouble. Like they need to repay something to God. So the prophet asks, “what does the Lord require?” It turns out, justice does not mean “equaling the scales” for God. But the Lord requires doing justice, embracing faithful love, and walking humbly with God. | Psalter: Psalm 15 (UMH 747) Micah 6:1-8

Men Naturally Are God's Enemies sections 8 and 9 "Is God obliged to show mercy to his enemies? Is God bound to set his love on them that have no love to him; but hate him with perfect hatred? Is he bound to come and dwell with them that have an aversion to him, and choose to keep at a distance from him, and fly from him as one that is hateful to them? Even should you desire the salvation of your soul, is God bound to comply with your desires, when you always resist and oppose his will? Is God bound to put honor upon you, and to advance you to such dignity as to be a child of the King of kings, and the heir of glory, while at the same time you set him too low to have even the lowest place in your heart?

Where have we grown numb to injustice? It's easy to get overwhelmed by headlines and scroll past suffering on our phones, especially when it doesn't affect us directly, but in Pastor Rob's Sunday message, we learn that the minor prophet Micah doesn't let us off the hook easily. The prophet reminds us that God doesn't just want church attendance, or empty religious rituals. God wants this: “To act justly, love mercy & walk humbly with our God.”Rob HallJuly 6, 2025The Book of MicahHope in the Darkwww.newnorth.church
When you're righteous, you can confidently ask God for both justice and mercy for people who hurt you, because he himself is righteous.

In this episode I have a Trump-esque hair day, but, more importantly, we will close out Book 3 of Meditations by working through Meditation 3.16, which challenges us to recognize that there's nothing supernatural about goodness. Our bodies, impulses, and rational faculties are the same as those of the worst villains and even the simplest beasts. What sets the good person apart is their commitment to making Virtuous choices — embracing Fate, preserving their rational mind, and acting Justly. I offer a little tough love in this episode, reminding us all that our moral failings are our responsibility alone. Then, after the break, I answer a listener question: Should a Stoic rebel against a corrupt government if it can help a revolution? We explore how Stoics can participate in revolutions Justly, choosing roles that align with their nature and skills, always guided by reason rather than emotion. MEDITATION QUOTED:"Only this remains unique to the good person: that they love and embrace all that fate weaves for them. And also that they do not soil or disturb the divine presence seated in their breast, but instead work to preserve it. They do this by not speaking lies, and by acting justly rather than unjustly. And if anyone disbelieves that we live in these ways, we are not vexed by them nor do we turn against them, nor do we turn from our path toward the end of life — to which we must work to arrive pure, peaceful, comfortable with Fate, and ready to depart." — Meditations 3.16 THREE TAKEAWAYS: — We are not made good by nature, but by conscious choice. — Moral failings are not caused by external circumstances, but by voluntary decisions. — Stoic involvement in revolution must be rational, Just, and aligned with one's natural roles. By Edward Dowd - Many people today desire to apply judgement, mercy, and faith without the law. But is it possible to still apply justice, mercy, and faith without the law?

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson and Paul Jay analyze Trump's 2024 victory, attributing Harris's failure in part to a campaign that avoided progressive policies that would lower the cost of living - to please billionaire donors. Wilkerson warns of a climate catastrophe and a draconian Trump administration that leads to the collapse of American society. Jay argues Harris's defeat creates an opening for a broad democratic, independent movement that takes control of the Democratic Party at state and local levels. Both emphasize organizing in major cities in Democratic-controlled states, focusing on mobilizing the working poor, urban and rural, who usually don't vote - a potentially game-changing constituency the Democratic establishment has ignored. TranscriptListenDonateSubscribeGuestMusic Paul Jay Hi, welcome to theAnalysis.news. I'm Paul Jay. As you'll notice, I'm in my brand new artificial intelligence studio. In the last interview I did with Larry Wilkerson, I got so many complaints about how everything looked. Justly so. I did something about it, so I hope this is at least an improvement. Joining me in just a few seconds will be Larry Wilkerson. We're going to talk about the election results. Don't forget, there's a donation button you can click. You'll always get to see us there. We'll be back in a few seconds with Larry Wilkerson. Now, joining us to talk about the election results in the United States, which is the beginning of a new era of a return- was that back to the future? Now, joining us is Larry, who doesn't need any introduction to our normal viewers and to most people who follow the news. Thanks for joining us, Larry. Col. Lawrence Wilkerson Good to be with you, Paul. By the way, did you get my cheque? Paul Jay No. Col. Lawrence Wilkerson I mailed it about 10 days ago, so it should be getting there. Paul Jay Oh, well, thank you. Yeah, that's terrific. If people want to donate, that'd be great. All right, so let's talk about what happened. I'm blown away at what an awful campaign the leadership of the Democratic Party conducted. It wasn't something I said once I saw the results. I was saying it all through the campaign. Kamala Harris simply would not answer in any straightforward way almost any real question, but particularly the most important economic question. She would not answer why inflation is coming down, but the cost of living is not on the whole, especially food, rent, and other basic necessities. She never answered why that's happening, and she never said what she would do about it. There's some talk about price gouging, but she actually never said how she would stop that and more or less stopped talking about that as the campaign came to its conclusion. The most important things that need to be talked about, i.e., the existential threats facing America and the world, the climate crisis, almost not a word, and the issue of the threat of nuclear war. In fact, the only person to mention it at all, really, was Trump, and only when he's talking about his crazy Iron Dome proposal to create a new anti-ballistic missile system, which we'll talk about as we get into the interview. In the course of this, let's talk about these three things I'd like to talk about. But first, just your basic reaction, and then we can get into these three areas. Col. Lawrence Wilkerson Frankly, I was stunned by the results, and not because I wasn't watching the polls. I was, but I don't trust the polls anymore. They're too much aligned with interests that back them.
