Have you ever felt lost trying to understand the Book of Revelation? Or wondered how God guides us, step by step, even when we feel like "little children"? This video reveals profound answers from Doctrine & Covenants 77-80! Summary: This comprehensive lesson unpacks the rich teachings of Doctrine & Covenants 77-80, offering insights into God's methods of revelation, personal development, and church organization. We begin by tackling the symbolic language of the Book of Revelation (D&C 77), exploring the meaning behind the "sea of glass," "four beasts," and the significance of "eyes" (knowledge) and "wings" (agency). Discover the purpose of the seven seals and the identity of the angels, including Elias, who gathers Israel and places the "seal of the living God" upon the foreheads of the faithful. Next, we delve into the practicalities of building Zion (D&C 78) through the establishment of the United Firm (later the United Order). Learn how this organization regulates the "storehouse for the poor," fosters "equality in the bonds of heavenly things," and prepares God's people to "stand independent" amidst tribulation. This section emphasizes the crucial role of commandments, councils, and unbreakable covenants in achieving unity and protecting against spiritual blindness. We then focus on personal growth (D&C 78), understanding that while we may often feel like "little children," God patiently leads us along, knowing we "cannot bear all things now". This highlights the importance of receiving all things with thankfulness and becoming "faithful and wise stewards". Finally, we explore the sacred nature of mission calls (D&C 79-80). Whether serving abroad or at home, we are assured that "it mattereth not, for ye cannot go amiss" as we declare the things we have heard, believe, and know to be true. This process of gaining testimony, coupled with the companionship of the Holy Ghost, empowers us to fulfill our divine assignments. Call-to-Action: What insights from these revelations resonated most with you? How have you experienced God patiently leading you along? Share your thoughts and questions in the comments below! Tom, age seven, admired his dad’s shiny trophies from school track events sitting on a shelf. He thought, I want one of those for my bedroom. So he asked, “Dad, can I have one of your trophies?” The man surprisingly answered, “No, Tom, those are mine. I earned them, and you can earn your own.” Then they made a plan that if he ran around the block in a certain amount of time (he knew his son could do it), he would give him a trophy of his own. Tom practiced with his dad’s guidance, and a week later his dad cheered him on as ran the race in time. Tom learned lessons in self-discipline and hard work, and his dad congratulated him with an award. Proverbs 1:8 encourages children to “listen . . . to your father’s instruction.” Tom’s dad also taught him about running the race of life with Jesus and listening to His leading. He instructed him about choosing “what is right and just and fair,” as the father in Proverbs did (v. 3). A father’s teachings are valuable: “a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck” (v. 9). You may not have a father to instruct you in your race with Christ. But God can lead you to a mentor who can pass along their wisdom. Or perhaps God is calling you to mentor someone. He’ll give you guidance as you’re active with others in running the race.

“God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry?” — Jonah 4:9 Anger is not always or necessarily sinful, but it has such a tendency to run wild that whenever it displays itself, we should be quick to question its character, with this enquiry, “Doest thou well to be angry?” It may be that […]
“When I cry unto Thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.” — Psalm 56:9 It is impossible for any human speech to express the full meaning of this delightful phrase, “God is for me.” He was “for us” before the worlds were made; He was “for us,” […]
Bible Reading: Romans 6:5-11Evan and James were hunting for wild edible mushrooms with their family. "Got one!" Evan yelled. "Wow, that one's a whopper!" James said. "Just make sure you know it's the right type," Dad warned. "You know the rule: One hundred percent sure, then take the treasure." They mushroom-hunted for a couple hours, driven by the hope of mushroom soup. "My mouth is already watering for mom's delicious soup!" Evan said. "Yeah!" James replied. "Mom is probably the best cook in town!" "I don't know about that," Mom said. "There are lots of good cooks out there." "Well, you're still a really good cook!" Evan and James said in unison, making the whole family laugh. After heading home, the two boys stood outside the kitchen, breathing in the wonderful smells. When the soup was done, the boys raced to be the first to the table. After giving thanks, they gulped it down. "This soup could be called new life soup," Dad said. "The mushrooms in it grow on dead wood. Though the tree has died, the mushrooms come alive by feeding on the nutrients in the wood. They're an example of death leading to new life.""Wow!" Evan said. "I didn't know that mushrooms grow on dead things.""I know of something else that has new life too," Mom said. "Can you guys guess what it is?" "A caterpillar turning into a butterfly?" James guessed. "Snakes getting new skin?" Evan added. "Good guesses, but I was thinking of something else," Mom replied. "Me!""You?" James asked. "How do you have new life?" "You two can have it too!" said Mom. "It comes from Jesus, our Savior. The Bible says every one of us is a sinner. When we confess our sins and trust Jesus to save us, our old, sinful self dies, and He gives us new life with Him!""Wow!" James said. "That's even cooler than mushrooms growing on dead logs." "Yeah," Evan agreed. "I want to ask Jesus to give me new life right now!" "Me too!" James said. Mom smiled at them and said, "Let's read some verses together and pray." –Elijah GollHow About You?Are you excited when you fix a broken toy? Are you happy when you make an old thing new again? Mike exhorts us to prepare our hearts here on earth so that they might be conformed to God, ready to unite with him forever in heaven. The Eucharist is a most excellent path to such unity. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1402-1405. “Can we take Jesus literally as the Bread of Life?” This episode explores the nuances of interpreting Jesus’ words, addressing the Protestant claim about literalism and metaphor. Additionally, we delve into the nature of hell and God’s mercy, and discuss how to approach conversations with Protestants regarding the intercession of saints. Tune in for a thoughtful exploration of these important topics. Join The CA Live Club Newsletter: Click Here Invite our apologists to speak at your parish! Visit Catholicanswersspeakers.com Questions Covered: 07:29 – Protestant claim we shouldn’t take Jesus literally when he says that he is the bread of life because he also says he is a door. What is the best response to this? 15:37 – How do we know that hell is forever and how do we justify God being merciful with that reality being taken into consideration? 23:26 – What angle can we use when talking to protestants when discussing the intercession of the saints. It seems like they get hung up on the ‘praying to' wording. 35:21 – Since Jesus is omniscient and omnipotent, did that take away from his suffering? 43:46 – Why is it uncommon to pray to Old Testament saints? 47:16 – I've heard it said that the reason Satan fell was because he knew God would become man. Wouldn’t this imply that Satan has some kind of foreknowledge?

Why did God set his saving love on his people before the foundation of the world? So that we might praise the glory of his sovereign grace.
Neda was born in Iran to a Muslim family. She grew up as a Muslim and married a well-known Iranian athlete. But their marriage was on the rocks. At 22, feeling broken and empty, Neda called out to Allah for help. But she found no solace, and grew angry and disillusioned with a god that refused to answer her prayers. As Neda's heart continued searching, God supernaturally told a family member living in the Netherlands to go back to Iran and share the gospel of Jesus. Neda came to faith in Christ through her relative's witness and her life was radically transformed. Her husband, surprised and amazed by the change he saw in her, placed his trust in Jesus too. God faithfully restored their marriage and called them to ministry. Neda drew strength from the stories of other persecuted Christians. She read a story in a book from The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) about a girl who was assaulted and became pregnant. Yet she responded with remarkable faith by entrusting everything, even her body, to God. God used this story to teach Neda about the importance of obedience and sacrifice despite fear of persecution and threats of imprisonment and violence. Over the next thirteen years, Neda and her husband faced increasing persecution from the Islamic government. In one incident, officials raided their home and threatened her husband at gunpoint. She and her husband ultimately decided to leave Iran, yet they continue to serve from abroad through Iran Alive Ministries. Neda encourages every Christian to lay down their own desires and fully surrender to God's will—even when it means taking up their cross and enduring suffering and persecution. She also shares specific ways to pray for Christians in Iran during the current turmoil there. The VOM App for your smartphone or tablet will help you pray daily for persecuted Christians—in Iran and other nations—throughout the year, as well as provide free access to e-books, audiobooks, video content and feature films. Download the VOM App for your iOS or Android device today.

For far too long, homosexual activists have tried to twist Scripture to make it look as though the Bible supports same-sex attraction. Joe Dallas will join us to discuss another book recently released that tries, yet again, to make it look like God’s love knows no bounds – and therefore, there really is no need for repentance from sin. Using the ‘straight stick of God’s truth’ as our metric, we will examine some twisted ideas being ‘sold’ in the marketplace of ideas.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After years of discipling Caleb by himself, Mark was dismayed to find out that a church leader had assigned another mentor to the young man. The leader remarked, “Finally, Caleb has a mentor.” What did they think I was doing all these years? Mark wondered. Though he had not expected any reward or recognition, he couldn’t help feeling hurt. Years later, however, Caleb told Mark that he had entered Caleb’s life just when he most needed spiritual guidance. On hearing these encouraging words, Mark came to this realization: God gives believers in Jesus specific gifts to serve Him differently—without comparing with others—and He controls the timing. In 1 Corinthians 12:4-31, Paul stresses the value of members of the body having different gifts, roles, and assignments, while remembering the ultimate source of the results: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow” (3:6). Each of us may be given a unique season and opportunity to do God’s work. Unlike people, God doesn’t compare our work, for He loves us as individuals. May we keep our eyes and hearts focused on doing our best in the season that God has given us—relying completely on His strength and empowerment—and not worry about what others achieve in their own way and time.

Read Online“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27A scribe asked Jesus what he needed to do to inherit eternal life. Jesus asked the scribe what the Law of Moses taught. The above line was the scribe's response. He was essentially quoting Deuteronomy 6:4, which was a common prayer prayed by the Jews and seen as a summary of the entire Law of Moses as found in the Ten Commandments.Notice that this summary of the Law does not present a negative prohibition such as “Thou shalt not…” Instead, it is a positive command stating, “Thou shalt love…” Love is the fulfillment of the Law of the Old Testament, as well as the fulfillment of the New Law of Christ. When we love God with our whole being, that love overflows upon all of God's creatures, including our neighbor. In this Gospel, the scribe goes on to ask Jesus who His neighbor is. Jesus responds by telling the Parable of the Good Samaritan. In that parable, there was a man beaten and left for dead on the side of the road. A priest and a Levite passed by and ignored the man. But a Samaritan passed by and took care of the man, bringing him to an inn and vowing to pay for his recovery. The story concludes by the Samaritan being identified as the one who acted as a neighbor to the victim.Traditionally, the victim of the robbers in this story has been seen as Adam. Adam represents fallen humanity. The Samaritan represents Jesus who cared for fallen humanity, healed us of sin and provided for our every need. Therefore, according to this parable, Jesus has acted as a neighbor to us, and we must love Him as we love ourselves. But Jesus also says, “Go and do likewise.” This is a commission to fallen humanity, now healed of sin, to go forth to others, acting as Jesus Himself, bringing the healing grace they have been given and bestowing it upon others generously.Sometimes we can see love as a feeling or emotion. Though love is often accompanied by certain emotions and feelings, love is much more. It is an action. In this parable, if the Samaritan simply looked upon the victim and felt sorry for him, had compassion for him but then moved on, he would not have shown love. The love of charity is an action and requires much of us. If we are to fulfill this first and greatest commandment of love of God and neighbor, then we cannot wait until we feel like loving to act. Instead, we must act now and not hesitate. This is love.Reflect, today, upon the true nature of love. Love, in its most elevated form, is the choice to do what is best for others—to help free them from sin and to be an instrument of God's providence in their lives. It's a participation in the very love that God has shown us in Christ Jesus by giving His life for our salvation. We are all called to devote ourselves to this same form of selfless and sacrificial love. Doing so is a requirement for the glorious sharing in eternal life.My loving Lord, You have given everything to fallen humanity. You have freed us from sin and provided for all of our needs. You have acted as a true neighbor in every way. Please give me the grace I need to imitate You and to participate in the love You have for others. May I truly act and never hesitate to bestow on others the charitable love to which I am called. We tend to be excellent at things that will not last forever such as our jobs, our families, or even our sin. Some of those things are not bad things to be skilled at, but we need to make sure that we are putting in all that it takes to be excellent in our spiritual lives rather than settling for being so-so.
Daily Study: What holds most Christians in business back from maximal success is this nagging question in the back of their mind: Is pursuing money okay? This uncertainty has them charging less money than they should or wanting to give their products and services away for free. Due to worldly and churchly pressures, we are inundated with messages that say making money is bad, from Hollywood to the Pulpit. They see the pursuit of profit in business as a necessary evil at best, and at worst they see pursuing profit as taking from society and the poor. There are very few things that the world and the church agree on, and it seems like that they both have deemed pursuing profit as bad. However, this thought process will hold you back from fulfilling what God has called you to do in business. TODAY'S DEVOTION: There is a second room, and in it are symbols of a second chance. That's what the writer of Hebrews is telling us. There is the holy place, the first room. But then he talks about the second room. In that room is a box containing symbols. In that box there is manna, the symbol of God's provision, care and love. There is also a staff in the box. It represents God's judgment, His wisdom and his rule. And there are tablets. These speak of his law and his righteousness. These are artifacts and tokens of God's kingdom. The symbols of the kingdom are all covered up in a box. And the cover of the box is called the atonement seat. It seems as if the vestiges of this greatly desired kingdom are shut up, locked up in this box, out of reach. Access to these sparse tokens was granted only once a year, and only to one person. When that person entered this second room, he offered a sacrifice of blood on the atonement seat where these symbols of the kingdom reside. It's almost as if he were trying to open the box and that kingdom life by the shedding of the blood. He would enter that room year after year, hoping to unlock, as it were, the gifts of kingdom life. But the key to the lock on this box could not be opened by the shedding of the blood of calves and goats. Releasing the power of these kingdom symbols requires a far greater sacrifice than the blood of goats and bulls. There's only one person that can open up these treasures. God has sent his own high priest into the second room. He has offered his own blood on the seat of atonement. And with the sacrifice of His Son, we are given full access into kingdom life. Now we can know and experience his love. We can know his judgments and wisdom in our life. We can live righteously before him, because now His Spirit resides in us and his laws are written on our hearts. Our champion, Christ, has gone into the second room and offered his blood on the atonement seat for the whole world. The treasures of that box have been opened up for all. We no longer need to send our man in once a year to look at a box with scraps and tokens of a kingdom long ago, filled with failed dreams and distant hopes. No, these symbols point us to what Christ has done for the world once for all time. He has won the treasures of kingdom life for all, here and now. So let's not live on scraps and tokens and remnants of some distant hope. He went into that second room for us and he has opened up the treasures of life, life in his kingdom today. And the prayer of my own heart today is that I will see what he has done, that I will rest in his completed work, and that I will know his joy. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord of heaven and earth, you have awakened us in your mercy once more. Still our anxious minds, quiet our striving hearts and help us to rest in the knowledge that we are held by you. May we walk in step with your spirit today, not ahead, not behind, but beside you in trust and love through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. O God of all peoples, you formed every soul in your image and breathed life into every heart. Open the eyes of the nations, soften hearts grown cold and teach us to live as neighbors and friends. Let your spirit move in power, renew the face of the earth and usher in your reign of peace. Amen. And now, Lord, let me be a bearer of your peace. Where voices divide, let me speak grace; where fear takes root, let me plant trust; where the world rushes on, let me walk with you. May I seek not to climb, but to kneel, not to win, but to love, not to grasp, but to give. For it is in emptying that we are filled, in surrender, that we are strengthened and in union with you, that we find our truest joy. Amen. And now, as our Lord has taught us, we are bold to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation. Bible Reading: Isaiah 41:8-10"Oh no! No, no, no! Get me off this thing! Mom, make them stop!" Carrie squirmed nervously as the seat she was strapped into began to rise higher and higher into the air.Mom laughed and grabbed Carrie's hand. "Sorry, honey, but I think it's too late to get off now. Believe me, you're going to love it! It's just a little scary right now."Carrie continued to whimper as the ride climbed higher, and she gave a little shriek as the seats bumped into place high up in the air."It's okay," Mom reassured her. "I'm right here with you. You're going to be fine.""Okay," Carrie said, squeezing Mom's hand tight. She looked down at the park below them. "Hey, Mom, it's actually kind of cool to see everything from up here. I can see--aaaaahhhh!" Carrie screamed as the ride suddenly dropped.Mom screamed too, and then they were both laughing as the ride bounced back up and down a few more times before finally settling back down on the ground."Mom, that was so much fun! Can we go on it again?"Mom laughed. "Are you sure? I thought you wanted to get off before.""Oh. Yeah, well, I did, but I just held on to your hand and tried not to be scared, and it was still pretty scary at first, but then it was really fun!" Carrie took a deep breath and grinned. "I want to go again."As they waited in line, Mom said, "You know, Carrie, this ride made me think of you being nervous about starting a new school in a few weeks. It can help remind you that you don't have to be afraid when you're facing something scary in life. Jesus is right there with you, and it's like He's holding your hand. You don't have to be afraid--and you might even find out that whatever you're afraid of is really a great thing for you."Carrie nodded thoughtfully. "I'll try to remember that, Mom." She started walking as the attendant motioned them forward. "I know Jesus is with me, but will you still hold my hand during the ride?""Sure, honey. No problem." Mom laughed and gave Carrie's hand a quick squeeze. –Robyn MulderHow About You?Are you facing something scary in your life right now--something much bigger than a ride at an amusement park? Jesus said, “My peace I leave with you.” Very likely, when we pray, peace is often what we ask for - peace in the world, peace at home, and maybe most of all, peace in our relationships - but what did Jesus mean when He said His peace?
