Send us a textGood morning! Thank you for taking a few minutes to listen. If you are interested in the Daily Bible Devotional, you can find it at the links below:Amazon - (paperback, hardcover, and Kindle)Spiritbuilding.com - (premium quality paperback)Youtube Video Introducing the ContentFeel free to reach out with any questions: emersonk78@me.comActs 26 Paul defends himself before King Agrippa by recalling his life, his conversion to Christ, and his mission for God. He begins with his strict upbringing as a Pharisee and his zealous persecution of Christians. Paul then describes his dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, where he was blinded and chosen to become a witness to both Jews and Gentiles. He explains how Jesus commissioned him to open the eyes of others, converting them from darkness to light and from Satan to God. Paul's message from Jesus emphasizes the forgiveness of sins for those who repent and turn to God. Festus interrupts, accusing Paul of madness, but Paul remains composed and appeals to Agrippa's understanding of the prophets. Agrippa is impressed but chooses not to respond to the gospel.  Paul's defense starts with a recounting of his past before Christ redirected him. This illustrates his humility, as he acknowledges that he believed he knew what was right but was mistaken and needed to repent. We should share aspects of our journey before coming to Christ when possible. This is a wonderful way to give all glory to the grace of Christ, who redirects and redeems us. Paul further explains that Jesus has given him a mission, which is why he risks his life and remains tireless in his teaching. Like Paul, we should be honest and bold about our mission of service to Christ, living with integrity, and challenging others with scripture in a wise and hopeful manner.  Great God of kindness and grace, thank You for bringing us through our sinful past and to a place of hope and faith. Please help us to always give glory to You for who we are in Christ Jesus. Open doors today to share our story with others, to praise the name of Jesus, and invite others to repent and turn to the Lord so that times of refreshing will come. Will You please soften the hearts of people like Agrippa, who are so close to committing their lives to Christ? How can we help? Use us for Your redemptive work today. Thought Questions: -       How was God patient with you in the years before you became a Christian? Is that a story that can help someone believe in God's grace? -       Do you believe God has a mission for your life? From what you know today, what is that mission? Are you passionately engaged in it? -       Agrippa was almost persuaded, but something held him back. Who can you pray for today who has that mindset and needs encouragement?

Segment 2: • If churches are being disfellowshipped for female pastors, why not codify the standard? • Fear of man, cultural compromise, or fear of shrinking numbers? • SBC votes to keep the ERLC—why are we funding institutions that reflect the culture more than Christ? Segment 3: • Newsboys singer admits years of sinful living—how should Christians respond? • Discernment needed: are we gossiping or redeeming? • Real repentance or damage control? How we judge reveals more about us than them. Segment 4: • Can someone live in unrepentant sin for 20 years and still be a believer? • The key question isn't “when were you saved?” but “are you saved right now?” • Deception is powerful—and the local church is the safeguard God provides. ___ Thanks for listening! Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar discuss the controversial topic of capital punishment, highlighting its complexity and the wide spectrum of beliefs among Christians. While some believers stand firmly for the death penalty, others oppose it with equal conviction. Christians are called to seek biblical truth with humility, not pride, even in secondary issues where disagreement is allowed. Jesus often responded to difficult questions with another question, inviting deeper thought rather than debate. Ray supports the death penalty in principle but recognizes the flaws in the justice system, pointing out how false witnesses in Scripture and in history have led to unjust executions. The guys agree that capital punishment must be handled with care, remembering that each life involved—perpetrator or victim—bears the image of God.Genesis 9:6 and Romans 13:1-4 are cited as the strongest scriptural support for the death penalty, with God affirming the sanctity of life by requiring justice for the shedding of innocent blood. E.Z. emphasizes that those in authority are placed by God, whether as a blessing or judgment, and voters must be mindful of this truth. Still, the group stresses that decisions involving life and death should never be made flippantly. Oscar approaches the issue with humility, offering three lenses of hesitation: spiritual, philosophical, and practical. He references Augustine's concern that executing someone may mar the image of God, though Augustine wasn't completely opposed to it. Yet others in the group argue that removing someone who claims lives is actually honoring life and protecting society. The guys discuss the tension between grace and justice. Some argue capital punishment is mercy to the victims and society, preventing re-offense. Others say prolonging life on death row offers more time for repentance. This tension surfaces often: should mercy delay justice, or should justice be swift for the sake of the victims? There's also the question of honoring the victim's dignity and preventing additional harm to their families.Throughout, the group warns against personal retribution, reminding listeners that Scripture differentiates between personal responsibility and the role of government. They caution against cherry-picking verses and advocate for reading Scripture in context, letting Scripture interpret Scripture. True wisdom is found in seeking the Lord, studying His Word, and engaging in fellowship. While opinions may vary, the guys agree on one thing: may the Lord help us think deeply and biblically, with both compassion and conviction.Send us a textThanks for listening! It's Thursday, June 12th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Escalating persecution of Christians in Africa International Christian Concern released a new report on the escalating persecution of Christians in Africa.  Targeted attacks are increasing in countries with large Christian populations like Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Kenya.  The report documented attacks that have killed hundreds of Christians in Africa this year. These attacks not only involve brutal killings, but also abductions and displacement. They are often perpetrated by Islamic militant groups.  Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in Africa.  Conservatives arrested for protesting transgenderism Belgian police arrested two conservative activists last Thursday in Brussels, Belgium for protesting transgenderism. Lois Miller, a Senior Legal Communications Officer with Alliance Defending Freedom International, was holding a sign that read: “Children are never born in the wrong body.” And Canadian child protection advocate Chris Elston was holding a sign that read: “Children cannot consent to puberty blockers.”  The two activists called the police after facing aggressive harassment from bystanders. However, the police decided to arrest Miller and Elston! Listen to comments from Miller. MILLER: “They saw that a mob was formed. They saw that we were in the minority, that we were the ones that were being attacked. And instead of standing up for our rights to have those conversations about really important topics to Belgians everywhere, instead they took us away and they let the mob go free.” Proverbs 17:15 says, “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” Progress in U.S.-Chinese trade talks U.S. President Donald Trump announced a preliminary trade deal with China yesterday. Trump said China will provide rare earth minerals and magnets to America and that the U.S. would restart Chinese student visas.  U.S. tariffs on imports from China stand at 55 percent, while Chinese tariffs on imports from the U.S. stand at 10 percent. Total tariffs between the two countries reached 245 percent before trade talks began. Congress might repeal pro-abortion Freedom of Access to Clinics Entrances Act The U.S. House Judiciary Committee advanced a bill this week to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act also known as the FACE Act. The Biden administration used the act to target peaceful, pro-life activists. Between 1994 and 2024, 97 percent of FACE Act prosecutions were against pro-lifers.  Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas said, “With a Republican-led Congress and President Trump's support, we can repeal this law and protect free speech for all.” Clarification on religious groups story from yesterday We apologize for any confusion from our story yesterday about the growth of religious groups around the world. To clarify, the total number of Christians did increase from 2.1 billion to 2.3 billion between 2010 and 2020. However, as a percentage of the world's population, Christianity actually decreased from 30.6 percent to 28.8 percent over the same time period. You see, even though the number of Christians grew over that decade, it did not grow fast enough to keep up with global population growth, especially the fertility rate of Muslims, and thus Christians decreased as a percentage of the world's population. Religious instruction under public school umbrella Public school students in Iowa can now take courses in religious instruction. Iowan Republican Governor Kim Reynolds signed the bill into law last Friday. The measure allows parents to send their children to religious instruction provided by a private group during the school day. Greg Chafuen, senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, said, “Parents have the right and responsibility to guide the upbringing and education of their children. The government should not stop families from raising their children in their family's faith.” Southern Baptists call for overturn of Obergefell homosexual marriage ruling The Southern Baptist Convention adopted multiple resolutions this week on the topics of marriage, sexuality, and human life. One resolution called for the overturning of the U.S. Supreme Court's Obergefell v. Hodges ruling which legalized faux homosexual marriage. Another resolution called for Congress and state legislatures to ban chemical abortion drugs. And a third resolution called for the banning of pornographic content.  Representatives to the Southern Baptist Convention urged, “all Southern Baptists to advocate in the public square for laws and policies that reflect the moral order revealed in Scripture and nature, and to bear witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which alone restores broken lives, redeems sin, and brings eternal hope.” Psalm 119:46 says, “I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.” Worldview listeners in England, Canada and Texas share their hearts I invited Worldview listeners to share what they enjoyed about the newscast in 2-6 sentences. You can share your thoughts -- along with your  full name, city and state -- and send it to adam@theworldview.com Dan from Gloucestershire, England wrote, “Hi Adam. I love The Worldview for the information you share and how you relate a couple of your stories to the Bible with specific verses. Keep up the good work.” Priscilla Lipp in Calgary, Alberta, Canada wrote, “I enjoy getting a snippet of world news from a Christian perspective. Refreshing, with reports I won't hear on Canadian mainstream media. My husband, several grown children, and a neighboring couple have also signed up.” And Patricia Herbst – on behalf of Luis, Tricia, Natalie, Nichole, and Luciano -- in Kyle, Texas wrote, “I want to thank you for the incredible blessing your ministry has been to our family. “Through your curriculum, app, and daily broadcasts, we've been consistently enriched with wisdom, truth, and discipleship. My husband, children, and I are growing in faith because of your efforts. You are truly a gift from God, and we're so grateful for your faithfulness.” 7 Worldview listeners gave $815 to fund our annual budget And finally, toward our midpoint goal of $61,750 to fund half of The Worldview newscast's annual budget by this Friday, June 13th, 7 listeners stepped up to the plate. Biblically-minded folks in the SBC need to wake up to the reality that these progressive activists are playing the long game. What we're seeing now might look like a slap on the wrist—but don't be fooled. They've already taken five steps forward, and now they'll take one step back to appease the masses. That one step back will feel significant enough that many will wrongly believe the issue has been resolved. But it's classic Saul Alinsky strategy.Conservatives must stop playing defense. It's time to go for the throat on this. The ERLC must be dismantled.

In this episode of Catholic Answers Live, Joe Heschmeyer we discusses a wide range of questions on Catholic doctrine and apologetics. Topics include: when salvation occurs in the case of baptism of desire, the difference between sacrifices due to God and those made for others, and how to respond to Protestants who claim unity isn’t needed if we all share the fruits of the Spirit. Joe also addresses how to explain the word “Catholic” in the Apostles' Creed to non-Catholics, whether Muslims worship the same God as Christians, biblical evidence for Mary's perpetual virginity, and how to counter gnostic-sounding claims about sin being “in the body.” Join The CA Live Club Newsletter: Click Here Invite our apologists to speak at your parish! Visit Catholicanswersspeakers.com Questions Covered: 08:58 – In the case of baptism of desire, when is the person saved? 17:57 – What type of sacrifice is due to God alone? As opposed to the type of sacrifices we make for others. 29:02 – If Protestants have fruits of the Spirit, some see that as a deterrent to unity (why seek unity when we all have fruits of the Spirit). How do we respond to that? 34:21 – My parents are Presbyterian. They see the word “Catholic” in the apostles' creed and say that since Catholic means universal it's simply referring to all the churches. How do we respond to that? 38:25 – The CCC says Muslims worship the same God as Abraham. How do we understand that since Muslims don't think they worship the same God as us? 44:12 – Where in the Bible can we find Mary's perpetual virginity? 51:25 – My friend thinks that sin is “in” the body. So when we die we don't have sin because we don't have our body. To me that sounds like gnosticism, but he doesn't think it is. How can I respond to him?

In particular, she argues that abortion is the murder of an innocent human person. She also tries to show that anti-abortion advocates affirm a full “culture of life,” and are not only concerned with the unborn. But are her arguments convincing? What does it mean to be a “human person,” and why does this matter? Can a theologically conservative Christian like Stuckey even affirm that humans are ever truly “innocent” in the first place? Does she really show that conservative Christians care about human life in a holistic way that encompasses more than the unborn? Listen to this week's episode as Dan answers these questions. Many Christians and churches talk about “community,” but unless that community is formed and continually built up by God's Word, it can become just another gathering where human opinions and human wisdom take center stage. In this message from 2 Timothy 3:10–4:8, David Platt encourages the church to look to Scripture for its wisdom and strength. As God's Spirit applies God's Word to God's people, the church begins to look increasingly like a God-centered community.Explore more content from Radical.

They charge Paul with causing dissension, leading a sect, and attempting to desecrate the temple. In his defense, Paul asserts that he worships the God of his ancestors, believes in the resurrection, and strives to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people. Felix postpones his decision, keeping Paul in custody while allowing him certain freedoms. Felix frequently calls for Paul, intrigued by his teachings on faith in Christ, righteousness, and judgment. However, Felix seeks a bribe from Paul, which he refuses to pay. Unfortunately, Felix does not respond to the gospel and, after being replaced by Festus two years later, leaves Paul imprisoned.  Accusers are adamant that Paul is a divisive man who deserves punishment. Considering this, Paul presents a compelling defense. He shows respect to the Governor and calmly recounts his recent actions in Jerusalem, asserting that the accusations are baseless. He directs attention to God, in whom he believes and places his hope. He points out that he and his opponents share a love for God and a belief in the resurrection of the dead. Paul emphasizes that he has acted with a clear conscience every step of the way. This sincerity resonated with Felix, who often invited Paul to teach about Jesus. This entire discourse is an example to us of how to testify about Jesus with integrity.  Dear Lord, please protect Your people from the unrighteous in this world. Some openly deny You, while others believe themselves to be righteous. We pray that You stop their ungodly actions and soften their hearts to know Jesus. Whenever we encounter such unbelievers, grant us wisdom and patience to share Your truth with the right attitude and intent. May it never be about ourselves but always about honoring You and opening the hearts of others to Christ. Create opportunities today to discuss righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come. Challenge us to live by these fundamental truths in our lives.  Thought Questions: -       Paul was labeled “a real pest.” While not the description Christians seek, are you willing to be labeled if it means standing up for God?  -       Is there an appropriate way to defend yourself against accusations? How do you do so while also honoring God in the process? -       Felix heard the truth but kept procrastinating. What is the danger of putting off important spiritual truths for a later time?

In this episode of The Cordial Catholic, I'm joined by Jannah Russell to share her remarkable Catholic conversion story. Raised in the Jehovah's Witness tradition, Jannah explains how her and her husband became disillusioned with the group, eventually leaving, and rediscovering faith on their own. Their journey, ever seeking the truth of Christ and His Church, led them into Evangelical Christianity where experiences around Communion, baptism, and the interpretation of Scripture set off some of the same alarm bells they'd heard as Jehovah's Witnesses – and that compelled them to begin their journey in the first place! Those alarm bells drove them deeper into Scripture, into Church history and the Church Fathers, and from there, the slow realization that maybe, despite their deepest reservations, they needed to explore Catholicism. This is a truly remarkable story and not only because Jannah managed to tell it while single-handedly taking care of 4 kids (because her husband had to work late!) but because it's a kind of microcosm of some of the same issues that comes up in Protestant Christianity writ large – playing out for two Christ-seeking believers leaving the grasp of a pretty intense Christian sect. It's not a conversation you're going to want to miss! Send your feedback to cordialcatholic@gmail.com. It's Wednesday, June 11th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Islamic legal system discourages Christian conversion in Brunei, Iran & Yemen Christians face significant persecution in countries that follow Sharia law like Brunei, Iran, and Yemen.  The Islamic legal system is used to ban people from converting out of Islam to another religion.  International Christian Concern notes, “The abuse inflicted upon the Christians of these nations is an open secret.  … Forcing Christians into prisons — often under the guise of slanderous accusations, sexually assaulting Christian women, and forcing Christ followers into demeaning work has become commonplace in far too many nations.” Muslims experienced highest growth rate among religions Pew Research released a report on the growth of religious groups in the world between 2010 and 2020. All religious groups except Buddhists increased numerically during the time frame. Muslims grew the most, followed by the religiously unaffiliated. Christians increased by about five percent from 2.1 billion to 2.3 billion people.  As a share of the global population, only Muslims and the religiously unaffiliated experienced growth. Christians and Buddhists decreased as a share of the global population while Hindus, Jews, and other religions held steady. Muslims have a notably higher fertility rate than other religious groups around the world. Supreme Court affirmed right of Catholic group to tax exemption In the United States, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of a Catholic nonprofit last Thursday. The state of Wisconsin had denied a tax exemption for the Catholic Charities Bureau in 2016. The case went before the state Supreme Court which ruled against the nonprofit.  Nick Reaves, an attorney at Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, commented on the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling. He said, “When every justice agrees and says ‘Yes, this is foundational to our understanding of religious freedom, that you can't discriminate among religions,' that's really exciting for us.” RFK Jr. replaced entire Advisory Committee on Immunization The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is replacing the 17 members of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices. The committee makes vaccine recommendations to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Biden administration had appointed all 17 members. Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. stated, “A clean sweep is necessary to reestablish public confidence in vaccine science. ACIP's new members will prioritize public health and evidence-based medicine. The Committee will no longer function as a rubber stamp for industry profit-taking agendas.” The younger the kids of divorce, the worse the trauma The National Bureau of Economic Research released a report last month about the effects of divorce on children. The study noted that nearly a third of American children experience parental divorce before adulthood. Children had more negative outcomes the younger they were when the divorce occurred.  Researchers wrote, “We find that parental divorce reduces children's adult earnings and college residence while increasing incarceration, mortality, and teen births.” Speaking of husband and wife, in Matthew 19:6, Jesus said, “So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man separate.” Trump: We “will always defend right of every American to worship God freely” The White House released a presidential message on Pentecost Sunday this week. The message from President Donald Trump said, “Today, I join in prayer with Christians joyfully celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost—one of the most sacred events of the Christian faith. We commemorate the fulfillment of Jesus Christ's earthly mission and the birth of His holy and living Church. "As we celebrate this glorious feast day, we also honor all Christians who, like the Apostles, have willingly endured persecution because of their faith.  My Administration will always defend the right of every American to worship God freely and without fear.” On the day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter said,  “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38) Lesson from The American Miracle movie: “God governs in the affairs of men” If you have not yet seen The American Miracle, the new docudrama about God's providential hand in America's founding, then get tickets to see it tonight.  And bring a bunch of your friends with you. It's the last day it will be in the theaters. Actress Lauren Lael portrayed the daughter of a slave named Elizabeth “Mumbet” Freeman who was portrayed by Christian singer Nicole C. Mullen. Remarkably, the slave won her freedom in a Massachusetts court on August 22, 1781.  This is what Lauren Lael said. LAEL: “I think that one of the biggest Biblical themes that The American Miracle embodies is, I think, a spirit of integrity and a message of hope and a message also of connectedness, that really exalts God. This is such a pivotal time that this type of message needs to come out.” People who have seen the film have been reminded afresh of God's intervention in American history. TESTIMONIAL 1: “Something that I've learned in the film tonight is that we cannot underestimate how great our God is and how powerful He is, and how much He does govern the affairs of men." TESTIMONIAL 2: "It really reminded me how great our country is, because the Lord ordained America to be great.” TESTIMONIAL 3:  “I enjoyed it immensely. And I thought, if there's ever been any doubt about the faith and the beliefs of our founders, then this movie clears all that up and lets you know that, yes, they believed that God governs in the affairs of men.” Watch the trailer. Go to the website www.AmericanMiracleMovie.com, watch the trailer, click on the Tickets tab, type in your zipcode, and purchase tickets for tonight. It's the last night of a 3-night national run. 18 Worldview listeners gave $9,129 to fund our annual budget And finally, toward our midpoint goal of $61,750 to fund half of The Worldview newscast's annual budget by this Friday, June 13th, 18 listeners stepped up to the plate.  We missed our 20-donor daily goal by two donors. Our thanks to Anna in Great Falls, Montana who gave $4, Trudy in Los Olivos, California and Gwyndol in Albany, Oregon – both of whom gave $25, as well as Cathy in Fate, Texas who gave $35. We appreciate Janet in Canton, Illinois, Ed in Ramara, Ontario Canada, Emily in DeForest, Wisconsin, Sheila in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and Jess in  Forestville, California – each of whom gave $50. We're grateful to God for Titus in Omaha, Nebraska who gave $80, Kerry in Parowan, Utah who gave $100, Melissa in Great Falls, Montana who gave $110, and Calvin in Odessa, Minnesota  who gave $300. And we were touched by the generosity of Elizabeth in Carol Stream, Illinois  who gave $1,000, Keith and Lisa in Lansing, Michigan who gave $1,000, an anonymous donor in Texas who gave $1,000, Rick and Shannan in Lynchburg, Virginia who pledged $100 per month for 12 months for a gift of $1,200, and Scooter in Naples, Florida who will match all four of those gifts with another $4,000. Those 18 Worldview listeners gave a total of $9,129.  Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please.  (Drum roll sound effect) $ 23,800.20 (People clapping sound effect) That means we still need to raise $37,949.80  by this Friday, June 13th to hit the half-way mark, to stay on the air, and fund our 6-member Worldview newscast team for another fiscal year. In an audience of this size, I know that there is someone who could fund half of that amount with a one-time gift of $18,974.90. A couple of you could give a one-time gift of $5,000.  If you were one of 8 more people who could give a one-time gift of $1,000, Scooter in Naples, Florida will match you with a corresponding $1,000 gift. Could 10 of you pledge $100 per month for 12 months? And another 20 of you pledge $50/month for 12 months?  We could knock this annual budget out of the park overnight if everyone did something. In this episode 102 of the Eyes on Jesus Podcast, Tim Ferrara is joined by Barry Meguiar, a man known not only for building a global brand with Meguiar's Car Wax but also for building a movement to ignite everyday believers into full-time ministry—right where they are. Barry shares his journey from the business world into full-blown marketplace ministry and how God radically reshaped his view of purpose, evangelism, and success.Too often, Christians separate their "church life" from their "real life" — but Barry challenges this mindset. Ministry isn't confined to the pulpit; it happens in coffee shops, grocery lines, board meetings, and dinner tables. Every interaction we have is a divine opportunity to love others and point them to Jesus. This episode is packed with practical wisdom on overcoming fear, engaging in natural spiritual conversations, and seeing your daily environment as your mission field. Tim and Barry also explore how sharing your faith is not only your calling but one of the greatest joys in life. They unpack how evangelism, when rooted in love and led by the Holy Spirit, is exciting, refreshing, and deeply fulfilling.Barry's passion is contagious as he encourages every listener to stop waiting for a title and start living the mission. You don't need to be a pastor to be in full-time ministry—you just need to say yes to God in your everyday life.Whether you feel stuck in your faith or are simply unsure how to share it, this conversation will inspire you to start where you are and trust God to use you in powerful ways.

Last month, Trinity Classical Academy sent forth its first class of graduating seniors. To mark this milestone, we're republishing an interview that first aired in 2020 on Owen Strachan's now-defunct podcast. At that time, Dr. Strachan was on the faculty at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he invited Bob Thune to MBTS's Spurgeon Library to talk about the founding of Trinity Classical Academy. The founding and building of institutions is critical for gospel renewal, for societal health, and for the preservation and propagation of Christian faith. The story of TCA's success—from a fledgling startup school to a thriving educational institution—should inspire Christians to be dreamers and builders and doers.(0:00) Introductions: Bob Introduces Owen Introducing Bob(4:33) The Origin Story of Trinity Classical Academy(20:30) The Aim of Education: Formation(27:13) How Can You be a Catalyst in Your Context?

Kara Seymour was deeply entrenched in the New Age movement, she was a Kundalini yogi, and was thoroughly convinced that Christians were judgmental, boring, and brainwashed. So she was as surprised as anyone when she met a group of Christian women who became her new best friends. I can't wait for you to hear her amazing story of transformation, the judgment she felt outside and inside the Church, and how her relationship with Jesus has changed her life. We're kicking off our Judgy Girl series, where we're looking at stories of judgment and mercy from the Bible and how to live like it's true that our God is a merciful Judge. I'm weaving in some thoughts about several Bible stories of mercy into my conversation with Kara. Guest: Kara SeymourGet your Free Resource: 20 Page WorkbookResound Media Network: www.ResoundMedia.ccMusic: Cade PopkinKara SeymourKara Seymour is a woman whose life was radically transformed by the power of the gospel. After spending over 20 years deeply immersed in New Age spirituality—both personally and professionally—she encountered Jesus in January 2024 in a way that completely upended her worldview. Within weeks, she surrendered her life to Him, walked away from deception, and stepped into the freedom only Christ can offer. Today, Kara leads Pasta + Prayers, an online community of over 200 women around the world, where she helps others discover the truth of God's Word through faith, fellowship, and homemade pasta.Connect with Kara:InstagramFacebook Visit www.shannonpopkin.com/promises/ to learn more about my six-week Bible study with Our Daily Bread, titled, "Shaped by God's Promises: Lessons from Sarah on Fear and Faith." Tent Talk with Nancy McCready

Nancy opens up a fresh view from the Book of Acts, reading from the Passion Translation and reflecting on its powerful greeting: “to the lovers of God.” This phrase isn't just poetic—it's a revelation. We are not lovers of God by striving, but by being born again through His Spirit. It's a sobering reminder that spiritual transformation is His work in us, not our own doing. She highlights the contrast and continuity in Acts—from the fast fire of Pentecost to the slow fire of Paul teaching from his home. The book begins with Jesus' instructions and ends with Paul's steady discipleship. This reveals a rhythm in God's movement: the spectacular and the steady both have a place in the maturing of His people. Nancy calls us to consider whether we are spectators of God's movement or surrendered participants in His ongoing acts. This is a call to live as living witnesses—glad-hearted, trustworthy sons—formed in the everyday, prepared for the hour we're living in, and united as His apostolic company on the earth today.
