After recording the first 2 podcasts of cover songs I got really into it and kept thinking of others that I left out so I decided to record a third compilation of some of my favorite cover versions of songs originally recorded by someone else (see artists listed in parenthesis). I thought it would be fun to do a classic disco compilation for New Year's Eve, or whenever you get the inclination to take a listen. All of these extended versions were remixed by DJ Disco Cat who, in my opinion, does some of the best remixes of classic disco I have heard. If you like, check out his youtube channel. These are really long versions in the tradition of what I believe was the first extended remix ever created being Donna Summer's "Love To Love You Baby" back in the mid 70's which was extended to nearly 20 minutes long. Back in the day, when a song was really good people didn't want it to be over in 3 minutes if they were enjoying it on the dancefloor. Due to the length of some of these tracks I could only fit 7 songs on this mix. NOT a dance mix, this is a relaxing mix of some of (in my opinion) the greatest cover versions of songs that have ever been recorded. Many of these (in my opinion) surpass the original versions that were recorded by the artist in parenthesis below. Some of them were included here more for their originality even though I still prefer the original recordings. I realize some of these songs were recorded by many artists and I simply picked my favorite version...hence the title of the podcast. It was fun putting this together and there are many songs that didn't fit so maybe in the future I will do another if there is enough interest. After about 4 months, I have finally recorded a new mix, another in my series of "personal favorites". My first new mix in quite a long while. I finally am pretty settled into my new home in the Smoky Mountains and it has given me new inspiration! UNFORGETTABLE SUMMER by DJ MARK BISSON OK, I lied. The last time I posted I was planning on not renewing my Podomatic account. But, they offered a great renewal deal that I couldn't pass up. Since then, I have sold my Palm Springs, CA home and moved to the Smoky Mountains of TN. Still getting settled here, but, yesterday I did get my studio set up. Sometime in the next few weeks I plan on starting to create some new mixes. In the meantime, I have one more "found" mix from 2006 that I've never posted. It is part 2 (part 1 "That Iberian Feeling" is on here as well) of my mixes of music from Spain that I absolutely love...a perfect blend of tribal, melody and vocals. It's interesting that way back then I titled it "Unforgettable Summer", how appropriate it seems now? This has truly been the strangest summer, and year, that I can recall in this lifetime. THAT (IBERICA) FEELING by DJ MARK BISSON Just found this mix that I recorded in 2006. Back then I was really into much of the tribal music coming out of Spain. I love the way they incorporated the tribal drums with the melodies and lots of percussion. This is one of 2 mixes that I recorded with primarily that style of music. Unfortunately, I could not find the track listing for this mix. So, TEAR YOURSELF AWAY FROM THE TV and get caught up in the primordial beats of this music and I would be willing to bet it will take you somewhere...enjoy!

Now that, here in California, we are in a mandatory 2 week quarantine there is lots of time for things like listening to music, TV, reading, spending time outside in nature, sleeping, and just doing things that our busy lives take us away from sometimes. In the past few years, and especially this past year, I've been practicing meditation. It has been very interesting, to say the least, and something that definitely takes a lot of practice. I must say, especially during these last few weeks, it has helped me tremendously.
