In this episode of the Faith Beyond Limits podcast with Dr. Phil, the focus is on personal development and growth. Dr. Phil is joined by Dr. Kelvin McRae, CEO and founder of Laser Focused Leadership Solutions, who shares his insights on the topic. They discuss the importance of authenticity, having a mentor, and having a plan for personal development. Dr. McRae also talks about the roadblocks and barriers that can prevent people from accessing personal development, such as an unwillingness to invest in resources, denial, and not having the right community. The conversation then turns to cognitive reframing and how it is vital to personal development. Dr. McRae emphasizes that personal development is not just about reading a book or taking a course, but about managing you're thinking and framing things in a way that propels you forward. The episode concludes with Dr. Phil and Dr. McRae discussing practical steps for moving from ideation to realization. Notes: Great Bullet points: Direction first, speed later. Get there sooner with your authentic self. Find the right person, the mentor, the right resource that will help sharpen you. Have a strategic plan to follow. People are either grim Reapers or midwives. Clarity is the birth place of productivity. “An idea without a strategy is perpetual bondage. You are enslaved to the idea.” (Dr. Kelvin McCree) SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 13:20 NIV Proverbs 27:17 NIV Genesis 2:18 NIV Links: https://www.mandmmultimedia.com/ Dr. Kelvin McRae: https://mylaserfocus.com/ https://www.drphilministries.org/product/navigating-defining-moments/ https://officialproplayers.org/
On this episode of Faith Beyond Limits, we discuss a topic considered taboo in church today: mental health. Our guest is Sheena Torres-Nunez, a licensed practitioner under the Florida State Health Department. We will discuss the ACE Score and the importance of addressing mental health. We need to learn to say, "What happened to you?" instead of "What's wrong with you?" We will learn about The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Score, a tool used to measure the total amount of stress experienced during childhood, which can have a significant impact on mental health outcomes later in life. Torres-Nunez emphasizes the importance of understanding and addressing these experiences rather than simply treating the symptoms of mental illness. Additionally, the episode mentions the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) organization, which is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by mental illness and advocating for improved mental health care. By raising awareness and reducing stigma surrounding mental illness, organizations like NAMI and conversations like those on the Dr. Phil podcast can help promote a more compassionate and effective approach to addressing mental health.
