Making The Right Play

One of our biggest supporters is up next! We are extremely happy to introduce Kartheek as our next guest. Kartheek and I met at Geotab when I was interning there after my first year of college. We have been in touch ever since and we were able to share a lot of memories including playing on the same basketball team for the company. From a career standpoint, Kartheek has consistently found ways to solve problems he genuinely cares about. As you can see through his experience Kartheek transitioned from being a Software Engineer at NVIDIA to a Product Manager in his recent roles. People have different ways to get their first break as a Product Manager and our episode will cover Kartheek's. We also cover a few fun stories between us at Geotab, his experiences at the University of Waterloo and go over the spaces we see ourselves working in down the line.

Get to know another superstar! I met Chloe when we were Google Developer Student Club leads, her at UOT and me at McGill. Over the course of our collaboration, one thing that struck me about her was her incredible drive. She landed the explore internship at Microsoft, became the first lead for a Codeacademy chapter in Canada and was a speaker at Google I/O are no easy feats. Both Ishira and I were excited to hear about her journey thus far has been and we were stoked to hear what she plans on doing as the years go on. We hope this episode inspires you too!

You've met the younger brother, now for the older one. Please welcome Canishka De Silva! Canishka is one of our favourite guests of the season! An alumnus of The University of California, Berkeley (what a dump), Canishka is currently a data engineer working at FMeta (previously Facebook). During our sitdown with him, we got the chance to go over what being a data engineer meant, from every possible angle, be it what the role is, what you need to know to land it, how it defers from data science, and why Canishka decided it was for him. Maleeka is wrapping up her first year at YaleNUS College in Singapore. She has had a consistent passion for Economics and Politics which she has demonstrated with her internships, projects, and involvement in school. We had a conversation with her about her experiences as a first-generation student in a liberal arts university, the crazy achievements she had in her gap year (she was a radio personality too!) and the problems that she is interested in solving through her work. We have always admired Maleeka's perseverance and we were extremely proud to have her on our podcast!

There is no debate that she is a real-life superhero.

Navidu is currently a Tech Strategy Consultant at Deloitte UK and attended Imperial College London for most of his undergraduate and graduate studies. Moneli is in her final year reading Economics and Business at UCL (University College London). Navidu and Moneli truly immersed themselves in their student experiences in the United Kingdom and they have a lot of advice about how to succeed through life in college/university and how to frame your thought process for success outside college.
