Take a look behind the scenes at all the Mediajuice projects.
Capcom has always been one of our favorite clients. They value good creative, they are fair and understand what it takes to craft the right message. The past few months we have been working closely with Capcom on a number of projects. In June Capcom released a trailer the Mediajuice team crafted together for the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter. We collaborated with the Capcom creative team on the look they wanted for the motion graphics and the overall messaging. In the end the nostalgic Street Fighter music combined with the original motion graphics, custom edit and sound design by Mediajuice all came together to make a high impact trailer. Take a look here:Next we started production on Capcom's video needs for the E3 Convention in June. Capcom had a list of titles they were promoting at the show and needed a high impact Show Reel to showcase them in a concise and energetic manner. Capcom asked for a series of animated step and repeat graphics that would act as seamless transitions from title to title during the sizzle. The Mediajuice team put together a custom animated motion graphic for each title (Resident Evil 6, Street Fighter x Tekken, Lost Planet 3 & Devil May Cry) which was used in multiple ways. The final show reel turned out great and Capcom was pleased. Take a look at the final product here below:That's it for now! Thanks for reading and watching and be sure to stay tuned for more updates from me and the Mediajuice team.-Jeremy P.S. - Curious about what our last 2011 Capcom project was? It was a shoot & edit for Street Fighter x Tekken at NY Comic Con. Check it out below.
When Mediajuice was tasked with creating high impact trailers for the film Battle: Los Angeles' official video game adaption we were all very excited. We put our creative skills to the test by creating original music, motion graphics and crafting a visceral edit. The Mediajuice crew also performed all the necessary gameplay capture for the trailers. Give them a look!
I'm very excited to tell you about the last two projects we just completed! The Biggest Loser is by far one of the most popular, most watched shows on TV right now so we were thrilled to be able to work on the trailers for the Wii & Xbox 360 with Kinect games based on The Biggest Loser. For The Biggest Loser: Challenge on Wii, we decided to emulate the tone of the music from the show as well as start with clips from the actual show to get people into the "Biggest Loser" frame of mind. From there it was all about editing choices and motion graphics, both which came together nicely. For The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout on Xbox 360 with Kinect the challenge was to communicate the key features of the game as well as the innovative new technology the Kinect brings to gaming AND working out! We collaborated closely with our client THQ and decided that a live action shoot showing someone actually interacting with the game and Kinect was the best way to accomplish this and in the end, the final project really sizzles! Check out both trailers and let us know what you think!
What a thrill to work on the original X-Men arcade game! Konami announced they would be re-releasing the title for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network and came to Mediajuice to create a high impact trailer. We started by remixing the music and signature phrase "Save The City" from the game, which hopefully true fans of the original game will notice. From there we did a batch of game-play capture, created custom motion graphics and edited everything together. In the end, the trailer came out great and our client was very pleased. Check out the official trailer for the re-release of X-Men arcade and let us know what you think!
When THQ came to us with the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy video games we were thrilled! 2 of America's favorite game shows!! THQ knew they needed straight forward yet compelling trailers that would communicate the key features of each game so with that direction, The Mediajuice team went to work! We crafted a script that would call out the game's core selling points, cast the VO and cut together music to fit with both trailers. In addition, The Mediajuice team created custom motion graphics and performed all necessary game capture for both trailers. In the end, both trailers came together nicely and our client was very pleased. Give them both a look and let us know what you think!
Venturing into the world of movie trailers has been nothing but a whole lot of fun. Mediajuice partnered with Well Go USA late last year to begin creating trailers for some of their biggest upcoming movies and "IP Man" was at the top of that list. Our client wanted a trailer that would capture not only the great story of IP Man but the epic fight scenes and amazing cinematography the movie offers. The Mediajuice team cut together an original music track, custom text effects and applied a seasoned editing hand to the various scenes in the trailer. The trailer turned out terrific and the client was thrilled, which is a win win in our book! Check out the Official US premiere trailer for Well Go USA's IP Man.
Creating the Official US Film Trailer for 9th Company has been a real honor and pleasure. It is an amazing movie. Our goal was to communicate visually and audibly the powerful story as well as the visceral action captured in the battle sequences. After transferring the master film to a usable digital intermediate, we began creating the HD text graphics and original music track. We also enlisted a talented VO talent in Chris Sabat. All these elements came together nicely to form the Official US Film Trailer for 9th Company. Take a look at the trailer and let us know what you think!
When CDV approached The Mediajuice Team to handle the Divinity II: Ego Draconis campaign, we were very excited. Divinity II is a very unique game with tons of great features and a very intriguing story, so coming up with concepts and creative for it was a real pleasure. The Mediajuice team handled turnkey creative and production for 3 Retail Exclusive Trailers, a full TV campaign, The Official Launch Trailer, Print campaign and all the online ads for Divinity II. In addition we produced a 9 part exclusive vignette series which has been well received online. In the end the client was very pleased and Mediajuice did what we do best! Check out a behind the scenes look at all we produced for Divinity II by watching the video.
Video on the web is growing at an exponential rate and having exclusive and compelling video content is more important than ever before. With that said we thought we would highlight some of our favorite Mediajuice produced Web Videos from the past couple of years. Some are 100% Digital, some are all Live Action while others are a mixture. Take a look at some of our very best here in the Web Video showcase!
As 4th quarter is upon us, the Mediajuice team is ramping up for Fall TV marketing. In that spirit we thought we would showcase some of our past favorites. From 1950's leave it to beaver live action to 100% motion graphics, we've done just about every style. Take a look behind the scenes as we talk about what went into some of our best TV spots over the past couple of years.
One thing I have learned over the years is that a compelling message has to contain equal parts of creative uniqueness and production excellence. This is the measuring stick I use for anything we produce here at Mediajuice. Is the idea uniquely creative? Is the message fresh? Can we execute it with high production value? If the answer is YES, I know we are onto something. We use this same methodology for TV spots, web videos and yes even the corporate videos. The reason is simple; whether the demographic is an 11 year old boy or a 45 year old executive, they both have one thing in common; they both want to "feel", they want to be "wowed". Who says corporate videos have to be boring? Here's a look at a few of our favorite corporate videos we have produced over the years.
Over the past several months, Mediajuice has been working on a series of vignettes for Capcom's much anticipated "Marvel vs. Capcom 2" release. The Mediajuice team utilized all our resident production skills to produce this 6 part series and collaborated with Udon for the amazing illustrations you see in each episode. A live action shoot, custom motion graphics and animation, gameplay capture, editing and original music were all a part of what brought this innovative series to life. You can watch a special behind-the-scenes podcast of the making-of this series here:
Wow! What a fun game to work on. For anyone who loves Marvel comics and Capcom games you are probably no stranger to Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It has had a cult following since its release in arcade in the 90's. Needless to say we were really pumped to work on the video campaign for Capcom's re-release of this epic title. The 1st trailer Capcom commissioned us to produce was a Teaser / Announcement trailer to let the world know that MVC2 is on its way back to gaming consoles everywhere. Because of the nostalgia attached to this title we worked closely with Capcom to license a music track from the 1989 Transformers animated movie entitled "The Touch" by Stan Bush. Originally this song played over Optimus Prime and Megatron's final epic battle in the movie, but we have used it a bit differently for our Teaser Trailer. Take a look and let us know what you think!
The history between Atari and Mediajuice goes back to 2002 when I met a man named Matt Collins at Atari while I was working at FUNimation (pre Mediajuice). Matt saw potential in Mediajuice when I first launched the studio, and although there is much to say for the time between then and now, rest is as they say...History! Mediajuice and Atari history that is! Take a look at a small sampling of the work Mediajuice has produced for Atari over the past 5 years, and be sure to watch / listen to the Historical Commentary too!ATARI HISTORICAL COMMENTARY VIDEO
The history between Capcom and Mediajuice goes back about 5 years ago when I met who is now one of my favorite people and most savvy marketers I've ever met, Emily Anadu. Emily was working at Atari at the time, who we were also producing video and online content for. Since Emily's time at Capcom we have produced many great trailers, TV ads and sizzle videos for Capcom's legendary stable of properties. I'd be remiss without mentioning another of Capcom's great marketers who we have and continue to work closely with, John Diamonon. John has commissioned and collaborated with the Mediajuice team on some of the best work we have ever created. Here in this commentary I give a brief behind the scenes look at several of our favorite Capcom projects and the collaboration and production sensibilities that went into each. We are still hard at work each quarter producing new content for Capcom, but this gives a historical look back at the past few years. Enjoy!
In the summer of 2007 I decided we needed a new Reel. Mediajuice was entering it's 3rd year and our portfolio of work had really grown significantly. The concept me and my fellow Mediajuicer's decided best portrayed who Mediajuice is and what we are about was (and is) -- Mediajuice, where ideas come to life! To that end, we created an animated intro with a cute little light bulb as our mascot. When he's dropped onto the Mediajuice conveyer belt of production, he comes alive with the ideas of Mediajuice. From there he is off to be produced as a website, a TV ad, an Official Trailer or a host of other products. We shot my live-action scenes in our green screen studio and added the Mediajuice production room and conveyer belt in post. If your curious about Mr. Idea Bulb's journey from concept to creation, give the 08 Reel a look and learn about Mr. Idea Bulb and Mediajuice! Remember, all of the videos on our Podcast & Blog are a bit lower resolution than normal due to the requirements of Itunes file size and what the Blog can stream.MEDIAJUICE 2008 REEL
This week I'm providing a short behind the scenes commentary for the production of the Super Street Fighter II HD Remix Turbo series of trailers we recently produced. This series of 3 trailers were some of the best trailers, in my opinion, that Mediajuice has ever produced. Xbox 360's joystiq website called them the best trailers ever created!! I was very surprised and pleased to hear that and to see how enthusiactically all 3 trailers were recieved by the press and consumers at large. Give the commentary a listen if you have about 3 minutes to spare. Thanks for tuning in!--Jeremy

This project holds a very special place in my nostalgic heart. Why, you ask? Easy ... it contains some of the most memorable video game characters from my adolescence. Countless nights and weekends were spent trying to perfect my Street Fighting moves, all while continually yelling over my shoulder to a frustrated mom, 'This is the last match, I promise!' Fast forward 15+ years and I now have the privilege of working on the marketing for the re-launch of this epic gaming franchise. When Capcom's product manager and I started talking about ideas for a unique way to show off the upcoming Street Fighter re-launch through video, we landed on a GREAT concept that hit at the heart of Street Fighter nostalgia ... or 'Streetstalgia' as I call it. We decided to license the rights to a song entitled 'You're The Best' off of the Karate Kid movie soundtrack. The song's title and lyrics lead us to the idea of creating a virtual 'Street Fighter Tournament' through video. We broke down the fighters, created a bracket of winners and losers, and teased a final 'payoff' match at the end of each trailer. Who will be the best? That's the question we asked and answered in these trailers. The 3 trailers have received loads of praise online. Xbox 360's Joystiq even gave the trailers the distinction of '...best trailer ever created...' But don't take my word for it ... here's Joystiq's full quote:'...We're so sorry, other game trailers, but your day has come. "Starry Night?" Bested. "Mad World?" Beaten. What game managed to beat some of the best game trailers ever created? You're going to be surprised, but it's Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. We absolutely will not spoil it for you, so your just going to have to watch. We suggest that you do so right now. And remember, sweep the leg...'Read the full article here @ http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/street-fighter-ii-hd-best-trailer-ever/You can find all 3 trailers online, but for convenience I'm posting the 1st one here on the blog if you want to check it out: ROUND 1 TRAILER By all accounts the trailers turned out terrific. This is one example where a good online trailer can move the needle of sales more than traditional ad media like TV or print. GO STREET FIGHTER!!--Jeremy
What a great shoot! The Mediajuice Films team and I shot the latest Backyard Football 2009 TV ad on a sound stage and it turned out great. We built the entire set from scratch, shot the spot on the Sony Vericam and worked directly with all the talent. The "butter" prosthetic we created for the ad was alot of fun as well. The concept of joining the "old" with the "new", i.e. a vintage 'Leave it to Beaver' family with new a new 'videogame world' through a peice of butter, seemed to be just quirky and unique enough to resonate with the target audience. To view the extended version of the final spot click on the below video.BACKYARD FOOTBALL 2009 - TV adAll in all, a very fun project to work on ... and I was really pleased with the final spot. Drop me a line and let me know what you thought of it. :-)--Jeremy
