Shelby Oaks is a new horror film written and directed by first time feature filmmaker Chris Stuckmann. It tells the story of a woman determined to find her sister who goes missing while investigating a mysterious abandoned town. It stars Camille Sullivan, Sarah Durn, Brendan Sexton III, and Keith David. It was executive produced by Mike Flanagan, who's known for directing Stephen King adaptations and other horror films. Before making the film, writer/director Chris Stuckmann was best known as a YouTube film critic. He utilized his platform and fanbase to crowdfund the production of Shelby Oaks. It combines elements of early YouTube, found footage, true crime documentaries, and narrative filmmaking to tell its story. The film was produced by our guest, Ashleigh Snead. She has been making independent films for over a decade and is the director of production for Paper Street Pictures, a production company based out of Austin, Texas. She lives here in Anchorage and was kind enough to stop by our studio to speak with ATMI producer Cat Whited about working on Shelby Oaks. In their conversation, Ashleigh talks about the movie's journey from a simple pitch to getting theatrical distribution, her love of independent horror films, and other projects she has in the works. They spoke on November 12, 2025. Host: Deacon Laurance Theme music is by Kendrick Whiteman with additional music from Devin Shreckengost. The Springs in the Desert Podcast: Catholic Accompaniment Through Infertility
How can we find fulfillment when we can't conceive? Today we're welcoming Leigh Snead, Fellow of the Catholic Association and co-host of Conversations with Consequences, back to the pod to preview her upcoming book, Infertile but Fruitful: Finding Fulfillment When You Can't Conceive (Sophia Institute Press, 2026).We'll talk with Leigh about:– why it was important to include different infertility perspectives in her book.– the continually changing infertility conversation.– her advice for Catholic brides who are really struggling with the experience of infertility.Links:Infertile but Fruitful (Sophia Institute Press)
On this week's episode of The 1 Girl Revolution Podcast, we welcome Leigh Fitzpatrick Snead - writer, mother, advocate, and author of the upcoming book Infertile but Fruitful. Leigh is a dear friend and a woman whose grace, honesty, and deep, abiding love shine through every part of her story. Leigh has walked the long, winding road of infertility - a journey that can be isolating, overwhelming, and deeply painful. Although she never conceived children biologically, Leigh and her husband, Carter, became parents in another beautiful way: through the adoption of their four incredible boys. Their family is a powerful testament to embracing the path that life brings before you - with purpose, openness, and joy. They remind all of us that life's greatest gifts often arrive in forms we never expected. What makes Leigh's voice so extraordinary is the way she invites us to look at our own stories in a new way - especially the pieces that feel unfinished or heavy. For anyone who is hoping, praying, and trying for children… Leigh's story is a reminder not to overlook the quiet lessons and unexpected graces hidden along the way. Infertility can feel like waiting in the dark, but it does not mean your story is stalled or empty. There is beauty unfolding in every chapter of your life. There is purpose in the waiting. And Leigh is one of the most tender, wise, and hope-filled examples of that truth. In this episode, you'll hear: ✨ Leigh's personal journey with infertility and adoption; ✨ How she and Carter grew their family through the adoption of their four sons; ✨ The lessons found in waiting, longing, and surrender; ✨ The challenges and beauty of walking a path you never expected; ✨ Leigh's wisdom for women navigating infertility or uncertainty in their own stories; ✨ And so much more.
On this episode of Next on the Tee, I'm joined by three outstanding guests who bring game-changing perspective from three very different corners of golf. First, top New York instructor and a wonderful human being, Brian Jacobs returns to talk about his move from an elite Florida club back to Rochester, the lessons he learned, and the key questions every PGA Professional — or anyone considering a new job — should ask before saying yes. I also talk with him about the positive impact he's made on players' lives, and he shares the details about his upcoming trip to Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill, which anyone is free to join in on. Next, Connor Lewis, Founder of the Society of Golf Historians and the new Antiquity Golf Company, makes an electric debut. Connor dives into the treasures of golf history, dives deep into the GOAT debate (Snead, Hogan, Jack, Tiger, Trevino, Bobby Locke), why he'd pick Lee Trevino to face anyone 1 on 1, and how the PGA Tour has copied almost everything from LIV short of the shotgun starts. Then be sure to come back for Part 2, because The Confidence Doctor Dr. Bob Winters returns with updates on his students' successes, the meaning of “social loafing” in golf, his thoughts on the Tour's direction, and a key reminder for competitive players: When doubt creeps in, believe you belong out there. Thank you as always for pressing play and being part of this week's show.
Chuck Heinz and Chris Snead talk about if the Dallas Cowboys are a playoffs team, K-State head coach Chris Klieman retiring, where Texas Tech Football will land with a win or a loss to BYU, where the Tech coaching job stacks up in the country, and they give their thoughts on what Tech did on National Signing Day. Snead asks who in the playoff field concerns you the most for the Question of the Day.
In this episode of What We Can't Not Talk About, host Dr. Marianna Orlandi welcomes Leigh Fitzpatrick Snead— The Catholic Institute Fellow and author of Infertile but Fruitful—for a deep and honest conversation about the cross of infertility in marriage. Snead speaks openly about the burdens infertile couples face: the grief, the search for answers, the strain on hope, and the temptation toward despair. She shares how faith anchors couples in this trial, how to confront regret and remedies, and how God can bring real fruitfulness even when the story does not end in pregnancy. Rooted in her own lived experience, Snead offers compassionate, practical, and theologically grounded advice for couples walking this painful path—reminding us that the Incarnation reveals the meaning of every human longing and every unfulfilled desire.
Chuck Heinz and Chris Snead talk about tomorrow's game between Texas Tech and BYU, what concerns they have for tomorrow, what their thoughts are on Tech's recent struggles offensively, how to shut down Bear Bachmeier, and what stats to look out for. Snead asks the guys is the Texas Tech football job right now the best in the country for the Question of the Day.
The difference between panic and power comes down to a few simple rules. In today's episode, Ryan dives into Les Snead's philosophy on “panic rules” and why it's stuck with him ever since they first talked. Ryan and Les discuss how these rules help leaders stay calm under pressure, make hard decisions, and mentor the next generation. Then, they wrap up the conversation at The Painted Porch, where Ryan shares some book recommendations with Les and his wife Kara.Les Snead is an American football executive who is the general manager of the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. Snead played tight end for Auburn from 1992-93 and was part of the Tigers' perfect 11-0 team in 1993. He also earned Southeast Region Academic All-American honors during his college career. Prior to joining the Rams, Snead spent 13 seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
As a leader, what do you do when your team is falling apart? Or when success comes faster than you expected? In this episode, Ryan sits down with Los Angeles Rams General Manager Les Snead, the man who helped build a Super Bowl–winning team. They talk about what Les calls his “panic rules,” the principles he leans on when things get chaotic, and how he and coach Sean McVay have learned to play to win instead of not to lose. At one point, Romeo invited Snead and Randall to perform with him and his band, Elijah Petty and The Part-Times.Preparing for the show, Snead and Randall discussed asking their friend Livingston Brown to jump in and perform with them. They later realized that his involvement in the show was already guaranteed—Brown was also a member of Elijah Petty and The Part-Times.Through this connection, Snead, Randall, Romeo, and Brown formed a band. Throughout the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, some of golf's most legendary names strolled and dominated the fairways. Superstars like Gene Sarazen, Walter Hagen, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, and Sam Snead. These were the stars golf fans came out to see play. They were the golfers who grabbed the headlines. But there were others, less known stars, who also won their share of tournaments. Stars like Henry Picard, Horton Smith, and Tommy Armour. And then there was Paul Runyan. Certainly not an imposing figure standing at 5-foot-7, 130 pounds. But he was also one of the game's most dominant figures, especially during the 1930s. Known as Little Poison for his "deadly" short game, Runyan is one of only six golfers to ever win nine tournaments in one year, and the first to ever win more than eight in one season. In 1933, Runyan won nine times. Overall, he posted 29 wins, 28 during the 1930s. His two biggest wins came in the PGA Championship. In 1934, Runyan, when the PGA was still a match-play event, Runyan captured his first Major by downing Craig Wood on the 38th hole of play, 1-up. But it was his 1938 win at the PGA Championship that stunned the world of golf when he crushed Snead 8 and 7 in the most lopsided final round in the history of the PGA. On this episode of Sports' Forgotten Heroes, I take a look back at the wonderful, Hal of Fame career of one of golf's forgotten heroes, Paul Runyan.Mentioned in this episode:Sports History Network Theme SongThis theme song was produced by Ron "Tyke" Oliver of Music Meets Sportz https://sites.google.com/view/sportsfanztastic?usp=sharing

GS#386 May 28, 2013: From Touring to Teaching, John “Lag” Erickson has seen golf from all sides and is concerned that the art of ball striking is disappearing. He contends that today's highly advanced research to make clubs more forgiving is ruining the ability to become a great ball striker. Even the greatest players of today struggle when handed persimmon clubs, nor could they compete with the pre-metal club pros. It's not just touch, but the sound of hitting balls has changed for the worst. Are you more interested in scoring than ball striking? Jon thinks you may be missing the point. He also says that the USGA and R&A hate golf. For more, check out John's website at AdvancedBallStriking.com. Jon returns for Part 2 of our conversation in a Members Only episode to discuss his theories of instruction that teaches the swing from impact backwards. That should be a heated debate between Heelberto and Dan in Daygo. Plus, what does everyone make of the Derek Carr news and is it a guarantee the Saints draft a QB 9th overall? Lastly, Wrestlemania 41 is this weekend so The Compas make their picks.
