...let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22b
See that you also excel in this grace of giving. 2 Corinthians 8:7b
"If you are willing, you can make me clean." Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing." He said. "Be clean!" Mark 1:40b, 41
Ephesians 5:1-20 - We all sin. We are going to fall and fail in living the Better life in the real world. God calls us to live in the new life that he has given to us. Put the old life aside and having nothing to do with the things that harm us and others. But as Jesus accepted those with sicknesses and diseases. In fact he says that’s who he came for. We find forgiveness and healing in Jesus. (Mark 1:40-42 – healing of leper) It all starts once again by putting our life in his hands. Don’t let the thief kill and destroy. There is a better and full eternal life with Jesus.
Matthew 6:19-24, 33 God wants us all debt free with enough to tithe and give offerings above and beyond! That’s for 100% of our faith family! Well at least that’s our goal at Messiah! God is the owner of all and we are the stewards. Our finances should reflect the amazing selfless grace filled gift of eternal life given to us. Problem is we don’t entrust our finances fully to God. God’s desire is that we intentionally seek his way to manage his money. The floodgates of blessing will come pouring out. (Malachi 3:8-10). Test God! Do it his way and see what happens!

We thank God for the friends he has placed in our lives. Be a friend to those God has placed in your path
David began his rule as King by seeking first to honor God in the presence Of all the people and properly show who is on the throne! He did this by seeking to bring the ark of the Covenant (place of God’s presence) to Jerusalem. The ark was mishandled and God punished. God is serious about our making him the ruler of our hearts and lives. He desires the honor and praise and worship he is due! God’s desire is bless his children with his love. He does that when cares for us and protects us! He was even willing to leave his throne and die for us! Will we not give our hearts fully to this King today? Will we seek to give glory to God in all we do?
David, the man after God’s heart was tempted. He made poor choices and then tried to hide them! David sinned! When confronted, David recognized his guilt and confessed his sin. Unlike his predecessor Saul, David did not shift blame, or simply make a confession to get in the good graces again with God and others for his own gain. How about us? Have we admitted to those sins hidden in the closet of our heart? Are those sins that no one knows hindering you from doing the right things and really touching God’s heart? Time to get real with God and others! God promises to forgive us and give us a fresh start. Will we allow God to create in us a pure heart for Him?
Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD ? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22
Why? David fully relied on God. He trusted God, the Lord almighty to go with him and fight all the battles and giants that confronted him. Have we put the challenges(giants) that we face everyday in the hands of our deliverer and warrior Jesus Christ? Or, do we fearfully face the giant all by ourselves. It is only when we realize we can’t do it ourselves that we begin to touch God’s heart.
