Kenny and Kelly prayed for a miracle for their unborn baby girl (2002). Doctors had diagnosed the unborn baby with serious birth defects and advised that they terminate the pregnancy. While the parents prayed for a miracle, they also made preparations for her passing shortly after her delivery and chose a casket and burial place. Full of mixed emotions, they arrived at the hospital to deliver their baby and were thrilled to see that she was born and was thriving! A national Christian network was notified and broadcasted the story of the medical miracle, and God was praised. It wasn't long, unfortunately, before the couple realized that the doctors were right about many of the hardships they would have to face related to Ellie's complex medical issues. In this episode Kenny shares the deeply personal story of their journey with their daughter, how God moved through other people to bless their family, how God moved through their situation to bring good to a local facility, their family's adoption of Landry Kate, and gives valuable insight as to what the Bible says about trials and trusting in God's heart when you can't see his hand. Abortion is also discussed and we pray over those in a trial and for those who have had an abortion in the past. And not just starting, but years later still being faithful in that.In this episode, he's sharing with us his journey of saying yes to God and a few thoughts of encouragement when it comes to the challenge of giving up. As we near the end of our week on God's heart to meet with man, we look today at Pentecost. The day of Pentecost was a major fulfillment of God's desire to meet with us. On that day, his Holy Spirit flooded the earth and was poured out on ordinary people, just like you and me. We see God's desire to dwell with a people satisfied as his Spirit fills them and remains with them forever. May you be encouraged today as you look more deeply at God's overwhelming desire to be one with you in your day to day life. Oftentimes we look at Old Testament stories of man's encounters with God and grow jealous. We question why God doesn't show up in the way he did with Moses for us now. Throughout Scripture we see countless examples of God meeting with man and countless lives being transformed as the result. These examples are in Scripture to stir our faith and fill us with a desire to meet with our Creator. When we read about the life of David, we should be filled with a longing to live as he did, centered around meeting with our heavenly Father. When we read about Gideon or Moses, we should long to know our God as they did. When we read about Jesus coming down to us or his heart for the woman caught in adultery, we should respond by pursuing encounters with our Savior. And when we read of Pentecost and Jesus' second coming, we should seek out the fullness of God's presence available to us on this earth in preparation for the age that is to come. May your heart be filled with a wholehearted desire to pursue meeting with God this week. Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 84:1–2, and today's worship is No Other God by Steph Macleod. Welcome back to another episode of the Let Your Shine Bright Podcast, on today's episode we will be talking about God's heart. Have you ever wondered what's on the heart of God? Well, this episode is the perfect one for you to listen to. From Genesis to Revelation, we see the heart of a loving Father but a lot of people don't believe that's true. If we disassociate God the Father from Jesus Christ the son, we miss out on the heart of God. Today's episode is going to talk about five common things that are the will of God for humanity. A lot of who God is to us is a mystery but there are some things about him that can be found in his word.

As we walk into week 3 of 1 John, we're reminded as followers of Jesus that we don't work FOR our identity but FROM our identity. What does it mean to be a person after God's own heart? And am I one? Can I be one? God's eyes are going to-and-fro looking for someone who's heart is after His, and He's going to show Himself strong on their behalf. Saul didn't make the cut, only because his heart wasn't after and pursuing God's heart. God FOUND David with a heart after Him amongst the sheep, playing the harp and worshiping God. Who's heart are you after? A Person after God's own heart will NOT be: 1) INSECURE - Approval of others does not determine our actions and behavior. 2) IMPATIENT - Amount of time passing will not determine the amount of their faithfulness. 3) INTIMIDATED - Level of opposition will not determine their level of courage.
