Today is about what women have in common. I read two articles that appeared to be about women on the left and women on the right, but in the end when you look at the articles closely. The issues on both sides are the same. We have far more in common than we have apart.Thank you for joining me today. Today is special. Today I will discuss our common ground through our first amendment of the Bill of Rights. Today is also special because I have the opportunity to feature an excerpt from Writer, Director, and Choreographer Tony Spinsoa's new musical, Singing Revolution.'Singing Revolution' is a contemporary musical with a Europop score. It’s the story of Taavi Tamm, the leader of a resistance movement, who falls in love with the daughter of his enemy. Inspired by the real history of the Estonian revolution against the Soviet Union, our hero leads his fellow countrymen to freedom through the power of song. 'Singing Revolution' parallels our current times and a reminder that the power of peaceful resistance can change the world. Here is a link for you to see the full video:https://youtu.be/QRtCw7POWOc Thank you for joining me today. Last week on August 18, 1920, was the day the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote was ratified. Meaning that it was officially valid, but it was not until August 26, 1920, when it was actually signed into law and officially put into practice. So today is called Equality day. What does that mean to you? Today I discuss what voting means to me.Thank you for joining me today. America recently celebrated its 244th birthday. In 1776, America fought a war to create a government, as outlined in the Declaration of Independence that will take care of its people’s safety and happiness. How do you think your representatives are living up to this mission today? We explore this in today's episode and the heartbreak many Asian Americans are facing today and we continue our conversation about African Americans.
Episode 5 goes even deeper into the Declaration of Independence and discovers how every movement is a continuation of that first revolution that began on July 4, 1776.
I did not know about June 19. I never heard about Juneteenth Day. Like many Americans, I knew about the Emancipation Proclamation that ended slavery in America. What I did not know was the deeper, more meaningful historical significance of the day. We explore this and the connection between this Independence Day and the July 4th Independence Day.
Hello and welcome to One Nation, One Mission, One Promise a place where we celebrate our unique and diverse citizenship. Every second Sunday in June the National Puerto Day Parade takes over 5th Avenue in New York City and celebrates Puerto Ricans Nationwide. The parade is sixty-two years old, but this year, as with many other events, COVID-19 hungover the streets of New York leaving only the echos of parades past to fill the streets of New York City. Well, that was not going to stop the celebrations, the parade transferred to a safe and virtual setting on ABC. There the spirit of the National Puerto Rican Day parade resided until it returns to 5th Avenue and the airwaves next year. The Puerto Rican Day parade is the largest demonstration of cultural pride in the nation. What began in New York City has since grown to events and festivals around the nation.
