There are times where we will have the opportunity to be the neighbor someone needs. Sometimes we justify our inactions by using scripture inaccurately, because our neighbors isn't just those who sit in the pews with you. We have been called and given the light, but what good is the light if its only lighting up the house you are in only for those in your house? We are to be the light set on a hill for those around us. Today we take a deeper dive into what it really means to be the good Samaritan. God is the the creator of all things, He was here before the earth was formed, He was there when there was nothing but darkness, and He is still here. Gods word is life sustaining, without God we have nothing and without God we are nothing! When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, we fell along with them, but God had a different planned in place. To navigate this world, we need to be ready at all times, because the evil one is always ready to devise his plans. Keep God and His words close to your heart! Today we dive into what it really mean to be a follower of Jesus Christ not just a fan. Some of us are really into sports, some of us are really into reality TV, and some of us are fan of Harry Potter. We need to remind ourselves that salvation is a gift from God. There isn't one particular thing you can do or a checklist you can mark off to receive salvation. God wants you to submit to Him and His Lordship, we can sometimes find ourselves being complacent in the sight of the Lord, but we need to humble ourselves and realize that we still need HIM! God is on control of all things and His desires are for all men to be saved. We must submit and carry out the will of the Lord! Have we forgotten where we can from? Meaning have we forgotten where our hope and salvation comes from? Jesus Christ is the source of this, sometimes we can be so righteous of ourselves that we forget this! The things we strive for and fought tooth and nails to get, once we achieve it. We forget how we got it and where we came from. Jesus Christ is where we find repentance from sins, not through us that is not our responsibility. The best of us can find ourselves thinking we have this ability to do so. We need to take a step back sometimes because we can think to highly of ourselves. We need to look inside our own heart and look into the hearts of those we come encounter with. Like Jesus does. We must rise up as Christians and fight back. In California, when they said we couldn't meet for the first couple of months, we complied because we did not know what in the world was going on. Now they are saying we could meet but cannot sing? That is an infringement of our 1st amendment right, we should sing even louder. There are times in the bible where Gods people overcame by singing. We live in a privilege country where we do not have to fear about being persecuted for our faith. Our service men and women walk out of there door daily knowing there is a chance they will not make it home. What does it mean to be battle ready? We picture a warrior putting on his armor, pick up his shield, and picking up his sword. A group of men and women getting their gear prepared, loading up their vehicles, and strategically planing their position. This is what it would look like being battle ready physically, so what does it looks like to be battle ready spiritually.
