It's Monday, August 31st, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Burmese military killed pastor and another believer The Burma Research Institute has confirmed that Rev. William, who used no last name, and another Chin Christian, Nam Ceu, were extrajudicially murdered on June 4th by the Burmese military dictatorship in Myanmar, reports International Christian Concern.  Rev. William had pastored the Chungcung Baptist Church in Chin State for more than 25 years. He was arrested with Ceu in May and had been detained by the military since then. Sources told the Burma Research Institute that Rev. William and Nam Ceu were killed for allegedly supporting the Hakha Chinland Defense Force, which is fighting against the Burmese military dictatorship. Psalm 116:15 says, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Zo Tum Hmung, President of the Burma Research Institute, said, “We call the Trump administration to protect the persecuted Christians in Burma.” Send a polite, 4-sentence note to Kyaw Moe Tun, the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations.  Address it to the Myanmar Delegation, 10 East 77th Street, New York, NY 10075. Democrat James Talarico: Muslims and Christians worship same God James Talarico, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senator in Texas who is running against Republican Ken Paxton, the current Texas Attorney General, falsely claimed that Muslims worship the same God as Jews and Christians. Listen. TALARICO: “Christians and Muslims and Jews all worship the same God. Muslims love Jesus. They love Moses and Abraham. We are all branches on the same tree as the Abrahamic faiths.  “So. it's heartbreaking to watch extremists, whether they are Christian nationalists or whether they're the Taliban or al-Qaeda, perverting these beautiful traditions, that have so much in common, to attack others and consolidate their own power.” There are three primary differences between Christianity and Islam. First, regarding the nature of God, Christians teach that God is the Trinity—one God existing in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) By contrast, Islam completely rejects the Trinity. Second, Christians believe that Jesus is the divine Son of God and God incarnate who physically died on the cross for the atonement of the sins of the elect and rose from the dead. (John 1:1,14) By contrast, while Islam reveres Jesus as a major, virgin-born prophet and messenger of God, it explicitly denies His divinity, crucifixion, and resurrection. And third, Christianity teaches that salvation is a free gift of grace received through personal faith in the finished sacrificial work of Jesus Christ, rather than by human effort. (Ephesians 2:8-9) By contrast, Islam teaches that salvation depends on total submission to Allah's will, adherence to the Five Pillars of Islam, and the final judgment of one's deeds. Therefore, Muslims and Christians clearly do not worship the same God. Georgia Democrat distanced himself from antisemitic leftist Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has offered sharp criticism of President Donald Trump which generated buzz about Ossoff potentially running for president in 2028.   That, in turn, has attracted some left-wing figures who have lauded his messaging like left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, who told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in April that he was “intrigued” by Ossoff. There are two developments of note.  First, Ossoff, whose father is Jewish, is facing criticism from some of Georgia's local Jewish community over his votes to block certain arms sales to Israel. Second, Senator Ossoff has distanced himself from Hasan Piker over recent comments that many interpreted as justifying threats to American Jews,  reports the Jewish Telegraph Agency.   Speaking on a Twitch livestream on August 20th, Piker said this. PIKER: “If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone's going to come around and take action. Not against the state of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews.” Last Thursday, according to Fox News, an Ossoff spokesman said that the senator “unreservedly rejects reckless and dangerous rhetoric suggesting that policy advocacy invites violence against the Jewish community or any community.” In Genesis 12:3, God said, “I will make [Israel] into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on Earth will be blessed through you.” Undercover video exposes GOP Sen. Murkowski on SAVE Act And finally, liberal Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska stood on the Senate floor and painted a grim picture of the supposed damage the SAVE America Act, or the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, would do in her home state.  This is the bill that would ensure that American citizens — and only American citizens — should decide American elections. It would simply require: A valid ID before registering to vote in a federal election. Proof of citizenship. No Mail-in Ballots (except for illness, disability, military, or travel). Listen to Senator Murkowski's claim. MURKOWSKI: “What we're talking about right now is just the registration to vote. So, you're in Unalaska -- say you're a fisherman or a teacher -- the flight to Anchorage, because this is where you're going to have to go -- you're going to have to go into Anchorage: 800 air miles, $1,100 per seat, if you can maybe get on a charter.” James O'Keefe, an undercover journalist with the O'Keefe Media Group and the Justice League, flew to Unalaska to find out firsthand if Senator Murkowski's claim was true. Listen to his analysis. O'KEEFE: “I'm James O'Keefe, and I'm in the middle of absolutely nowhere, about 800 miles off the coast of Alaska, on a remote island in the Aleutian Islands. “Now, Senator Lisa Murkowski says that one of the reasons she's not going to pass the SAVE Act is because of people that live here on this island of Unalaska.  “Senator Murkowski saying if the SAVE Act passes, online registration goes away, and the residents here, the few thousand people that live here, are going to have to fly 800 miles and spend thousands of dollars to go to Anchorage to take care of their business.  “But all the people we spoke with here, they all said that that's wrong, including the post office, the library, the city clerk, the DMV. We didn't know there was a DMV here. Everyone we spoke to here said they're able to register to vote here. They're able to prove citizenship by going to the library.  “So, Senator Murkowski says, ‘If you're a fisherman in Unalaska, the closest election office is 800 miles away; it would cost $1,500. You would also need a hotel, cabs, and food while in Anchorage. But the librarian just told us differently.” Here is the portion of the undercover investigation with a female undercover agent, who accompanied O'Keefe, to the library in Unalaska. UNDERCOVER FEMALE AGENT: “Just wanted to learn a little bit more about the process to get an ID. “ LIBRARIAN: “We do passports here.” UNDERCOVER AGENT: “Oh, you do passports here.” UNDERCOVER O'KEEFE: “Mmm.” UNDERCOVER FEMALE AGENT:  “That's good to know, though, that if somebody wants to confirm their citizenship, they can do it here.” UNDERCOVER O'KEEFE: “To get the Alaska ID, do you get it here or back in Anchorage?” LIBRARIAN: “Oh no, here. The DMV should be the near the police station.” UNDERCOVER O'KEEFE: “So, we don't have to go to Anchorage to get it.”  LIBRARIAN: “No, no, no. As long as you have all the paperwork you need.”  UNDERCOVER O'KEEFE: “But I read in the newspaper that the senator [Lisa Murkowski], said, ‘Oh, they're going to pass this SAVE Act, and everyone's got to go to Anchorage to get it.'” LIBRARIAN: “I don't think so.” UNDERCOVER O'KEEFE: “Oh no. Okay.” Proverbs 12:19 says, “Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.” Call liberal Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski's office in DC, 24 hours a day/7 days a week, and ask the live operator to connect you to her voicemail, urging her to support the SAVE America Act. Her number is (202) 224-6665. Tell her that you reject her false claim that people in the Aleutian Islands have to travel 800 miles by air to register to vote in Anchorage. Plus, call your two Senators at 202-224-3121 and ask them to vote for the SAVE America Act as well. Close And that's The Worldview on this Monday, August 31st, in the year of our Lord 2026. What Does It Really Mean to Bear False Witness?

Christian Questions Bible Podcast

Our Ten Commandments Series has now brought us to the Ninth Commandment, regarding not bearing false witness against our neighbor. To properly dig into the meaning of this command, we need to remember its context. After the first several Commandments taught us about our spiritual connection with God, the next several focused us on our human connections with one another. While this Ninth Commandment doesn’t seem as dramatic as don't murder, don't commit adultery and don't steal, it does raise our thinking and instruction to a new level. That level is not only about our thoughts and actions toward one another; it applies that behavior in a clear legal sense. So, what did this mean for Israel, and more importantly, what does it mean for us as disciples of Christ? What does it mean to bear false witness? This episode explores the Ninth Commandment's warning against false testimony and reveals how dishonesty, exaggeration and slander undermine justice and community trust. Through Old and New Testament examples—including Israel's legal standards, Jesus' trial and Stephen's martyrdom—we learn why truth‑centered speech is essential for disciples of Christ today. God values truth Israel's law required multiple witnesses, forbade mob influence and in some cases, punished malicious accusers with the same penalty they intended for the innocent. These safeguards protected justice and emphasized how seriously God views truthfulness. In the New Testament, Jesus identified false witness as a sin that springs from the heart. His own trial on the night before his crucifixion shows how lies and manipulation can be weaponized against righteousness. Stephen's death further exposes the tragic progression of threatened leaders who recruit false witnesses, stir up crowds and abandon integrity altogether. As we look inward, we are reminded that false witness can occur privately—through exaggeration, emotional reactions or even condemning ourselves after God has forgiven us. As disciples of Christ, we are called to speak only what builds integrity, honors God and protects the dignity of others. Key Takeaways What does it mean to bear false witness? False witness is intentional distortion meant to harm or mislead. Israel's law demanded strict witness standards to preserve justice. Jesus and Stephen reveal how lies escalate under fear, pride and mob pressure. Disciples must resist slander, exaggeration, rumor and emotionally driven accusations. Truthful, measured speech reflects Christ and strengthens community trust.

Presented by Lauren Stibgen We are looking at seven things that are an abomination to God, and now we will focus on our mouth. More specifically: a lying tongue, a false witness that breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Three of the seven things on the list God hates have to do with how we choose to use our mouth. And all three of these things that God hates us to do with our mouth can show up at work. Clearly if we use our words to lie, we lack integrity. What about a lying tongue? Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is for a moment (Proverbs 12:19). God wants you to be honest in all ways. This includes those little lies you may call “white lies”. Did you say you sent an email when you didn't? Were you late for work, but said that you were on time? God still grieves this. The Word tell us a lying tongue is for a moment, and truthful lips endure forever. Eventually truth comes to light. In the context of work, depending on what you have lied about, it could have implications on how long your employment “endures”. One of the ways we can lie is by being a false witness. If you don't know, don't comment! And don't assume! Providing untrue information about someone or something at work can have implications far beyond your passing comment. This includes speculating about someone's motives in a situation. If you don't have direct and honest information, it is best to say nothing at all. In Proverbs 12:17 the Word tells us: An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies. It is easy to think we know things when we really don't at all. Sometimes at work, you will be called upon as a witness. It is important to only state facts and not assumptions about what you are asked, and not to comment if you truly don't know anything. Sowing discord. The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing (Proverbs 12:18). Think about what happens when you quickly comment about something at work. Being rash means proceeding without a lack of careful consideration of the possible consequences and in this case, of the words being used. Do you blurt things out? Comment in meetings at an inappropriate time? Complain about company policies or other colleagues? Do your inside feelings of dissatisfaction come out? All of this can sow discord and God hates this. How can you bring healing instead? Sometimes, saying nothing is the best thing you can choose.

Truth Be Told with Booker Scott – The same pattern shows up in the left's love affair with socialism. It sells comfort, promises free everything, and pretends somebody else will foot the bill. That fantasy collapses under the weight of arithmetic. Tax the rich, they say, and all will be well. It will not. The math never works. The cost lands on the middle class, the poor, and the next generation...

August 2026 Energy Forecast – Living Re-Entry: Returning to Life Without Returning to Who You WereOverall theme of August Energy Forecast: Living Re-entry — Returning to Life Without Returning to Who You Were: The gradual widening of participation once more after a period in which the human system has needed to reduce contact with certain parts of life. This is not a dramatic rebirth or a return to the past — it's an invitation to enter life as the person you are now.Embodiment Key: Arc of Living Re-Entry: From Protective Distance to Present Tense ParticipationUnderstanding the Movement of August Building on July's focus on Structural Coherence, August reveals what those strengthened structures are now able to hold — not just responsibility and alignment, but the living person with temperament, humor, preference, curiosity, creativity, and the capacity for rest and joy.The Five Themes of August Theme 1: Renewed Openness to Experience — Becoming More Willing to Move Toward Life: This theme may appear through a renewed willingness to encounter something beyond what has become familiar. You may want to taste something different, visit somewhere new, change your surroundings, move your body in another way, learn something, call someone, make something, wear something, explore an interest, or become more available to an experience without fully understanding why it has your attention.Theme 2: Present-Tense Life — The Body Stops Living Ahead of the Moment: This theme may show up through an increasing awareness of how frequently the Human System has been living ahead of itself. August begins returning attention from anticipated futures into the life that is already occurring. Your day is not a waiting room — it is part of your life.Theme 3: Unedited Contact — Relationship Becomes More Immediate and Human: Human part means: People are allowed to show up as they actually are. This theme may appear through a desire for relationship to become simpler and more real. And also there is less tolerance for overly managed communication. More direct, honest, kind, and real human presence. Truthful contact is care that no longer requires the disappearance of the actual person.Theme 4: The Creative Pulse — Something Wants to Move Before It Has a Purpose: August loosens the demand that expression justify itself in advance. Let ideas, writing, cooking, humor, design, or movement exist because they carry life — not because they are already proven useful.Theme 5: Full-Sensory Belonging — The Ordinary World Becomes Inhabitable Again: This theme may show up through an unexpected return of meaning to ordinary things. The lived world becomes inhabitable again. Belonging is the experience of being present enough to feel yourself inside your own life — through familiar sounds, textures, nourishment, beauty, and physical comfort. Life becomes inhabitable through the moments you allow yourself to fully enter.Join: https://www.patreon.com/c/inspiringyoucommunity/membershipTo purchase Light Format — A Structural Lexicon: Codified Definitions for Soul Signal, Field Coherence, and Embodied Architecture: https://a.co/d/09V6nG6cWith love, care and gratitude,Henri

August 3, 2026 | Season 8 | Episode 24A market can look calm right up until it doesn't, and this week's setup shows why. We start with the big drivers that hit all at once: the Federal Reserve holding interest rates steady, a bond market that reacts to credibility as much as data, and a fresh wave of headlines out of Iran that immediately changes the tone for oil, stocks, and risk appetite. If you follow geopolitics and markets, the Strait of Hormuz and the path of crude prices are not abstract. They are inputs into inflation expectations, Treasury yields, and equity multiples. Then we zoom out to something most investors don't spend enough time on: the psychology behind leadership. I walk through how Winston Churchill's early combat and war-correspondent years built a risk tolerance and communication style that later shaped real decisions, and how Donald Trump's New York City tabloid era taught him to treat media attention as leverage. The takeaway is practical: if you want to anticipate how policy is messaged and how pressure is handled, you study the blueprint, not just the latest headline. From there, we get tactical on what moved markets: the rare US and Bank of Japan currency intervention that jolts USD/JPY and flows directly into the Treasury market, plus the AI trade unwind that shows how leverage and margin calls can force liquidation even when a thesis is directionally right. We also break down big tech earnings from Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Apple to separate AI capital expenditures from real AI monetization. Finally, we close with a second major investing theme gaining speed: GLP-1 obesity drugs and why the next wave, including oral pills, could reshape healthcare and markets. If this helps you think more clearly about risk, rates, tech earnings, and the narratives that move prices, subscribe, share the episode, and leave a review with your biggest takeaway.** For informational and educational purposes only, not intended as investment advice. Whoever loves instruction and correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is like a brute beast, stupid and indiscriminating. 2 A good man obtains favor from the Lord, but a man of wicked devices He condemns. 3 A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall never be moved. 4 A virtuous and worthy wife [earnest and strong in character] is a crowning joy to her husband, but she who makes him ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. 5 The thoughts and purposes of the [consistently] righteous are honest and reliable, but the counsels and designs of the wicked are treacherous. 6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them and the innocent ones [thus endangered]. 7 The wicked are overthrown and are not, but the house of the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall stand. 8 A man shall be commended according to his Wisdom [godly Wisdom, which is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God], but he who is of a perverse heart shall be despised. 9 Better is he who is lightly esteemed but works for his own support than he who assumes honor for himself and lacks bread. 10 A [consistently] righteous man regards the life of his beast, but even the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. 11 He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits is lacking in sense and is without understanding. 12 The wicked desire the booty of evil men, but the root of the [uncompromisingly] righteous yields [richer fruitage]. 13 The wicked is [dangerously] snared by the transgression of his lips, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall come out of trouble. 14 From the fruit of his words a man shall be satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hands shall come back to him [as a harvest]. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise. 16 A fool's wrath is quickly and openly known, but a prudent man ignores an insult. 17 He who breathes out truth shows forth righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), but a false witness utters deceit. 18 There are those who speak rashly, like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 19 Truthful lips shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is [credited] but for a moment. 20 Deceit is in the hearts of those who devise evil, but for the counselors of peace there is joy. 21 No [actual] evil, misfortune, or calamity shall come upon the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil, misfortune, and calamity. 22 Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight. 23 A prudent man is reluctant to display his knowledge, but the heart of [self-confident] fools proclaims their folly. 24 The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labor. 25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but an encouraging word makes it glad. 26 The [consistently] righteous man is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked causes others to go astray. 27 The slothful man does not catch his game or roast it once he kills it, but the diligent man gets precious possessions. 28 Life is in the way of righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation), and in its pathway there is no death but immortality (perpetual, eternal life).

Are you actually holding people accountable, or are you just making them nervous? In this milestone 300th episode of Entrepreneurs United, co-hosts John St. Pierre and Rich Hoffmann go deep on one of the most misunderstood leadership skills: accountability. Rich has been coaching leaders and entrepreneurs on this for years, and what he finds is consistent: most leaders have inherited a definition of accountability that quietly works against them.In this episode, Rich and John break down the real two-step process for accountability that actually works: collecting a genuine commitment and following up on facts, not feelings. What you'll walk away with: why accountability is a support system, not a punishment, and what that means in practice. The three-part commitment that closes every accountability gap: who, what, and when. Why letting people set their own deadlines makes commitment more likely to stick. How to tell if a pattern of missed commitments is a commitment problem or a competency problem. The TSP method (Truthful, Specific, Positive) for reinforcement that builds accountability into your culture.Hosted by John St. Pierre and Rich Hoffmann, Entrepreneurs United is built for founders and leaders who want straight talk on building businesses that actually work. The podcast for the world's most interesting writers is going a little closer to home; we're visiting Leeds and the North of England for a conversation about with Stu Hennigan about his novel, KESHED.  Not only is it lovely to speak about some of the places I know really well, but also a bittersweet too, as Stu's novel reminds of me of the people and places I've moved away from.  What I loved about Stu's novel, is its sheer vividness of its writing, combining, artfully, the vernacular and the obscene. It's evocations of northern town and cities that are close to me, but also its unflinching approach to troubling subject matter. Stu Hennigan is a writer, poet, editor, and musician based in Leeds, UK. His acclaimed book, Ghost Signs: Poverty and the Pandemic, became notable for its powerful documentary fo the  city's most deprived communities during COVID-19 lockdown. Youth mental health isn't just struggling—it's in full crisis mode. In this episode, the hosts sit down with The Truthful Therapist to unpack what's really happening beneath the surface of rising anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges in children. They challenge conventional narratives around therapy, diagnosis, and treatment—questioning whether current systems are truly helping kids or unintentionally making things worse. The conversation dives into the role of family dynamics, environment, overdiagnosis, and the increasing medicalization of normal childhood struggles. This episode pulls back the curtain on modern mental health approaches and asks a bigger question: Are we treating kids—or labeling them? Key Topics Discussed The growing youth mental health crisis and what's driving it Why more access to therapy isn't always translating into better outcomes The difference between normal childhood struggles vs. clinical conditions How labels and diagnoses can shape identity—and sometimes limit it The role of family systems, parenting, and environment in mental health Concerns around overmedication and one-size-fits-all treatment models What kids actually need (that often gets overlooked) How to build resilience instead of dependency on systems Key Takeaways Mental health challenges in kids are rising, influenced by social, environmental, and systemic factors—not just biology Not every emotional struggle requires a diagnosis—context matters Over-labeling can unintentionally create long-term identity limitations Family involvement is critical—kids don't exist in isolation Effective care should focus on skills, resilience, and environment, not just symptoms There is a growing gap between access to care and quality of outcomes Memorable Moments The breakdown of how “help” can sometimes reinforce the problem Real-world examples of kids being misdiagnosed or overtreated The discussion on how modern culture is shaping fragile coping mechanisms A candid look at therapy trends that may be missing the mark About the Guest Pamela Garfield-Jaeger is a licensed clinical social worker based in California with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Known online as The Truthful Therapist, she brings a direct, no-nonsense perspective to today's most controversial topics in youth mental health. Pamela is the author of A Practical Approach to Gender Distress, where she provides guidance for parents navigating complex and often confusing mental health landscapes. Her work focuses on helping families move beyond labels and toward practical, grounded strategies that support long-term emotional well-being. She is a strong advocate for critical thinking in mental health care—encouraging parents and professionals alike to question assumptions, prioritize context, and focus on resilience-building over quick diagnoses. We are born to “look for who is looking for us.”    In the Voice of the Heart, which came out years before neuroscience research validated Dr Dodd's work, he writes that we are created by God to seek life to the full, but we can only find that fulfillment in relationship with ourselves (head and heart connected), with other, and with God.    Relational fulfillment is a dictate of our emotional and spiritual genetics. This genetic makeup is so powerful that we will seek a sense of connection that relationship brings in legitimate forms or in illegitimate ways as other episodes have explained, like the recent Addiction Series, Episodes 97-110.   So much of life is about the benefits of relational fulfillment that even the word share means that you receive from others initially, so that you can offer the gifts you have to others—whether that be the flowers you have grown; the experiences you have had; or the love you have received.   We cannot give what we do not have; therefore, we must be open to all that relational fulfillment can offer us, so that we have much to offer others.    Research has shown that gratitude for receiving allows a person to increase their sense of gratitude by giving.   There exists a “child-like” willingness that a person must have to live fully, because relational fulfillment with another person requires that we be: Truthful enough to be trustworthy. Teachable enough to learn how to care well. Humble enough to be open to being relational. Brave enough to face our needs.   Click here to continue reading the episode highlights.

Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Our shout-out today goes to Ken McKinney from Ellaville, GA. Thanks for your partnership in Project23. We cannot do this without donors like you. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 13:13. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. — 1 Corinthians 13:13 Paul ends with a ranking. Faith. Hope. Love. All three remain. But one is greater in how it remains. Love. Why? Faith trusts what it cannot see. Hope longs for what has not yet arrived. Both belong to this present age. One day faith will become sight. Hope will become fulfillment. Love will not change. It will remain. Love does not graduate into something better. It does not expire when the age ends. Love reflects the eternal character of God. That is why it is greatest. It's the greatest remaining. Corinth was fighting over gifts that would pass away. Paul redirects them to what will remain forever. Anchor your life there. Not in visibility. Not in applause. Not in being right. Love. Truthful everlasting love. Spiritual maturity is measured by what will last. And love will last. DO THIS: Choose one unseen act of love this week—something that builds another person up without drawing attention to yourself. ASK THIS: If my gifts disappeared, would love still define me? Am I investing more in what impresses now—or what remains forever? PRAY THIS: Father, fix my heart on what is eternal. Teach me to pursue love above recognition and shape my life around what will never fade. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Here Is Love, Vast as the Ocean"

In this Jewish Inspiration Podcast episode (Day 130), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe continues the Gate of Flattery (Chanufa) from Orchos Tzaddikim, detailing the profound dangers of associating with or validating the wicked (resha'im), even without direct praise.Key teachings:Befriending the wicked is flattery — Associating with evildoers implies acceptance (“I'm okay with you as you are”) and gives them validation. It's itself an act of chanufa.Five major dangers of such association: You love someone who hates the Creator—contradicting loyalty to Hashem. You absorb their negative ways (inevitable influence).Others see your friendship and think “if he's friends with him, it's okay for me too”—spreading the rot.Even if they don't imitate, they become accustomed to seeing forbidden things. You fail to protest/reprimand when able—making you accountable for their sins (mitzvas tochacha).Reprimand only when accepted — If they won't listen, don't speak (avoids lashon hara and escalation). Instead, pray for their improvement.Personal story — A woman was deeply hurt by another's nasty comment in class. Rabbi advised praying for the offender's insight rather than confrontation. A week later, she returned transformed—now loving the person and praying for their growth, turning pain into an opportunity for elevation.Becoming “big” (gadol) — True greatness means expanding beyond self: responsibility for spouse, children, community, Klal Yisrael. Start small (self-improvement), then influence outward. Rabbi Saul Salanter's journey: couldn't change the world → country → town → neighborhood → family → only self.Practical application — Don't compare or compete; maximize your unique gifts. Patience and kindness (e.g., not honking in traffic) reflect self-respect and prevent spiritual “bankruptcy.” Small acts of restraint build character and influence others positively. The rabbi urges: begin at home, expand responsibility outward, and live with self-awareness—true greatness is selflessness and influence through example, not ego._____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on January 5, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on February 20, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism. In this Jewish Inspiration Podcast episode (Day 129), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe continues the Gate of Flattery (Chanufa) from Orchos Tzaddikim, focusing on the third major aspect: praising or commending the wicked (reshayim) in their presence or before others—even indirectly.Key teachings:Praising the wicked — Saying “he's a good person,” “he's pleasant,” or highlighting minor good deeds—even without justifying their evil—is forbidden. It risks elevating them undeservedly and creating stumbling blocks.Consequences — The wicked feel validated (“I'm really a good guy”), double down on evil, and become more entrenched. Others may honor them, envy their “success,” imitate them, or lose respect for true tzaddikim (righteous people).Honoring tzaddikim — When the righteous are exalted, people heed their counsel, envy their good deeds, and grow in Torah/yiras shamayim (fear of heaven). This aligns with Hashem's intent in creation.Practical warning — Avoid praising the wicked unless also mentioning their evil (to maintain balance and truth). Even neutral/positive comments can lead to misplaced honor and spiritual damage.Broader impact — Flattery of resha'im desecrates Torah/divine service. The soul yearns for closeness to Hashem—praising evil distances us from that. The rabbi ties this to current events (e.g., evil regimes collapsing) and emphasizes aligning with Hashem's values: honor the righteous, distance from flattery, and bring God-consciousness through truthful speech and actions._____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on January 5, 2026, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on February 18, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! In this Jewish Inspiration Podcast episode (Day 126), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe continues the Gate of Truth (Sha'ar HaEmes) from Orchos Tzaddikim, stressing that truth is the core of God, the soul, and Jewish destiny in exile. Key teachings:Prolonged exile due to sins — Current long exile stems from Jewish sins; we must separate from worldly vanities and cling to Hashem's seal—truth.Sanctify through truth — Abstain even from permissible things to avoid any trace of falsehood (97% truth = 100% false); never lie or mislead Jew or Gentile in any matter.Exile for converts — Hashem scattered Jews among nations to add gerim (converts); honest dealings inspire non-Jews to join (Midrash: “I will sow her for Myself in the land” = exile brings converts).Return stolen items — Stories of Rabbi Shimon ben Shetach returning a precious stone in a donkey purchase, and sages returning money found in wheat—Gentiles proclaimed “Blessed is the God of the Jews.” Sanctification of God's Name through honesty.Reward of truth — Truth sprouts from earth; righteousness looks down from heaven (Psalms 85:12). Truthful living glorifies Hashem and draws divine favor.Wicked rewarded in this world — Hashem pays wicked for minor merits now to destroy them eternally (Deuteronomy); better for righteous to suffer briefly here and receive eternal reward in Olam Haba.Practical application — Cling to truth in all dealings; exile teaches separation from falsehood and reliance on Hashem alone. The rabbi reflects on modern parallels (antisemitism, unity in crises like Nachshon Waxman) and urges living truthfully to hasten redemption—Moshiach comes when truth prevails. Ends previewing next trait: flattery (chanufa)._____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Peter & Becky BotvinRecorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on September 1, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on February 15, 2026_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired!
