Speaking of which, I do drop a few thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip that will supposedly be announced at the upcoming Unpacked event. Let's find out how co-host David Imel and I fared in our little sleep experiment, sponsored by Traditional Medicinals! In the weeks that followed our previous episode together, we tracked our sleep using a few different trackers and supported our wind-down routines with Nighty Night tea by Traditional Medicinals. I also talk about a stronger version of the Nighty Night tea that includes valerian root, an herb that has been used to combat sleeplessness for decades.* This tea, a soothing mix of herbs, including passionflower, calms the nervous system and helps get you ready for bed.* Coupled with a wind-down routine, Nighty Night can be a valuable addition to any sleep schedule. Tea drinkers can enjoy the caffeine-free Nighty Night during the latter hours of the day, especially within an hour of laying down to rest. Bear in mind that this herbal supplement tea can induce drowsiness, so heed the label's warning not to partake in any activity that requires mental alertness for at least a couple of hours. With that level of sleep support, David and I expect to feel pretty rested even throughout our travels. In hopes of getting good sleep during all of the tech launches and conferences ahead (including Mobile World Congress in Barcelona), David and I decided to take mindful steps toward a better night's rest. The podcast is back with a couple of surprises! This episode was recorded in late January with my girlfriend, Isa Rodriguez (@sisasaid), at the end of her trip to California, which included our work at CES 2019 in Las Vegas. Together, we make ourselves cups of a tea by our tea sponsor—that’s right, the podcast has a tea sponsor! A huge thank you to Traditional Medicinals for powering this and, hopefully, future podcasts with their extensive and great catalog of teas that you can find in many local grocers and online. They specialize in herbal teas that deliver benefits to support your lifestyle and health. The tea we drink in this episode is called Throat Coat. Throat Coat supports throat health with soothing slippery elm bark, creating a smooth and silky sensation for your throat, paired with the comforting flavors of licorice and marshmallow root.*. This tea was SUPER important for CES, where I managed to work constantly without losing my voice. Isa and I recount some stories where sharing my tea actually helped our friends (and how having it on me at all times really fits my branding—haha) before she shares her favorites and highlights from the show. How to LDR (Isa Rodriguez!)

A very special episode comes your way this week as I bring my girlfriend, Isa Rodriguez (YouTube, Instagram, Twitter) to the TEAcast! She has just arrived from Manila, Philippines to spend time with me for a couple of weeks on this side of the earth - so, naturally, the first thing I do is get us some matcha green tea from Sip in Rowland Heights (wearesip.com), throw a concert-level microphone on her face, and make her talk about our long distance relationship (LDR) on a public forum! Isa and I have no problem brewing up a long and worthwhile conversation, so putting a couple of microphones in the mix is really no big deal. However, be prepared for a longer one in this episode - we go for a solid hour bouncing back and forth with our core topic. Rate and review the podcast on whatever network you are listening to us on! Who needs IFA when you got PAX West? (Thunder E of Booredatwork)

I'm joined by my first guest! You know him as Thunder E, the mastermind behind the great websorite and channel Booredatwork! Enobong (that's his real name) recounts some stories from PAX West in Seattle, gives some opinions on IFA news, and then gives a quick story about the origins of Booredatwork. I definitely learn a lot about a show that I have always wanted to attend - maybe next year I will skip IFA again in lieu of PAX. Pre-IFA for David, Switch games for me (#002 with David Imel)

David is on his way to IFA, literally hours after we recorded this episode with cups of coffee in the morning. After a little bit of camera talk (the Nikon Z7 was recently announced, after all) I ask David about his TDC (Travel Day Carry) and we fall down a rabbit hole regarding the Nintendo Switch. Gamers - you know the pain of buying games for basically no reason. Thanks for sticking around for more episodes of Tech and Tea! We're available on all of the different podcast networks (minus Spotify) so make sure to share the podcast with anyone and everyone that wants to just sit back and enjoy a cup of tea with us. David Imel and Lanh Nguyen join me at a wonderful place called tea drunk in Manhattan where super high quality (and super expensive) tea is served in a traditional Chinese manner. While sampling white, green, and oolong tea, the three of us talk a little bit about David's genealogy via 23 and Me, react to Samsung's Unpacked event, and take some pictures using the Galaxy Note 9 and the newly Bluetooth'd S Pen.  Thank you so much for joining us on the techandtea podcast!
