See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

-Apparently misleading protest videos are welcome to stay on Facebook now. Meta's Oversight Board has ruled that the company was right to leave up a manipulated video that made footage of a Serbian protest look like it took place in Holland and was in support of Rodrigo Duterte, former president of the Philippines. -Qualcomm just revealed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the appropriately-named second member of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 line. This follows the Gen 5 Elite, which was first revealed back in September. The standard Gen 5 is still a powerful mobile system-on-a-chip with a top clock speed of 3.8GHz. -The infamous "Kumma" children's AI teddy bear, once an expert in BDSM and knife-fetching, is back on sale. The company claims the toy now has stronger child safety protections in place. The Singapore-based FoloToy suspended sales of Kumma last week after a research group published an eyebrow-raising report. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which uses an Oryon CPU structure with lower clock speeds than the Elite version and delivers increased CPU and GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The chip supports satellite connectivity, ultra wideband, and an X80 modem with slightly reduced peak 5G speeds, while maintaining Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, charging, display, and most camera hardware capabilities. The Gen 5 does not support UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola, OnePlus, and Vivo plan to use the chip in upcoming devices, including the OnePlus 15R, with product launches expected soon.Learn more on this news by visiting us at: https://greyjournal.net/news/ Hosted on Acast. It's our annual horror spectacular, and this year the Munsons are joined by Stephanie Malone of the Morbidly Beautiful podcast to celebrate the chilling brilliance of Brad Dourif. From his legendary voice work as Chucky to a career packed with unforgettable roles across mainstream Hollywood and various horror franchises, Dourif has carved a place in cinematic nightmare history. We debate our favorite (and least favorite) Child's Play entries, dive into his uncanny ability to channel raw emotion into villains like his roles in Mississippi Burning and Chucky, and explore how even his “non-horror” films often circle back to real-life terror. Along the way, we unpack his fascinating backstory—his learning disability that ironically led to a stint as a college instructor, his early inspiration from his actress mother, and his royal treatment of his cats, Snapdragon and Honey Mustard. Stephanie helps us dissect Rob Zombie's polarizing take on the Halloween franchise, while the Munsons celebrate a career that's equal parts brilliant, bizarre, and blood-soaked. We close with a nod to Dourif's well-earned retirement: a horror legend content to hang with his cats, enjoy life as Chucky, and share the screen with his daughter. How does he rank on the Munson Meter? Listen to find out.

In this week's episode, we're diving into the world of apples with someone who lives and breathes them every single day. Our guest is Austin Fowler of Fowler Farms in upstate New York — a farm that's been in continuous operation since 1858. That's six generations of the Fowler family devoted to one crop, one passion, and one mission: growing apples of the highest quality.Think about that for a moment — six generations! The Civil War was still on the horizon when the Fowler family planted their first trees. Since then, they've weathered depressions, recessions, blights, storms, and the constant shifting demands of consumers — and through it all, they've not only survived, but thrived.Fowler Farms is known not only for honoring tradition but also for pushing innovation in apple growing. They've helped introduce new varieties that consumers now love, adopted cutting-edge growing practices, and built a legacy that has shaped the apple industry in New York and far beyond. In this episode, Austin will take us into the orchard to talk about what it's really like to grow apples in the modern era — the science, the challenges, the weather, and of course, the joy of bringing in a harvest that might end up on your kitchen table. We'll also talk about how tastes in apples are changing, why some varieties explode in popularity while others quietly fade away, and what it means to carry a family legacy into the next generation. So whether you're a fan of Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Empire, or one of the many newer apples like Snapdragon that are making waves in the produce aisle, you'll want to stay tuned. By the end of this episode, you'll have a new appreciation for the people, the history, and the hard work behind every single apple you bite into.

RIP Dennis Schreiner on Linux Mint and BeeLink Sluggishness I just wanted to say that I have a Beelink with Ryzen 5800 U and Linux Mint is not running well for me on it either. I think Mint is the Problem since it switched to Ubuntu. I have since had a lot of performance issues with it. Also in the Top Linux List it's going downhill. I wouldn't now recommend Mint anymore for beginners and low-spec'd PCs. Since I switched my BeeLink to Fedora Linux (KDE Plasma version) it's very smooth-running again. Also Fedora is pretty easy to operate. Bazzite and Nobara are also beginner-friendly with low spec requirements. I'm enjoying TA, thank you :) CachyOS Ujjwal Sehgal on Retroid Pocket Classic I bought this thinking I'd use it purely for retro gaming but it's starting to become a favourite overall retro gadget. I find myself using it to listen to music when I'm away from my phone. The squareish screen is great for watching old 4:3 TV content.
