Today, we bring in a musical guru of sorts to talk about a band and an album that is near and dear to this guy. Mark Alan Miller is the husband to former guest, Elizabeth MacDuffie, as you would have heard if you listened to our episode on Bread in July. Today is definitely not stale and Mark brings a lot of great insight and knowledge on a band that we had no idea about. You can find everything Mark and Elizabeth are doing if you go to their Facebook page, Meat for Teacast. -------------------- Music used throughout the show created by Jair Driesenga Follow him @brotherjair on Instagram, Facebook, Bandcamp, and Youtube. We sure had a great time talking with Miranda Brown and Brian Marchese for this episode! Miranda is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has not only her own recordings and performances in her dossier, but has played with many luminaries like AC Newman, The New Pornographers, Ryan Adams, Crooked Fences, The Lonesome Brothers, Eric Bachman, David Dondero, The Space Elevators, and Oh No Oh My. Brian also is a multi-instrumentalist, known widely for his drumming and, aside from his own solo project Sitting Next To Brian, is or has been a part of many great bands like The Fawns, School For The Dead, Gentle Hen, Lo-Fine, Goldwater, The Figments, The Mal Thursday Quintet, Our Wicked Hearts, and many more, and has played on records by such cool folks like Mark Mulcahy and Haunt. There's so much covered in here - it's a long one (but worth it!) - including sharing some memories and cool stories of their musical careers, and a lot more outside of just music. Songs featured during the conversation: Glacier - "Snow" Our Wicked Hearts - "I Should Go" Pineapples - "Early Waters" The Fawns - "Sun" Miranda Brown and band - "The Get Around" --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/meatforteacast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/meatforteacast/support

We're back! Well, I'm back again with my girlfriend talking about our long distance relationship (LDR) for the second time. Just before she left for the Philippines, Isa and I had some coffee early in the morning and we spoke about the many different places that we have been blessed to visit together. Our LDR is a bit unique in that we have been able to meet up more often abroad than in our respective home countries, but through our unique experience we share some tips on how to travel with your significant other. It's another episode filled with twists and turns - no really, we go off tangent quite a few times, as always. Follow Isa Rodriguez everywhere! http://twitter.com/sisasaid http://instagram.com/sisasaid http://instagram.com/isadoestech http://instagram.com/isadoesfitness Rate and review the podcast on whatever network you are listening to us on! A very special episode comes your way this week as I bring my girlfriend, Isa Rodriguez (YouTube, Instagram, Twitter) to the TEAcast! She has just arrived from Manila, Philippines to spend time with me for a couple of weeks on this side of the earth - so, naturally, the first thing I do is get us some matcha green tea from Sip in Rowland Heights (wearesip.com), throw a concert-level microphone on her face, and make her talk about our long distance relationship (LDR) on a public forum! Isa and I have no problem brewing up a long and worthwhile conversation, so putting a couple of microphones in the mix is really no big deal. However, be prepared for a longer one in this episode - we go for a solid hour bouncing back and forth with our core topic. Rate and review the podcast on whatever network you are listening to us on! Share your thoughts on the podcast on social media using the hashtag #techandtea while tagging myself (@jvtechtea) and general co-host David Imel (@durvidimel). David worked with Les Blank on creating, "All in this Tea", a 70 minute documentary film on searching China's markets and plantations for great tasting tea, especially varietals grow without chemicals and pesticides. David is devoted to sustainable agriculture and is keenly aware of the cycle of energy and resources that are utilized in our daily lives.Teacast.org is pleased to bring you a portion of our tasting with David, recorded in early February 2010.
