(Mar 20, 2026) Fresh wet snow in the forecast. High Peaks summit temps in the teens. World Cup Cross Country competition at Van Hoevenberg this weekend.

(Mar 13, 2026) Chance for snow through weekend, especially at higher elevations. Drainages have been seriously affected by recent thaw. Several bridges damaged in High Peaks.

(Mar 6, 2026) Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday at 2am. Snow at highest elevations remains very deep, 6-8 feet or more.

(Feb 27, 2026) Windchills on summits in single digits below zero on Saturday. 1-2 feet of snow across the Adirondacks at lower elevations. Expect busy snowmobile trails.

(Feb 20, 2026) Gaining 3 minutes of daylight per day. 1-2 feet of snow across most lower elevations in the ADKs.

(Feb 13, 2026) Deep freeze has ended for much of the ADKs. Ski conditions very good everywhere. Keep an eye on the weather for Monday.

(Feb 6, 2026) Dangerously cold windchills of 20 to 40 below expected. Gaining more than 2.5 minutes of sunlight each day. 1-2 ft of snow at lower elevations around ADKs.

(Jan 30, 2026) Snowshoes and skis needed wherever you go. Over four feet of snow at Lake Colden. Nearly all snowmobile trails open in the Adirondacks.

(Jan 23, 2026) Now gaining more than 2 minutes of sunlight each day. Summits should be avoided. Dangerously cold wind chills. 8-12 inches of snow at lower elevations.

(Jan 16, 2026) Backcountry skiing took a big hit with rain and warm weather. Temps will be very cold, especially with windchill. Chance for snow showers through the weekend.

(Jan 9, 2026) Keep an eye on rivers and streams as they rise from the rain and snowmelt. There remains at least 6 to 8 inches of snow on the ground at lower elevations.

(Dec 5, 2025) Dangerously cold wind chills on high peaks. 18 inches of snow at Lake Colden. More than a foot of snow in Tupper Lake. No ice is considered safe.

(Nov 28, 2025) Wind chills on High Peaks in the single digits to teens below zero. 4-8 inches of snow at lower elevations. Whiteface and Gore will start daily operations.

(Oct 17, 2025) Bird migration forecast is showing an increase in birds moving through the area this weekend. High Peaks summit temperatures in the 30s and 40s.

(Oct 10, 2025) High Peaks temperatures in the lower 40s through the weekend, with windchills in the mid-20s. Most foliage is past peak. Drought warning remains.

(Oct 3, 2025) Sunny and dry, with High Peaks summit temperatures in upper 50s and lower 60s. Fire Danger is HIGH across Northern New York.

(Sep 26, 2025) Mostly sunny and dry weekend. Fire danger Low. Saturday is Free Fishing Day across NY State. Scarface Mt. Trail has reopened.

(Sep 19, 2025) Possibility of frost tonight and tomorrow night. Fire Danger for most of Northern NY is now HIGH. Wildfires will be possible, use caution with open fires.
