Interview with Paul Chawrun, COO of i-80 Gold Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/i-80-gold-tsxiau-500m-secured-to-advance-development-plan-9289Recording date: 4th March 2026i-80 Gold Corp. has reached the most consequential milestone in its development history. After an extended period during which the scale and complexity of the company's Nevada asset package generated uncertainty in parts of the investment community, i-80 has closed a major financing round with institutional participation including royalty major Franco-Nevada and issued a full notice to proceed to Hatch Engineering on the $430 million Lone Tree autoclave refurbishment. The company is now in execution mode. The Lone Tree facility is a formerly operating autoclave plant, originally developed by Newmont, that requires refurbishment rather than construction from scratch. That distinction matters. i-80 is working with established infrastructure, proven technology, and a team that includes personnel who have previously operated this specific autoclave. The feasibility study underpinning the project is classified at Level 2/3, one of the most detailed engineering standards available, providing a high degree of confidence in both the capital estimate and the construction schedule. First gold pour is targeted for end of December 2027, with a production ramp-up to 150,000–160,000 ounces per year in Q1 2028.At $3,000 per ounce gold, i-80 estimates net annual cash flow from Lone Tree of $150–200 million. With spot gold prices currently trading above that modelling assumption, the economics are materially stronger than the base case and the margin advantage compounds as gold prices rise, given the largely fixed cost structure of autoclave processing.Beyond Lone Tree, i-80 is deploying approximately $80 million in drilling across its Nevada portfolio in 2026. At Ruby Underground, infill drilling is advancing resources toward measured and indicated status ahead of a future feasibility study. At Granite Creek, a drilling campaign has recently concluded — extended due to continued mineralisation discovery — with feasibility results expected in Q2 2026. At Mineral Point, the programme targets conversion of a resource base that already contains 3 million ounces measured and indicated and 2 million ounces inferred, supporting a prefeasibility study in early 2027 and eventual open pit production currently estimated for 2032.The company's three-phase production roadmap — Lone Tree, followed by Mineral Point and Granite Creek open pits — targets aggregate annual output of 500,000–600,000 ounces, firmly within mid-tier producer territory. Each phase carries its own timeline and permitting requirements, but the financing now in place is specifically structured to accelerate the Mineral Point schedule by one to two years through earlier drilling and EIS process initiation.Franco-Nevada's participation in the financing, following a competitive due diligence process, provides third-party institutional validation of the asset quality. For investors assessing i-80 at this stage, the primary investment question has shifted. The debate is no longer whether the company can raise the capital — it has. The focus now is on execution: construction progress at Lone Tree, resource conversion milestones, and the pace at which the subsequent phases can be advanced toward production. For investors seeking leveraged exposure to gold through a Nevada-based developer with a funded near-term production catalyst and a credible multi-phase growth plan, i-80 Gold presents a materially different risk profile today than it did twelve months ago.View i-80 Gold's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/i-80-goldSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com
I never thought I'd be glued to my screen watching courtrooms turn into battlegrounds, but here we are in early March 2026, and the trials involving Donald Trump are heating up like never before. Just days ago, on March 4, the federal election interference case kicked off in Washington, D.C., under U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan. Special Counsel Jack Smith, leading the charge, accuses Trump of a criminal scheme to overturn the 2020 election results—think fake electors, pressuring Vice President Mike Pence to alter the vote count, and pushing sham investigations through the Justice Department, all while the January 6 riot unfolded at the Capitol. Trump pleaded not guilty back in 2023, calling it political persecution, but now, with jury selection underway, his legal team, including attorneys John Lauro and Todd Blanche, is fighting tooth and nail.Flash back to that tense August 2023 hearing where it all ramped up. Trump's lawyers begged Judge Chutkan for an April 2026 start date—ironically, just weeks from now—citing 11.6 million pages of discovery evidence, everything from National Archives documents to Truth Social posts and House January 6 Committee transcripts. They claimed it was like reviewing stacks as tall as eight Washington Monuments, and rushing it would be a miscarriage of justice, denying Trump effective counsel. Lauro even accused Smith of turning it into a show trial. But Chutkan shot that down, setting March 4, 2024, as the date, saying it balanced preparation time with the public's right to a speedy trial. She told Lauro point-blank, you're not getting two more years. Prosecutors like Molly Gaston pushed back hard, noting 65% of those pages were duplicates or already public, with key docs front-loaded for quick review. It's not just D.C. Overlapping chaos: In New York, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's hush money case, tied to a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election, was slated for late March 2024 but has dragged with appeals. Down in Georgia, Fulton County DA Fani Willis wants Trump and co-defendants like Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and David Shafer in court over 41 counts of election interference—her team requested March 4, 2024, too. And don't forget Florida's classified documents mess at Mar-a-Lago, where Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, pushed it to May 2024. Trump's strategy? Delay, delay, delay—hoping a 2024 win lets him pardon himself on federal charges, though state cases like New York's and Georgia's are bulletproof. These past few days, whispers from ABC News and Courthouse News suggest sealed proceedings from 2022-2023 are resurfacing, with Trump's team fighting grand jury testimony from 14 witnesses. Politico reported the stark clash: Smith gunning for January 2024, Trump eyeing post-election limbo. As of today, March 6, the D.C. trial's in full swing, witnesses lining up, and Trump's Truth Social rants risking contempt under Chutkan's protective order against inflammatory statements. The stakes? Subverting democracy versus a former president's right to a fair shot. History's watching every gavel bang. Thanks for tuning in, listeners. For decades, raw sewage was pumped into Lake Horowhenua, earning it the dubious reputation as one of New Zealand's most polluted waterways. Now, a huge cleanup project is underway to try and restore it back to health. But could the fetid lake two kilometres west of Levin ever be safe to swim in again? For the past five summers a special harvester has operated in the lake, chopping out invasive weeds to try and give native species to the chance to flourish and replenish the oxygen-deprived water. Jimmy Ellingham reports.

Glenn Jessome, President & CEO of Silver Tiger Metals (TSX.V:SLVR) (OTCQX:SLVTF), joins me for a candid and nuanced conversation on why the Company elected to take the recent financing instead of a larger debt package; while also still leveraging the debt term sheets in place for the combined surface and underground development of the El Tigre Silver-Gold Project in Sonora, Mexico. We start off reviewing the reality that negotiating a debt deal is much more complex, with more restrictions and debt covenants, than most people realize. The company has narrowed the 3 debt term providers down to just 2 now, and are they are still pursuing debt for the larger overall needs. Glenn unpacks the sequence of events and his thought process on why they opted to go with the financing instead, and outlines the decision making process for those investors that were surprised, confused, or that had submitted questions about this transaction. On Feb. 18, 2026 Silver Tiger Metals announced it had closed its previously announced bought deal offering of common shares of the Company with a syndicate of underwriters. An aggregate of 49,146,400 Shares at a price of C$1.17 per Share for gross proceeds to the Company of C$57,501,288 were sold, which includes the exercise in full of the Underwriters' over-allotment option. The Company intends to use the proceeds of the Offering to fund exploration and development expenditures at the Company's El Tigre Project in Mexico, as well as for working capital and general corporate purposes. We also dive into all the construction activities already underway on the ground at El Tigre, and what criteria are being decided on in the background by the board and management team to be able to announce the official construction decision in March. If you have any follow up questions for Glenn regarding Silver Tiger Metals, then please email them into me at Shad@kereport.com. Our Head of European Sustainability Research Rachel Fletcher talks about how AI's is quickly reshaping employment and productivity across key industries and regions.Read more insights from Morgan Stanley.----- Transcript -----Rachel Fletcher: Welcome to Thoughts on the Market. I am Rachel Fletcher, Head of European Sustainability Research at Morgan Stanley. Today, how AI is shaking up the global job market. It's Friday, February 20th at 2pm in London. You've probably asked yourself when all the excitement around AI is going to move beyond demos and headlines, and start showing up in ways that matter to your job, your investments, and even your day-to-day life. Our latest global AlphaWise AI survey suggests that the turning point may already be unfolding – especially in the labor market where AI is beginning to influence hiring, productivity, and workplace skills. Our survey covered the U.S., UK, Germany, Japan, and Australia, across five sectors where we see a significant AI adoption benefit. Consumer staples, distribution in retail, real estate, transportation, healthcare, equipment and services, and autos. We found that AI contributed to 11 percent of jobs being eliminated over the past 12 months, with another 12 percent not backfilled. These job cuts were partially offset by 18 percent new hires, which results in a net 4 percent global job loss. It's important to note that the survey focused on companies that had already been adopting AI for at least a year. In fact, most of the companies in our survey had been adopting AI for more than two years. So, this is likely the most significant downside case in terms of the impact of AI on jobs, but it is still an early signal of potential job disruption. In Europe, the picture is nuanced. The UK saw the highest net job loss at 8 percent. This was primarily driven by a lower level of new hires in the UK compared to other countries that we surveyed, as well as a high level of positions not backfilled. This compares to Germany, which posted a 4 percent net job loss in line with the all-country average. There could be some other factors amplifying the impact in the UK. For example, broader labor market weakness driven by higher labor costs and higher levels of unemployment amongst younger workers. Ultimately, disentangling AI from macro forces remains challenging. Moving to sector impacts in Europe, autos experience the largest net job loss at 13 percent, and this compares to a 10 percent global average for the sector. It's possible these numbers reflect persistent sales weakness, and AI driven cost cutting. Transportation was least affected at 3 percent, whilst other sectors clustered around 6 to 7 percent. If we look at the top quintile of European companies reducing headcount, they've outperformed other companies that are more actively hiring. This suggests that investors are rewarding efficiency. On the downside, staffing firms face potential growth risks from AI displacement. On productivity, European firms report 10 to 11 percent gains from AI, close to the 11.5 percent global average, and the U.S. at 10.8 percent. It's worth noting that whilst Europe lags the U.S. in exposure to AI enablers, adopters and adopter enablers make up more than two-thirds of the MSCI Europe Index. However, European AI adopters have traded at a material discount versus their equivalent U.S. AI adoption peers. So, turning AI adoption into real ROI and defending pricing power is crucial for European companies. If we shift our focus to the U.S., there's a contrast. Whilst the global net job change was a 4 percent loss, the U.S. actually saw a 2 percent net gain, driven by AI related hiring. Our U.S. strategists have lifted expectations for S&P 500 margin expansion by 40 basis points in 2026 and 60 basis points in 2027. In our survey, the most frequently cited goals of AI deployment in the U.S. are boosting productivity, personalizing customer interactions, and accelerating data insights. Other common use cases include search, content generation, dashboards, and virtual agents. What's becoming clear is AI is no longer theoretical. Our survey data suggests that it is reshaping hiring, productivity and margins. The investor question is not whether AI matters, but who captures the value. Thanks for listening.
