In the second hour of the show, Tobin & Leroy preview tonight's Thursday Night game between the Rams and 49ers. They talk about the Dolphins as they get ready to take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. We hear comments from Fins QB Tua Tagovailoa as he mentions he made changes in his diet including adding more starch to his diet and eating starch before he plays on gameday. Tobin is happy with this because he loves Tua when his has some weight on him. The Niko's of this town Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola and Heat Forward Niko Jovic both got contract extensions and will be part of our South Florida community for the next 4 years, which pleases Ol' Tobes, Finally, We listen to comments from the world of sports in our Mixed Bag.
On today's Mix Bag we hear from: Connor McGregor - on fighting in the UFC White House card jets RB Breece Hall - on the Jets mistakes giving them an 04 record. Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra - On Heat center Ke'lal Ware
On todays Tobin Leroy show they guys talk abut the Heat and Panthers extending their Nikos. The Heat signed forward Nikola Jovic to a 4 year extension while the Panthers signed defenseman Niko Mikkola to a 8 year deal for 40 million. Tobin happy that his Nikos are gonna be in South Florida for some time. We hear comments from the Dolphins as they get ready to face the Carolina Panthers. how will they adjust their offense without Tyreek? Will Jaylyn Waddle become the #1? Hoe will Darren Waller fare in his second game back from retirement? They also, talk some college football as the U are getting ready for a Saturday night battle with the FSU Seminoles. Rueben Bain is making a lot of noise as many scouts see him as the 1 pick in next year's NFL draft. The guys talk to Heat forward Keldon Johnson from Heat Media Day. We play our favorite Thursday game "Goosie or No Goosies" and our daily favorite Mixed Bag
It's HUMP DAY and the guys kick things off with America's favorite pastime as the Wildcard gets underway. Tobin shamefully admits he loves him some Mormon Housewives content, and the gang debates whether FSU should be upset about having a Friday game ahead of the big matchup against Miami. Have we watered down the art of rushing the field? Plus, we're thrilled to report that weather reports are officially back at the Windowplex with Leroy. Big news out of Cleveland — the Browns decide to bench Joe Flacco in favor of rookie QB Dillon Gabriel. Meanwhile, how did Aaron Rodgers manage to put himself in the perfect position to win the division? The Cats are back in less than a week — what are they going to look like without Barkov, and will they bring him back in time? Vick Fangio stirs controversy by claiming something's going on with the kicking balls, and the crew remembers the legendary coach who once accused someone of putting helium in the footballs. In our Mixed Bag segment, Erik Spoelstra says he wants the New Yorkers gone, and Napheesa Collier shakes up the WNBA with some blunt exit interview comments about the league commissioner. From Boca Heat training camp, the guys react to news that Terry Rozier is dealing with a hamstring injury, while Barkov is out here hobnobbing with the Heatles. Tobin and Leroy dive into Tyreek Hill's injury and what they expect from Jaylen Waddle in his absence. Spoelstra reveals that Barkov told him he'll only be out 4–5 months — interesting. Then it's time for our favorite Wednesday game: Rats Off a Ship! Is LeBron stirring up drama again? And Tobin gets annoyed that the rest of the crew's rats seem to be on the fence about the Canes blowing out Florida State. News also hits that the Miami Dolphins have officially cut former second-round pick Cam Smith, and the gang reacts to Mike McDaniel's comments on the move. Tobin issues a Minus 1 to the Angels' social team after they post a graphic announcing they're not bringing back Ron Washington — but it looked like he had passed away. We go through the early slate of Wildcard games and give some final thoughts on the Cam Smith decision. Plus, we replay our interview with Bam Adebayo — he gets into not winning DPOY, his frustration, the team's mentality, last season, and what he expects this year. He gives praise to Norman Powell (but not too much), and shares insight on his relationship with Kel'el Ware.
In the third hour, Tobin & Leroy talk more about the Fins first win of the season 27-21 win over the New York Jets. The things that they were happy with in the win. The Run defense needs improvements as they gave up 200 yards on the ground and we don't know if the violence that Def Coordinator Anthony Weaver was looking for happened. TE Darren Waller was the butt of many jokes up until last night when he scored 2 TDs for the Fins and shut up all the haters. They take a look at the Miami Heat who had their first practice of training camp. Tyler Herro contract extension talks begin on Thursday and there is a 3 week window for this deal to get done, Will they give boy wonder the extension or have him play for it which may cost the Heat more money. Finally, We dipped into todays Mixed Bag.
On todays Mixed bag Its A Winning Miami Dolphins edition as we hear sound from the Fins after their 27-21 win over the New York Jets on Monday Night.

We are Jamie-obsessed on this next installation of Tissue Box Office, to the extent where everyone keeps accidentally renaming Ryan Gosling's character after our beloved cohost. While it's clear the whole Mixed Bag trio are bona fide Gos-heads, what do they think about the film that launched a million teen girl crushes? An epic love story centered around an older man who reads aloud to a woman with Alzheimer's. From a faded notebook, the old man's words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated by World War II, and is then passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths. (Sourced from Letterboxd). Plus, in Pop Corner we talk Gloria (1980), A Dream of a Woman by Casey Plett, Dear Zachary (2008), Survivor: Australia vs. the World, Splitsville and the 2025 Emmy Awards.
In this episode, Rebecca and Shaun catch up on life, business, and creative growth. Rebecca just returned from a design retreat at a beautifully designed cabin (by Form & Field), where she worked on brand strategy and made tangible progress on her website. They also dive into frustrating vendor experiences, the evolving role of AI agents in design work, and a hot take on whether being barefoot in brand photos is ever appropriate. In the second half of the episode, they debate the ethics, emotional labor, and financial risks that come with sourcing, receiving, and delivering furniture—especially when imperfections, shipping issues, and miscommunications arise. They also explore how one small branding detail like footwear in photos can signal so much about professionalism, identity, and client expectations. In this episode they discuss:Rebecca's design retreat: goals, structure, productivity, and what she accomplished (brand strategy guide, website refresh)The importance of having external accountability (“show and tell” among designer friends) to push projects forwardChallenges working with vendors and receiving warehouses: damaged goods, imperfect manufacturing, inspection failures, and the cost (financial & emotional) of fixing themWhy healthy project and product margins are non-negotiable in design to absorb unexpected costsThe rise of AI agents in business: potential, limitations, risks (data access, automation gone wrong)The debate on brand photo styling: barefoot vs shoes, what each choice communicates about professionalism and personal brandReflections on aging, style evolution, and gaps in the market (e.g. men's clothing quality and age-appropriateness)Mentioned:The Airbnb Rebecca stayed in for her retreathttps://formandfield.com/work/donner-lake-cabinRebecca worked on her brand guide based on ideas from Renee Bush from Tandem. The crew celebrates Precious Achiuwa's return to the Miami Heat and what it means for the team. Plus, Mike McDaniel has a questionable new nickname for Malik Washington you won't want to miss. Meanwhile, Tobin's had enough of Paul Finebaum and the SEC drama, sparking a classic Leroy rant on the College Football Playoff and all things SEC. The gang continues to break down Precious Achiuwa's return — and the crew breaks down what it means for the Miami Heat. Tobin catches goosies after hearing Davion Mitchell say he's always wanted to be in Miami and is excited to finally be here. Panthers center Anton Lundell shows love for the Miami Hurricanes. Plus, a Mixed Bag featuring Tank Davis, Frosling, and Jaelan Phillips. Tobin and Leroy dive into the Kansas City Chiefs' early struggles and ask the big question: can KC catch up if the rest of the division keeps improving? The crew also brings the heat in a new Rats Off a Ship! segment featuring Dak Prescott taking sacks from Micah Parsons on SNF, Tom Brady + Morals, and Brittney breaking everyone's heart by not knowing who “Macho Man” Randy Savage is. Ohhh yeah! The gang is still shaken and can not seem to get over Brittney not knowing who Randy Macho Man Savage is… she tries to defend herself but no one seems to care. The gang is pumped for the Canes v FSU, Rueban Bain is a unit, steal their horse Rueban! The Marlins continue to try to make the playoffs with only a couple games left. And the show ends in the only way we know how, by making fun of Leroy and his technology struggles.

On today's Tobin & Leroy show, the guys talk some football as tonight we have Thursday night football tonight between the Packers and Commanders in Lambeau Field. Tobin & Leroy talk about the Fins as they get ready to take on the New England Patriots on Sunday. They're ready to move on from the loss to take on the Pats. We hear from QWB Tua Tagovailoa and his answers tin his presser didn't give Tobin any sense of confidence. Leroy will be upset of he doesn't see any adjustments from Mike McDaniel and the offense. The guys talk some NBA basketball as Tobin wants to know what is going on with Heat guard Terry Rozier who gabling probe was thought to be over but NBA commissioner while talking at the Board of governors meeting saying any player that was involved in the gambling probe will be investigated by the NBA. Speaking if the Heat Tobin talks about the Lakers being interested in Heat wing player Andrew Wiggins. On Today's Mixed Bag we hear sound from: NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on streaming Kurt Warner: on the Miami Dolphins offensive struggles Russell Wilson: on his job security
In the hour formally known as hour Tua, Tobin gets Leroy upset with his change of attitude towards the Dolphins. As he is now saying after their interview with Ricky Williams yesterday that it's only week 1 no need to panic which is what Leroy has been saying forever. We hear from Fins QB Tua Tagovailoa who held his weekly press conference with reporters on Wednesday as he shared that losses keep him sleepless and the comments We get in our Mixed Bag were we hear comments from NBA commissioner Adam Silver on streaming,, Giants QB Russell Wilson on his job security and NFL Hall Of Famer Kurt Warner on the Dolphins.

It is just a regular hour 2 on the Tobin and Leroy show as Hour Tua has been suspended indefinitely, which means despite Tobin saying he was done with the EuroBasket updates because all the Heat guys have been eliminated… he must still give more. Leroy steps away for a bit to do a Cleveland hit, so Tobin and Brittney get into some Canes football and what they think about their matchup versus USF. Then it is time to dip into our Mixed Bag we hear from Stephen A Smith, Steve Sarkisian, and Jerry Jones.
It's another wild ride on the Tobin and Leroy Show, and the Dolphins are still living rent-free in Leroy's head—so much so that he had to explain to his doctor why his heart rate's been through the roof since Sunday. We kick things off with a mix of leftover Dolphins frustration, a look ahead to the Canes' highly anticipated matchup with USF, and Tobin trying (and failing) to get Brittney hyped for Canelo vs Crawford using bad F1 analogies. Just when Tobin thinks he's dodged Dolphins talk for a segment to talk about boxing, Leroy hijacks it with some Tua takes. In Hour 2, “Hour Tua” is officially suspended (for now), but that doesn't stop Tobin from relapsing into EuroBasket updates—despite saying he was done. While Leroy steps out for a Cleveland hit, Tobin and Brittney dive into more Canes talk, and then it's time for the always unpredictable “Mixed Bag,” featuring soundbites from Stephen A. Smith, Steve Sarkisian, and Jerry Jones. Leroy returns in Hour 3 just in time to be confused by Mike McDaniel again, and we get into a hilarious story about Dolphins fans launching a GoFundMe for a “Fire Grier and McDaniel” banner to fly over Hard Rock Stadium. We don't knock the hustle. Then it's time for our favorite Wednesday tradition—Rats Off A Ship—with rumors flying about Jon Gruden to Miami and Andrew Wiggins to the Lakers. Finally, in Hour 4, the Dolphins pain continues with injury news about Austin Jackson, and former Dolphins RB Ricky Williams joins the show to preach patience to the fanbase. Tobin immediately agrees with him—much to Leroy's frustration, since he's been saying the same thing for weeks. Naturally, Tobin has to keep the heart rate rising by playing a McDaniel clip on Darren Waller, leaving Leroy completely speechless.

Tyler Glasnow was dominant for the Los Angeles Dodgers, throwing seven no-hit innings to earn the victory over the Rockies. He was in position for the win because Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Shohei Ohtani came through with big hits when they needed them. And for the second time in the last three days, LA carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning, this time a combined effort that ended when Tanner Scott allowed a leadoff double in the ninth. TALK TO ME, TEXT ITHave you ever wondered what could trap someone inside a high-tech vehicle? The tragic case of Michael Sheehan, who perished in his Tesla Cybertruck after a crash, raises alarming questions about vehicle safety design. According to a wrongful death lawsuit, the Cybertruck's electrically operated doors became inoperable after power loss, with manual release latches allegedly too difficult to locate in an emergency. This shocking revelation forces us to question whether automotive innovation sometimes sacrifices essential safety features for aesthetic appeal.Switching gears to career advice, we explore three seemingly innocent phrases that could instantly disqualify you during job interviews. Mentioning your entrepreneurial ambitions signals to employers that you're already planning your exit strategy. Surprisingly, emphasizing "work-life balance" might suggest misaligned priorities to potential employers searching for passionate, committed candidates. Even honestly disclosing a previous layoff could work against you, as executives often assume top performers are reassigned rather than let go during downsizing. These counterintuitive insights might just save your next job opportunity. For movie buffs, we discuss the critical reception of "The Roses," a remake of the 1989 dark comedy starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. Despite featuring talents like Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, critics are panning it as "weak and witless." But as seasoned viewers know, critical consensus doesn't always align with audience enjoyment. She's just a girl and she's on fire She's living in a world and it's on fire. —Alicia Keys It's a slow burn summer, burn as in the wildfires ravaging communities and landscapes across Canada while 18-year-old Canadian competitive swimmer Summer McIntosh is on fire, winning multiple medals at the World Championships, and this is another mixed bag episode in mid summer on the August long weekend as we're recording it. And one of us is getting over a summer cold as we acknowledge July's Pride celebrations as the anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (35 years) arrived this summer season. This week on Outlook we're starting off sharing what brother/co-host Brian learned when he researched what exactly the August 1st holiday is here in Canada are represented by, either British Columbia Day, Terry Fox Day in Manitoba (the province he was born in), Heritage Day for one province while ours (Ontario) has municipality celebrations for places like Ottawa or Guelph. After this one, we won't be live for a few weeks with an upcoming Monday where sister/co-host Kerry has a specialist appointment at a connective tissue clinic with a rheumatologist to see if there's anything new they might be able to offer to manage her changing symptoms and Brian will be recording with his band at London's local Sugar Shack Studio. We then briefly mention the serious and controversial subject matter (content warning worthy) we've got coming up on an Outlook show planned for later in the month, current scarcity mindsets with Alberta's continuing going ahead with clawbacks for anyone there applying for the new Canadian Disability Benefit, and how that compares to the province we're in, speaking of different provinces on this August Long Weekend edition of our show. Our mixed bag of topics for this Mid Summer Mixed Bag also includes our friendly sibling competitions even when it comes to why Brian doesn't get as many colds as Kerry (even though we're both immunosuppressed as transplant patients) or why Kerry's creatinine has always remained safely below 100 while Brian's has steadily remained dozens of points above it. Speaking of clinic, with Brian's recent transplant clinic visit and dispatches from the waiting room we're considering a story from CBC about piping in calming bird song sounds into hospital and clinic waiting rooms rather than the less relaxing news television programs. Then, (speaking of content warnings) we recently viewed the first episode of Season 27 of South Park “Sermon On The Mount,” and we're discussing what we miss without audio description which led us to use a Wiki Fandom site and AI chatbot for more information, the design of the characters Kerry has seen at one time and now must imagine, and the type of satire its creators harness for trolling (passing the sensors by putting little eyes on 45/47's penis and comparing him to a certain deceased Iraqi so-called “leader” South Park featured in one of Brian's most favourite earlier season episodes. Reflecting on seeing the value of spending more time with family now that he's older, (shoutout to Nefertiti Matos Olivares for gifting our family with game Herd Mentality) making for a wonderfully entertaining and enlightening family game afternoon last month - Brian also shares about a sweet and special moment recently where our niece wanted to include him by writing her name tactilely so he could feel it, by writing it on the device we have called the BrailleDoodle (a teaching tool for educators and new braille learners). And speaking of the BrailleDoodle, we're still looking for somewhere to donate one and Kerry shares about introducing our educational assistant/braille transcriber from our school days to BF Barry and guide dog Oyster a few weeks back. BTW: If you hear this episode and know of anyone/anywhere that could use it, please do reach out by emailing us - outlookonradiowestern@gmail.com You can learn more about the Braille Doodle here: https://www.touchpadprofoundation.org Girl On Fire by Alicia Keys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J91ti_MpdHA
Today after the show, we took a few phone calls unfiltered and then Johnjay told us some stories, a little unfiltered.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
