Our Foundation of Faith

In celebration of Presidents Day, we shared the unspoken history of Abraham Linocoln. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we our guest explained how Lincoln’s faith was pivotal to shaping him into the man he became and how it guided and sustained him during one of our nation’s most violet and critical times in history. What is required to be a Christian dissident? Our guest warned us that as we see a growing acceptance of socialist and Marxist views in our nation, believers need to be prepared to stand up and fight for their guaranteed freedoms that the Founders fought to provide and preserve as part of our national heritage. Every day we are reminded that the cost of liberty is high. Part of our liberty as Americans is our right to free speech but the days of sitting back and trusting that those rights were above question or attempts to curtail are far behind us now. That is why Janet and Craig took a deep dive into a recent House Judiciary Committee hearing that addressed challenges to our right to free speech. They shared their analysis of what the lawmakers had to say about efforts to bring European style censorship to this country and why do so would be devastating to our national identity and why we must not allow the slow creep of these ideas to take away this fundamental right as Europe and other countries have, to devastating effect. We opened our phones and you flooded them once again with your questions on spiritual warfare as one of our favorite guests and highly respected expert in this area turned our hearts and minds back to God’s truth as we wrestle with the many issues surrounding the impact of the supernatural world on ours. The week is coming to an end, but our need to see and clearly understand the ideas that are being pushed on us through the media never does. That is why Janet and Craig continue to encourage you to be wise watchmen and women on the walls to protect your families by measuring those confusing and misleading ideas against the truth of God’s word.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Then, the Savannah Bananas bring Banana Ball back to Disneyland, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass sells out for seven straight days at Walt Disney World. Is Disney's most expensive skip-the-line option here to stay? HIGHLIGHTS Michael Eisner sits down with Graham Bensinger for his most in-depth Disney interview in years, sharing candid thoughts on leadership transitions, pricing, and the modern company. Eisner describes the Chapek era as “a marriage made in hell” while praising Bob Iger's succession and leadership instincts. Lightning Lane Premier Pass sells out for seven consecutive days at Magic Kingdom during Presidents Day week, with prices reaching up to $449 per person plus tax. The Savannah Bananas return to Disneyland on March 26, bringing Banana Ball energy, cavalcades, and castle-front performances to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. This week, we celebrated Presidents Day, which makes it a fitting time to recognize one of America's most underrated presidents. Herbert Hoover presided over the onset of the Great Depression and is widely viewed as the inferior predecessor to Franklin D. Roosevelt. But, as host Megan McArdle explains, that judgment is unfair to Hoover. It also reflects a larger problem: the assumption that a president can singlehandedly fix or wreck the economy.Subscribe to The Washington Post here.

The Nevada County Sheriff's Office said the avalanche was reported around 11:30 a.m. amid a heavy snowstorm that has closed both Interstate 80 and Highway 50 at the summit. The argument is being made that this is wrong as a matter of law and history: The holiday is still Washington’s birthday. It is also a symptom of a veneration of the imperial presidency that is un-republican and would have horrified the Founding Fathers. Feel like you don’t belong? Crave emotional independence? Constantly come up with original ideas? Like Frida Kahlo, Franz Kafka and Albert Einstein, you could have a distinct case of otroversion. Shirtless Shia LaBeouf arrested and charged after ‘brawling in New Orleans bar on five-day Mardi Gras bender’. Shia was removed from the bar by staff and got into a fight shortly after midnight that ended with paramedics being called, a witness told TMZ. As The Simpsons hits its 800th episode, Jim Hill takes a moment to appreciate how this once-scrappy Fox upstart became an animation institution that may never actually end. From the long-lost series finale concept where Homer and Krusty were secretly the same person to the show's upcoming theatrical sequel and Disney's long-term park plans, this week's Fine Tooning looks at how Springfield keeps evolving. Plus, box office updates, Avatar sequel math, Matt Braly's next move after Sony, and a wild Steven Spielberg phone call that changed animation history. NEWS • The Simpsons celebrates its 800th episode with “Irrational Treasure,” the 14th episode of Season 37, as the series eyes renewal through Season 40 and a second theatrical film set for September 3, 2027. • Disney+ viewers can compare Season 1's “Santa's Little Helper” to the new milestone episode to see just how dramatically the show's animation quality has evolved since 1989. • Sony Pictures Animation's Goat opens strong over Presidents Day weekend, reportedly close behind Warner Bros.' Wuthering Heights, with final box office numbers still shifting. • Zootopia 2 crosses $1.83 billion worldwide, becoming the ninth highest-grossing film of all time, though its upcoming March 3 home video release may slow its push toward $2 billion. • Avatar: Fire & Ash reaches $1.46 billion globally, profitable but well below the franchise's prior installments, raising questions about costs and expectations for Avatar 4 and 5. • Matt Braly and Rebecca Sugar's previously in-development Sony feature is shelved, but Braly launches a Kickstarter on March 13 for his indie gothic horror pilot Clara and the Below. • The RiffTrax team raises nearly $1.9 million on Kickstarter for The RiffTrax Experiments, offering a hopeful blueprint for creator-driven animation crowdfunding. FEATURE • The behind-the-scenes story of how Judy Freudberg and Tony Geiss were hired by Steven Spielberg to write The Land Before Time, following his surprise discovery of Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird. • Spielberg's now-legendary phone call to Freudberg, initially mistaken for a prank, ultimately led to a creative partnership that bridged Sesame Street and major animated feature filmmaking. KA-CHING!In Colorado, a state judge ruled that throwing prisoners in solitary confinement as a penalty for refusing to work violates the state constitution's ban on involuntary servitude. It's a start! And in Philadelphia, Judge Cynthia Rufe ordered the Trump administration to restore an exhibit on the enslaved people who lived at President's House under George Washington: “Each person who visits the President's House and does not learn of the realities of founding-era slavery receives a false account of this country's history.”MAIN SHOW:In Minnesota, Judge Nancy Brasel ordered DHS to grant detainees in “holding rooms” at the Whipple Building in Minneapolis meaningful access to counsel. The ruling bars ICE from removing immigrants from the state for 72 hours after they are originally picked up. We'll discuss the cracks appearing between DHS, which ignores court orders, and DOJ, which has to show up in court and take the blame for it.In New York, Judge Lewis Kaplan issued a similar order in September with respect to temporary “holding rooms” on the 9th floor at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, with additional requirements that DHS provide for detainees' hygiene, nutrition, and medical needs. The plaintiffs say ICE has not complied and moved for contempt. The City reports that DHS opened up new temporary detention facilities on the 10th floor, but claims the injunction doesn't apply there for, uh, REASONS.And we break down all the ways Republicans are trying to suppress the vote with the SAVE America Act, which solves the nonexistent problem of noncitizens voting illegally by imposing a series of restrictions on citizens registering and voting. In the subscriber bonus, we discuss a district court's decision in Massachusetts enjoining the Trump administration from deploying ICE in and around churches. Hour 1: Steve Cohen Lays Down the Law, NBA All-Star Surprise and Adam Silver's Tanking Crackdown

Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts

Evan admits he watched more of the NBA All-Star Game than he has in two decades and, shockingly, he kind of loved it. The early start time actually made sense, the 12-minute “all crunch-time” games kept everyone locked in, and the effort level (hello, Wemby) was way higher than expected. But the format still had flaws, especially the tired “old heads” in the final, and LeBron's comments about USA vs. the World had the guys scratching their heads. Then the conversation turns to the real post-All-Star headline: Adam Silver's growing frustration with tanking. Evan and Tiki run through some of the most creative proposals being floated, including a tournament for the No. 1 pick, playoff incentives to make players care, and even the nuclear option, abolishing the draft entirely. And on Presidents Day, the Mets take center stage too: Steve Cohen meets the media, talks expectations, admits his frustration with how long it's been since 1986, and makes one thing crystal clear, as long as he owns the team, there will be no Mets captain. Plus, the guys react to Cohen's “I feel what the fans feel” line and what it means for the current state of the franchise heading into spring training.

On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (02/16/26), Hank reflects on the words of one of the great presidents of the United States of America, George Washington. Every February we celebrate Presidents Day, a holiday that originated as Washington's Birthday in 1885. Hank seeks to answer the question, “Why celebrate Presidents Day today—nearly 300 years after Washington's birth on February 22, 1732?” There are some obvious reasons. Washington was, of course, our first president. He served as commander-in-chief of colonial armies during the American Revolution. He set the standard for all presidents that would follow in his train. He was a man of great personal integrity. He famously established the maxim that liberty is greater than any singular individual. And, Hank's favorite reason for celebrating this holiday, he is eminently quotable. “It is better to live alone than in bad company.” “Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.” “All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual, and physical education I received from her.” These quotes from George Washington show that he was a president who knew the Bible, as they all echo what is taught in Holy Scripture.
