the gay poly bfs he told u not to worry about
this is a pre-recorded show that will be broadcast on Clyde Built Radio (glasgow) on the 5th of March ~ track list here: 1. "///" by shannen moser (2014) ~ philly, usa i've been a fan of shannen moser basically since "all dogs go to heaven" came out, and it soundtracked my own venturing into lofi pop songwriting, as a musician but also as a listener. it's amazing to see how far they've progressed as a songwriter however this and "you shouldn't be doing that" will always be nostalgic go-tos for me, particularly for the how emotionally haunting the production is, despite being so rough sonically. really taught me that lofi recordings could bring their own magic that hifi stuff just couldn't replicate ~ 2. "river dream" by pudding club (2022) ~ new york, usa discovered "songs before bed" during a youtube hole a few months back and fell for the simple but lush instrumentation, a really hypnotic addition to the emerging neo-lofi/leftfield canon. know v little about the artist who made it but as ever i marvel at the beautiful work that exists on the plain of the internet and the stuff that is still continuing to be made by just people making stuff, real special thing. 3. "reeling" by sean armstrong (2023)~ berlin, germany/glasgow, scotland a recent demo by stalwart of the '10s glasgow scene sean armstrong (spinning coin/the sean armstrong experience), now living in berlin with partner/collaborator rocky lorelei (spinning coin/hairband). a continuation of similar demo work of recent months, this is a subtly sweet love ballad with bright melodic passages so rich that i can even hear the warm accompanying walkin' bass and simple rhythmic drums as of yet to be included. will likely edit and continue descriptions another time, must get up and go to work!!!!! 4. "guitar with talking" by interesting (2022) ~ georgia, usa 5. "lazy brain" by euros childs (2016) ~ cardiff, wales 6. "nene valley overture" by let's go (2023) ~ glasgow, scotland 7. "unconditional love" by "powersource" jason zelda (2020) ~ tennessee, usa i can never either get time or know if it's worth doing patter in-between. the shows end up being only an hour long and i tend to have to cobble them together last minute due to scheduling issues so sometimes it doesn't always feel entirely "real", just a mix i made etc. but i'd like to be more structured w/it, certainly for the podcast feed. unlimited hangout kinda dissolved due to differences in what kinda content to put out but neither me (eliot), jordan or liam have seemingly managed to put anything together in post but i have the soundcloud feed so, here we are. hope you enjoy this slightly snoozy playlist ~

In this emergency addition of the pod. We talk about the recent troubles Trump has had with the FBI and possibly selling nuclear weapons to bad people. We also talk about the intense cognitive dissonance of the MAGA community, our fears of domestic terrorism on the rise and compare everything to Metal Gear more than once.
this time around we have a little chin-wag about one of the worst movies ever made: Battfield Earth - it's bizarre prose, it's excessive use of the dutch angle and the underpinning of Scientology undergirding the whole project that apparently really wasn't that big of a deal honest. oh also, LRH organised a soundtrack made, but for the book the film is based on ? kinda sounds like a Space Quest soundtrack, which isn't strictly a bad thing
too much happened, frankly. even between recording this and editing it Boris Johnson resigned, Shinzo Abe got merked and Sri Lanka is basically deposing its prime minister and president so who can even keep up. this ep we discuss roe v. wade and the theocratic tyranny of that, the tattered legacy of 20th century communism and someone somewhere mentioned pizzagate & so did we for some reason.
Considering the awful state of the world. Jordan and special guest Snel discuss Oliver Stone's utterly insane 1991 film 'JFK'. While also getting into The X-Files, make on calls for legal drug smuggling and the downfall of the American Mafia's ability to be taken seriously.
this time around we do our usual of talking about everything but the point we were originally thinking of discussing which was supply chain shortage and the meat industry in general but more generally we talk: politicians, bad actually.
the threesome is back and boy is it inflated. we chat very open-endedly about movie whatevers, current political whatevers and other whatevers. i can't quite remember really, i was drunk, am drumf and will forever be drumnke.........
we chat lé election and the guff around it song use: 1. "Repetition" by Spread Joy 2. "Fuck You, I'm The King of France" by Cutting Pink With Knives
back on our chatty bs. an og two-piece affair this time, discussing the ongoing misshapen form of the shape of things - staring, jokerfied, into void as it continues to kick us all in the proverbial nuts. culture's dead, progress is dead, the future is the past. we're stuck in the end of history. opening song: 'you are the worst' by big soda closing song: 'never ending quest' by john hinkley
Now that Oscar season is over, Jordan and Liam take the time to talk about part one of Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's epic sci-fi novel 'Dune'. During that we also briefly get into the David Lynch film, Herbert's absolutely abhorrent political beliefs and get into how genuinely incomprehensible the source material is.
while everyone's hand-wringing and talkin' all "oh ukraine this" and "putin that" we attempt to delve into the schism that lead to the modern context for Russia and the post-soviet blocs, including Ukraine. shit complicated, and we don't even mention NATO once.
Another day, another movie pod. All three of us come together to talk about Ben Shapiro's school shooter film 'Run Hide Fight'. But we also get into the awful people behind the film, Shapiro's grand delusions of becoming the next Orson Welles and very briefly talk about the situation in Ukraine.
we back, in our first all 3 of us non-movie related pod. this time around our new permi host Liam fills us in on Canadian goings on, what with that whole boarder thing and also they apparently have a new queen ? mad 'eds. we also discuss Ukraine V Russia nonsense and how Biden is actually just boring now.
In today's episode we're joined by friend of the pod and Who head John to talk all things Doctor Who, we discuss tinpot Nazis, Maoist Jon Pertwee, Thatcher in drag and Welsh icon Russel T Davies stuffing Tony Blair in a cupboard.
2/3 boys are back, talkin' about Tory cope tactics as they sink in the poles due to their own party lust, plus a gentle prince getting his royale nuts removed. music cred: "face the meat" by lumpy and the dumpers "when will my prince come" by m. davis "pro-dxsney" by dad rocks
so, that happened. into the new year and we sort of review the new Matrix movie whilst also taking an overview of the series as a whole and its place in pop culture. we're also a threesome this time, welcome to our polyqule Liam, our new official co-co-co-host.
let's go Ghislaine end of the year, but we had a lot a laughs, met some friends along the way, 5.5 million people died from a viral pandemic and the new Dune came out. meet the new year, same as the old year.
celebrate the tidings with some discussion of gay vore content and how Q shit will never end
this time around the discussion turns to the movies 'Malcolm X(1992)' by Spike Lee and 'Judas & The Black Messiah (2021)' by Shaka King and how they compare/contrast in their individual portrayals of famed Black civil rights leaders in the 60s who were systematically neutralised by the FBI.
we back, goin' over the terribly loud empty racket of COP26 in Glasgow over the start of the month, the greenwash industry, Jacob Rees-Mogg as a baby Tory, the death of the guy from SomethingAwful.com, and also Milo goin' pure.
yr boys return, talkin' colon powell (rip), the greenwash of COP26 and queenie quietly being wheeled off into the incinerator, off-screen
ye olde Liam Pendergast is back to discuss the Blatty Exorcist movie, "Legion"(ie. the Exorcist 3 (1990)).
this ep is another of MaoLover1949's movie chattos, this time about the film 'Mishima: A Life In Four Chapters (1985)' by Paul Schrader with the triumphant return of Canada's own Liam Pendergaust.
so, yr gays are back, talkin' about the failed liberal prospect as we sit on this precipice between neoliberal hangover and the CRACK that'll change it all.
so, we go over the debris left by the legacy of 9/11, as well as dipping into how the mirage of neoliberal "adult"ism and "sensible"ism continues to be exposed as an optics game rigged from the start. happy anni!
a somewhat spin-off / yung boy going off on his own, but not without company. maolover1949 exploring his movie-curious side with a lil help from friend n film maker Liam Pendergast. they talk the CronenburgXJames Woods (redacted) movie "VIDEODROME (1983)" and the general body horror saga in 70s/80s cinema.
we bite into the supple meat of the current situation belighting Afghanistan ~ yes, freedom from neoliberal terrorism!...into a new kind of neoliberal terrorism, the new modern and soft-masc Taliban. it goes without saying that it didn't matter who won, the Afghanis lost. feat. afghan commie bangers.
ye gays r back ! living in white hot scottish summer ~ this time we on our catty shit, (generally/anon) namin' n shamin' cons who both love free market exploitation but yet cannot handle winding their entitled necks back in when asked to respect other people's general well-being.
a new sort of side hustle as maolover1949 is indulged in his conspiracy fascination. this EP we start small n tackle the dated / past it cult behind Q-Anon. sad!
we discuss the self-centring quagmire on the english left, the pitiful dominance of labour party in UK politics and how both it and the UK project as a whole is going down liking a sinking ship, smiling/waving as it goes.
we decided to open the podcast with an reggae version of the theme from Batman Forever bc frankly the R Kelly theme from B&R is god awful. special movie ep, feat. Scott McGoldrick (@pukingglitter on twitch) as we discuss the ample 1997 camp Joel Schumacher classic 'Batman & Robin' ~ we discuss the nips, the puns, the place it sits in the Batman cannon & how utterly baffelling it is that this film exists in the form that it does in the first place. coming up, a hot EP about the Batley & Spen by-election in England on Thus and how Starmer will eat shit and will likely have to resign *chef'd kiss*. watch out for that.
impromptu ep - we discuss the neoliberal legacy of the 80s, the hysteria around cancelling, kevin smith's terrible modern career, joel schumacher era batman and how apparently daniel day lewis almost played him.
