Who says that being in different cities means two friends can't watch movies together? Thanks to the beauty of modern technology, Zach and Emily get together once a week and watch a movie, sometimes good, sometimes not so much. But regardless of the movie's quality, this friendship's quality is top-notch.

Ignore the quality of the audio, because the quality of this episode makes up for it! In a perfect blockbuster double feature, the gang watched both of the National Treasure flicks. Plenty of chaos ensues, from the structural integrity of ancient paper, to discussing a real life quest for the Holy Grail, to pitching the next branch of the Madea franchise.
In a turn toward child-like magic, Emily chose Tangled for this week. The gang discusses unreliable nose narration, pitches the next Taylor Swift rerecorded album, and ends the podcast immediately before the only notable Oscars moment.
Newsflash- Zach loves baseball. And he picked a heavy movie to celebrate it. But while there are good conversations to be had, there's also plenty of time for expanding the cinematic Spider-Verse, foreshadowing future Fast and Furious episodes, and establishing a road to getting uncancelled.
We're having just the best time right now. We hand out some excellent workout advice, talk about the purest evil in all of fiction, sports movie villains, and debate the fine minutiae of what is in fact allowed on a first date.
Easter's over, but we're still in the spirit, and to celebrate, Zach chose a talking animal "masterpiece", Peter Rabbit. Unfortunately, we have to check in on the status of animal nudity, try to explain the existence of James Corden, and imagine a nightmare at the botanical gardens.
It's girlboss week on WDWJW, and the pals are watching Birds of Prey, and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. They use the opportunity to discuss the enjoyability of world news, movies that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in, and all the red flags that DC Comics have to offer.
Zach took us back into a true cinematic classic this week with Raiders of the Lost Ark. Logically, the pals ended up reminiscing about SCUBA video games, creating new fan-fiction pining for Harrison Ford, and pondering submarine hitchhike logistics.
Emily felt we hadn't experienced enough pain lately, so she chose Strange Magic for our enjoyment. And so, complaining about Avatar abounds, as does pining for The Conjuring the Musical, begging for a non-racist moral, and battling Kristin Chenoweth demons.
We've gone to space! It's Zach's turn to pick an obscure favorite, and that led to the worst poetry in the galaxy, chastising John Mayer for poor social media performance, and Zach accidentally recommending some light incest.
In a soothing turn, the gang watched the positively delightful Fantastic Mr. Fox. The duo goes on a relaxing trip into banning all movie cuss words, gets romantic about escape rooms, and find their way into deconstructionist meme talk.
This week the gang set sail on the high seas with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. There are many shanties sung about what can be names, curse logistics, and sexual tension-cutting dads.
It's time for some prestige at WDWJW, and the gang watched Jojo Rabbit. In this short conversation, the gang managed to improve every movie from here to the end of time, get flagged by the FBI, and cast a lot of Hitlers.
It's Zach's birthday, which means this week's movie is three hours long and filled with swords and monsters. The pals complain about bird politics, propose a new dragon-centric American holiday, and imagine a rich world of alternate casting choices.
The gang took a trip into their own past and watched The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. We're getting serious this week, dealing with Santa logistics, Zach puts in perspective exactly how insane 4th graders are, and Zach reminds everyone that Scott Bakula exists.
It's time to ride again, with Zach dragging everyone back to the high-octane thrills of 2 Fast 2 Furious. Check out cars going vroom, everything being Orwellian, and an indictment of the Fast and Furious franchise as a makeout background.
In a peaceful change of pace, the pals watch the Studio Ghibli masterpiece Spirited Away. Join them on the other side of the spirit bridge for a chill hang, a discussion of how yummy movie food looks, and lots of surprising celebrity voice performances.
This week, the gang watched Casino Royale and discussed Daniel Craig's literal washboard abs, tried to explain where any Bond villains are from, and pitched the best possible cast for the next James Bond.
Happy New Year! The gang started 2021 by looking back at one of Emily's childhood favorites, Twilight. Watching a bad movie continues to bring out the best in this team, and this week was no exception! With a rapid fire fill-in-the-blank game, Zach proving that prom is never like this, and Emily being especially honest about her youth.
In the final episode of the year, our own Holmes and Watson watched Rian Johnson's masterpiece, Knives Out. The pals gush about that most famous of sweaters, catalogue some of Emily's noises, and pitch Knives Out with Muppets.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from WDWJW! For our official holiday episode, the holly jolly pals watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas, discussed horny Dr. Seuss characters, Emily's greatest theatrical achievement, and universes within universes.
It's love at Christmastime this week, with the gang watching Love Actually. Please enjoy Zach naming as many movies as he possibly can, the gang wondering about what tragedies befall these characters later, and falling madly in love with Keira Knightley.
Emily went power-mad on her birthday, and not only had us watch a musical, but also brought along our first guest! Along with friend of the show Matthew Briggs, this trio decides who should hold the title of Musical Theatre Simp, Zach drops as many hip hop references as possible, and the hosts officially canonize their rules that get a movie banned from Date Night Approval.
This week the gang watched a true boy movie, White House Down. Zach talked a lot about Die Hard, Emily bombed the worst joke in the history of this podcast, and they both entreated many an actor to NOT kiss James Woods.
It's the beginning of a new era on the show, and that is the Star Wars era. It's one of the worst movies of one of the biggest franchises ever, and it sends us to John Williams's best club banger, making George Lucas answer for his crimes, and the poetic beauty of Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley.
It's been too long, so the gang watched a bad movie this week, and that means BAD. Eurovision Song Contest leads our pals down a path to spacial comedy, endorsement of this movie's registered himbo, and arguments over whether or not this should be a musical.
This week, the gang gets existential with The Truman Show. The pals talk about Jim Carrey's magnificent dumper, try to come up with movie themed diners, and truly eviscerate the logistics of a Truman Show.
The horror movies are behind us, and we've hard shifted into family fun with 2001's Shrek! The gang spends a good long while trying to avoid referencing 2010's meme culture, muses about fairytale biology, and pitches possible tattoos inspired by film.
It's the final week of the Most Spookiest Time of the Year, and the gang is finally getting around to Stephen King with The Shining. Check out title card complaints, some conspiracy theory talk, and the logistics of children on a horror set. Also, GO VOTE!
It's still the Most Spookiest Time of the Year, and in the penultimate episode of our series, our dream warriors checked out the slasher classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Check out reminiscings on inappropriate children's performances, guessing which fictional murders could be committed by bears, and being abuzz about the possibility of A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Musical.
Welcome to the first ever WDWJW Double Feature! Due to a slight clerical error, we're giving you double the movies in a super-sized episode! Please enjoy a bit of humor at Emily's expense, a whole lot of pitches for Red Bull ads, and a deep analysis of backwards boobs. Also PLEASE make this show a TikTok sound.
It's the Most Spookiest Time of the Year! This week, our drugged-up sacrifices dive deep on one of Zach's personal favorites, The Cabin in the Woods. Enjoy musings on sacrificial logistics, Emily accidentally dipping a toe into moral determinism, and trying to choose a monster to identify with.
Welcome, one and all, to the Most Spookiest Time of the Year! In our first ever podcast series, we open with The Blair Witch Project. Our personal documentary crew discusses the advantages of giving a gentle kiss to a witch's ritual stones, analyzes which obscure Muppets would be best in this movie, and pitches better horror movies for a first date.
This week our heroes dive back into the DC Universe, but on a much more positive note, with Wonder Woman. The pals talk for a good long while about GIRL POWER, criticize an innocent actor's mustache, and examine the logistics of concealing a sword in a stolen dress. Also, stay tuned for a big announcement about the first What Did We Just Watch series, Five Weeks of Halloween!
This week, our hosting pantheon discusses Disney's Hercules, and tackles teetering on the edge of Danny DeVito, gives some examples of too intense first date movies, and discusses a few of Hollywood's best names.
This week the dynamic duo tackles a tall order, sitting through all two hours of Batman and Robin. The gang discusses nipples entirely too much, attempts Arnold Schwarzenegger impressions, and discuss the possibility of a Batman-themed pro wrestling spectacular of all Batman characters.
The gang dives into the world of serial killers and teen heartthrobs this week and watch Zac Efron's Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. The pals discuss the unending charm of Troy Bolton, inappropriate places for a catchphrase, and how quickly they would be able to escape from a date that wanted to watch this movie.
