Rachel's youngest crashes the pod on Bring Your Child to Work Day, and the nine-year-old wastes zero time fact-checking adults, interrupting tangents, and quietly stealing the episode. The trio covers Justin Bieber's Coachella laptop loophole, why he couldn't legally sing his own songs live, and whether Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter's collab was genius or just a little too forced. From there it's a full sweep of the cultural moment: Miss Thailand breaking from pageant choreography to pop and lock in a bikini, the fake-or-real beef between Alex Earle and Alex Cooper, Dr. Miami's former social media manager finally spilling why she left, and the red light camera ticket Dale got for a license plate that hadn't been on his car in six months. Dale also finally caved and got Hulu just to watch Sky King, while Rachel cannot quit Love After Lockup, and Summer House gets a full breakdown that may have just recruited a new viewer. The episode closes with a confession that has apparently been weighing on someone for a while — they genuinely cannot tell Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman apart — and Sienna's shoutout list, which included approximately every child at her dance studio.Episode Sponsor:Presented by 1-800 Call Lee — South Florida's trusted personal injury team. Max Halley joins The Go To from Max's Sandwich Shop in Finsbury Park — a place he describes as “a surprisingly serious restaurant masquerading as a silly sandwich shop.” From the ham, egg and chips sandwich Tesco tried to copy, to focaccia engineered for mayonnaise, juice and structural integrity, Max explains the thinking behind one of Britain's most joyful food institutions. In this episode, Max talks about his new book Cooking with Sausages, built on the revelation that sausages are really just pre-seasoned mince waiting to be liberated. He serves up a Morteau sausage, explains why he boils rather than grills, and takes us through sausage lasagne, Le Pig Mac, mortadella cheeseburgers, porchetta tacos and hangover macaroni designed to be eaten with a spoon. We also hear how Max nearly made a TV show called Chicken Lips and Salmon Legs before losing out to Taskmaster, why his first sandwich shop idea was called “Out Here on the Dance Floor,” and how an awkward licensing dispute became one of his greatest restaurant moments: a customer told to “get up and fuck off” to a round of applause. There are stories from Le Coq, Keira Knightley's alleged praise, Raymond Blanc being angry about missing tarragon, electric toothbrushes for sale outside Finsbury Park Tesco, cold lasagne in a croissant with honey, and a childhood memory of eating sheep on a spit in a French village. Expect sausage philosophy, sandwich engineering, strong opinions on cheese, and plenty of Max's “little pleasant splashes” of joy.Pre-Order Max's "Cooking With Sausages" Book Here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooking-Sausages-Delicious-Everything-Chipolatas/dp/0241794692Watch and Subscribe To Our Youtube Videos Here - https://www.youtube.com/@gotofoodOrder Ben's Incredible Book - All You Can Eat - By Clicking Here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/All-You-Can-Eat-British/dp/1805221523Get 2 Months of Blinq For Free - With Code - GOTOBLINQ - https://blinqme.com/Order The Greatest Meat In The Country From HG Walter Here & Have Restaurant Quality Meals From Home - www.hgwalter.com Hosted on Acast. Welcome to PTBN Pop's Movie Review of The Day! Every weekday we will be reviewing a movie whether it be currently in theaters, featured on streaming or just a film that we hold near and dear to us. With the new film “Project Hail Mary” coming out on March 20th, we are featuring other movies where the Earth is being threatened. On today's episode, Andy Atherton is reviewing “Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World” from 2012 starring Steve Carell, Keira Knightley, Connie Britton, Adam Brody & Martin Sheen.
Dan Abrams joins for a fun conversation. Adam and him start by discussing the differences between the show cops and his show. Dan talks about how by viewing the entire experience people can start to empathize with the police more. They talk about Dan's restaurant in NYC and analyze street food vendors as well. Finally they talk about how tough it is to come out as a conservative in Hollywood and Dan closes by recalling a time Keira Knightley forgot his name. GET IT ON! This week on International Feature, we took a trip back to one of the most talked-about holiday rom-coms of all time: Love Actually. Often held up as a seasonal classic, the film has remained a staple of Christmas viewing for years — but for us, revisiting it raised a lot more questions than warm fuzzy feelings. We dug into why the movie's reputation doesn't match our experience, and how some of its most celebrated moments have aged… poorly.• Only really connecting with one or two of the relationship dynamics presented • Our genuine disbelief that this is considered a romantic comedy “classic” • The blatant fatphobia and the way several characters are mistreated for laughs • The uncomfortable and inappropriate dynamic between Keira Knightley and Andrew Lincoln's character • Too many characters, too little depth, and barely enough time spent with any storyline • The randomness of certain casting choices — and how Martin Freeman ends up in movies like this • Why ensemble rom-coms just don't work for us when the emotional payoff isn't thereA holiday staple for some… but for us, this was more frustrating than festiveLetterbox'd Synopsis: Eight very different couples deal with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London.
February is here and romance is in the air. With Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights on the horizon, we're jumping back in time to watch some classic period romance films! Joined by new friend of the show Shelby Nunn, our hosts take a look at Joe Wright's debut film that garnered Keira Knightley here first Oscar nomination. We talk hand flexes, awkward cousins, sensual romance, and everything you would expect from this beloved adaptation of Jane Austen's most famous novel. What's your favorite Austen adaptation?
Huge news!! Dane has been unbanned from Hinge… lock up your sons! Daniel has been steaming his Christmas pudding, listening to Dido, and gawking at hot men in winter shorts. The infernal aunties take a cheeky peek at Grindr Unwrapped and tackle the question: “Could you date someone you think is hot but everyone else thinks is ugly?” Keira Knightley and “Mascfishing” are thrown into the fires of hell. It's beginning to taste a lot like Christmas. For this year's festive special, Nick and Angela are joined around the tree by Keira Knightley for a turkey feast and plenty of bubbles. Keira Knightley is an English actress who lives in North London with her two daughters and husband, James Righton. She is known for an array of brilliant roles in films such as Pride & Prejudice, The Imitation Game, Atonement and the TV series Black Doves. And, at this time of year, it would be remiss not to mention her role in the Christmas staple Love Actually, a film she's watched just once. She joins us following her latest lead role... opposite Joe Wilkinson in the Waitrose Christmas advert. We've heard his side of the story, but how does Keira reflect on the day they filmed ‘the big kiss'? Angela delivers dish after dish in this episode, with a fennel & citrus roast turkey as the table's centrepiece. It's served with her own (and famous) turkey gravy, roast potatoes with rosemary salt, stir fried sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta and a roast parsnip & grape salad with hazelnuts, chicory and parmesan dressing, which might just steal the show. Glasses are filled with No.1 Brut Special Reserve Vintage Champagne on arrival and the meal is paired by the Waitrose wine experts with a glass of De Loach OFS California Chardonnay. Enjoy! And let us know if you try and recreate any of the dishes at home. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from Nick, Angela and all the Dish team! On this special bonus episode in honor of Jane Austen's 250th birthday, 'Talk of Iowa' host Charity Nebbe and producer Dani Gehr settle a debate they've been having for years: Which adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice' is best? Nebbe makes her case for the longer and more by the book 1995 BBC miniseries, while Gehr advocates for the iconic moments in the more modern 2005 film with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. You can see the two debate in Regency-era outfits on IPR's Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts.
This week on The Way They Were, we do the unthinkable: we go back to Love Actually. Gráinne and Chantal rank the couples from least offensive to “maybe we should call the police”, asking the big questions Richard Curtis never did. Who do we hate the most? Are half these characters quietly unhinged? What exactly is going on with Keira Knightley's extremely youthful bride? And is the secretary secretly a feminist icon? (No.)Along the way we interrogate Christmas number ones, language barriers, workplace power dynamics, and why we will always, always cry during that Emma Thompson scene. The full episode is available now on our Patreon: patreon.com/TheWayTheyWere You can also access our exclusive bonus episodes every other week and take part in The Gossip our exclusive Patreon group chat! Has Angela met her match in the ultimate bolognese battle? Joe Wilkinson is an English comedian, actor, podcaster, screenwriter and star of the new Waitrose Christmas advert. Joe first came to prominence in the BBC Three show Him & Her before further acting roles in Derek, Miranda and After Life. He has also brought his impeccable comedy timing to shows including Russell Howard's Good News, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Last One Laughing and Taskmaster as well as proving ever-faithful on this year's Celebrity Traitors. He also hosts an almost-daily podcast called Chatabix with his long-term writing partner, David Earl. Joe's favourite food is his own bolognese, which leads to a forensic breakdown of his process and the chance for Angela to impress with the best bolognese. Does it cut it with Joe? What about Marmite? How liberal should you be with the Italian mixed herbs? All these questions are answered alongside a glass of Zeno Alcohol-Liberated Red for Joe and a wine pairing of Villa Antinori for Nick and Angela. We start the show with a Fever-Tree Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritz. We loved Joe's list of food likes and dislikes, and need to thank his wife Petra for supplying all the extra details, including his fondness for slow-roasted meat and dedication to planning the perfect takeaway. We also get to hear all about his turn as a leading man in the Waitrose Christmas ad opposite Keira Knightley, including how he diffused any tension on the day of their kiss… You can watch full episodes of Dish on YouTube and, new for this season, on Spotify. Call it what you like — sleep deprivation/sleep recession/The Exhaustion Economy —but when you're not getting enough sleep as a parent, it's sheer torture. And when actor Keira Knightley named it for the hell it is, every parent felt it in their (tired) bones. This week, we’re unpacking the long-haul burnout that comes with parenting — and the societal shrug that keeps it invisible. Meanwhile, if you think your parenting Group Chats are delivering chaos, you're not alone. Amelia (ever the secret Nicole) has three golden rules to survive them, while Monz is rolling out the five parent archetypes you’ll absolutely recognise.

It only took about 24 hours after Hamas's Oct. 7, 2023 terrorist attack on Israel for cries of “free Palestine” to fill city streets as protesters waved the Palestinian flag. However, following the ceasefire and hostage deal which the Trump administration led the way in negotiating, those same protesters are noticeably quiet. The absence of great celebration on the part of the “free Palestine” protesters confirms what many already knew - the pro-Palestine movement has always been more deeply rooted in a hatred of Israel than a love for the people of Gaza. Now more than ever, the “Free Palestine” chanters should be taking to the streets to demand Hamas be completely eliminated as the terrorist group carries out public executions of local citizens in Gaza following the partial withdrawal of the Israeli military. On this week's edition of “Problematic Women,” we discuss the historic nature of the deal that ended the fighting between Israel and Hamas, and celebrate the return of all the living hostages. Also on today's show, Erika Kirk was at the White House this week to receive the Medal of Freedom on behalf of her husband Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September. We also break down a Young Republicans group chat leak, and the Left's hypocritical reaction. Plus, we bring you the latest pop culture news, including Keira Knightley's recent comments on transgenderism. Enjoy the show! Story 1: Do Americans take Western values for granted? If support for New York City Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is any indicator, then the answer is a clear yes. Will reacts to a recent clip of Mamdani defending the wording of his intention to raise taxes on “richer and whiter neighborhoods,” (yes, that's the exact wording) before explaining how the enormity of Western culture might make it difficult for younger Americans to realize just how good they have it. Story 2: Will is joined by the Founder of XX-XY Athletics, Jennifer Sey to discuss the sharp drop in non-traditional gender identification among students and why this appears to be the case. Will and Jennifer then react to a clip of California Gubernatorial Candidate Betty Yee expressing support for allowing biological males in the female category when the Olympics comes to L.A., as well as Keira Knightley facing backlash over her defense of author J.K. Rowling. Story 3: Politics Editor for The Daily Signal, Bradley Devlin helps Will analyze the growing cottage industry of liberal podcast hosts, like Bill Maher, developing a ‘strange new respect' for President Donald Trump, before sharing his outlook on the 2026 midterm elections as the Supreme Court begins reconsidering Section Two of the Voting Rights Act. Keira Knightley is the first one to say her new film The Woman in Cabin 10 (Netflix) is “rather tense.” That said, “part of the joy of making something that's sort of so tense and twisted and strange is when you're working with really lovely people, you can also have a bit of a giggle,” Knightley told Newsweek's H. Alan Scott. Knightley plays Laura Blacklock, a journalist on an assignment on a super yacht with billionaires who don't believe her when she stumbles on a gruesome secret. She says the film is “definitely playing with the idea of like, women are not believed,” but that gave her the opportunity to do something she's never done before. “Love being the hero, as well. It was very exciting.” In fact, she joked about telling a fellow actor, “'I don't care that you can run that fast. You don't get to catch me because I'm the hero, OK?'” [laughs] Looking back at her career, while she doesn't have the nostalgic relationship with her films that many fans have, she does look back on quite a few fondly, particularly Bend It Like Beckham. “There is still not another film about women's soccer. And it did have a place in that cultural landscape. And I think it did help to tell girls that it was okay to like soccer and play soccer.” Subscribe to my newsletter: https://www.newsweek.com/newsletter/the-culture/ Follow me: https://linktr.ee/halanscott Subscribe to Newsweek's YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/newsweek See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
