Weekly teaching from Pastor Bert Jones at Woodburn Missionary Church, Woodburn, Indiana
The Way to Damascus (Acts 9:1-9) 7/10/2022 - Pastor Steve Webster by WMC
Philip's example encourages us to keep in step with the Spirit and be ready with an answer for those who ask about Jesus.
The early church was categorized by remarkable inclusion and by honest, direct assessment of those who were a part of the community.
In the wake of Stephen's murder, the church is scattered from Jerusalem. Pastor Mike Lyon speaks to what our response ought to be to our scattering.
Part 2 of our study of Stephen's sermon about Jesus Christ.
This Sunday is the first of two weeks featuring Stephen's sermon about Jesus Christ
The grace and power of God are available to us at all times. We should strive to always be ready to serve Him.
We are not loved by the Father because of what we do for Him, we are love by Him because of who we are and who He is.
God's estimate of us matters the most.
We are responsible for our obedience; God is responsible for the outcomes.
Lying to God is met with very serious consequences. Nothing and no one is hidden from His sight. The "fear of the Lord" as described in the Scriptures should lead us to rejoice in His faithfulness and goodness.
God's people should be marked by generosity and graciousness.
God can and will use anyone to accomplish His purposes in the world.
"...there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Jesus, our Prophet, Priest and King, is the only way to experience abundant life and escape divine judgment.
The name of Jesus is the name above every name. Despite our waywardness and denial, His healing and forgiveness is available to all who call upon Him
Our ordinary obedience may put us in position to experience something extraordinary.
The early church was devoted to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread and to prayer. We ought to follow their example.
From the earliest moments of the church those who followed Jesus spoke with confidence about the resurrection. We can share in that confidence.
The pouring out of the Spirit at Pentecost ushers in a new era in which salvation is available to all who call on Jesus' name.
The arrival of the Spirit at Pentecost signals the beginning of a new era in which all people who call Jesus "Lord" are welcomed into God's family.
Today at WMC we talk about the importance of unity, prayer, confidence in the Scriptures and the resurrection of Jesus in both the 1st and 21st Century church.
We continue this morning with a look at the Ascension of Christ in Acts 1:6-11. The disciples received standing orders from the angels who described His departure. What does this have to do with us?
Today we begin a series in the Book of Acts called "The Way". What was the world of the earliest church like? What does their experience have to do with ours? Join us as we begin this great adventure together!
