As we kick off our first Sunday at Eastside we continue in our Uniquely Jesus series. This week we study the story of Peter walking on water. Peter, though having enough faith to get out of the boat and walk on water, didn't have enough faith to keep him there! What does it look like to truly have faith in Jesus, and how does this prepare us for the storms and trials in our lives? Join us as we continue to fix our eyes on Jesus together.
Why do we doubt, O we of little faith? Even the disciples had doubts, so it's not unusual that we might, too. God's Grace and Your Faith Keep You Safe - Peter Walks on Water
In Family Worship this week, we head to Matthew 14:22-33. Peter and the rest of the disciples were out on the Sea of Galilee when they noticed a figure walking on the water's surface. When they finally realize that the figure is Jesus, Peter called out and asked Jesus to invite Him onto the water. However, only when Peter focused on Jesus is he able to stay afloat. Bottom Line: Stay focused on Jesus.

Simon Peter was brave enough to get out of the boat and walk on water with Jesus during a storm! When he took his eyes off of Jesus he sank. This incredible event in Simon Peter's life shows us that we can count on God's faithfulness even when we are unfaithful.
Taking a look at Jesus walking on water and Peter going out to meet Him while having his faith tested. Matthew 14:22-33 Main points of emphasis: • Jesus was there the whole time, only Peter's focus changed • The fearful distractions do just that - distract • Thinking about what could happen makes you forget about what is happening • Moments of faithlessness happen to the strongest • It's not just crazy that Peter was scared - have you ever walked on water in the middle of a storm? 07/16/2017 - Sunday Morning Message at Pinheads Family Entertainment Center in Fishers, IN
Today I wanted to discuss what I see as the biggest hurdle to change: me (or you). We tend to doubt our ability to change for many reasons. Doubt can be destructive and we have to face it and not just dismiss it. What have you done with your doubts in the past? Have you allowed them to conquer you? The Peter walking on water is in Matthew 14:22-33, if you would like to read the whole story. The music on the podcast is from John Nugent. John is a Chicagoland area musician who has been a real blessing to Tabor Church. Support the show (http://taborchicago.org/give/)

Sermon from Bro Mike Malone OPA at Church of the Holy Cross in Poplar Bluff Mo.
In Matthew 14:22-33 we examine Peter's famous scene of walking on water as Jesus calls him out. What begins with faith ends in fear. But what is the lesson within this narrative?
Peter Walks on Water - Pastor Bert Jones by WMC
Matthew 14:22-33
Is something holding you back from your destiny in Christ? Pastor Tim Martin shares about letting go of the things that hinder us from walking in the calling of God for our lives. The phrase “burn the ships” means to do something that makes it impossible for you to change your plans and go back to the situation you were in before. Pastor Tim gives practical encouragement to step out of the things that are holding us back. God invites you to move forward. Are you all in? God wants full custody, not weekend visitations. What ships do you need to burn?
Pastor Johnny continues our series UNRAVELED. Sometimes the unraveling in our lives is much needed. Sometimes God works in us to unravel false narratives about who we are and what we're capable of.
