Happy olympics! As you may have guessed, in this special episode we're talking everything olympics! Starting with none other than the legendary gymnast herself, Simone Biles, and her decision to take care of her self (we're so proud of you!). Then we brought up the heavy topic of how the committee allowed an alleged sex offender, Alen Hadzic, to compete in this year's Olympics. Seriously? As it turns out, the journey of women I'm the Olympics had never been easy from the beginning. Also, we talked about the Norwegian beach handball team's bravery in standing up for women's rights despite the fines. Ending it on a flip trick, skateboarding made it to the Olympics and it is an absolute joy to watch! The Summer 2020 Olympics are out of control. Michelle and Sam talk about Simone Biles, her decision to withdraw, and the twisties. Michelle gets mad about the disparity between the actions taken against Sha'Carri Richardson vs. Alen Hadzic. The ladies revisit their pre-teen years and the shoplifting phenomena that plagued their friends and classmates (& themselves).
Emily Cissell returns to discuss the Olympics controversy surrounding Alen Hadzic, Loki season 1 and provide a sideline report from Space Jam: A New Legacy! Warning: This episode discusses various sexual assault, harassment, and other crimes of this nature. While I don't discuss these in graphic depth, I still do discuss certain situations. Over the past couple months, there have been several instances of famous and notable individuals who are either accused of sexual crimes or have updates related to previous accusations or cases. I discuss several individuals, including the hirings of Chauncey Billups and Jason Kidd, Bill Cosby's release from prison, Drake Bell's trial, and accusations against Diplo. With several instances of this, I fear that we are taking a step back in the Me Too movement. Note: This episode was recorded on July 18th, so it does not account for the suspension Starlin Castro received (30 games), DeShaun Watson reporting to training camp, or US Men's Fencing alternate Alen Hadzic being allowed to attend the while being accused of sexual assault. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/matthew-kirby/support
The Rojo Show vents for a little but then jumps into some comfy topics. We talk about my life the last few months, we talk about black hair, we talk about some of my dance history, we talk about new gun ownership, at some point we tackle Sha' Carri Richardson vs Megan Rapinoe and Alen Hadzic and all the Olympic mess. Thanks for listening, tell a friend.
We discuss the need to mask back up in public places, defend Simone Biles's decision to withdraw from the Olympics for mental health reasons, and then complain about Brett Kavanaugh because the more we learn about his confirmation the more disgusting and unfair it becomes, even with 3 years of distance. The FBI's most recent report on how they handled their "investigation" into the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh only reinforces the disgrace of that Supreme Court confirmation. We see you: Britney Spears shamers, Gary Abernathy, insurrectionists (again), US Center for SafeSport, Alen Hadzic, Basilico's Pasta e Vino, Deutsche Bank Feminists Without Mystique is part of the Frolic Podcast Network.
