There were plenty of other terrible SCOTUS decisions handed down this term, and we take a look at a few of them. The Washington Post summarized it best - "The emboldened 6-3 conservative majority, with three nominees of President Donald Trump, wasted little time expanding the rights of gun owners to carry firearms in public, strengthening the role of religion in public life and sharply curtailing the Biden administration's power to combat climate change." The dreaded day has come. The landmark Supreme Court case granting women the constitutional right to an abortion, Roe v. Wade, has been overturned after nearly 50 years. It was a 6-3 decision written by Justice Alito. This overtly political decision has ominous implications for not only for reproductive health access, but for constitutional protections for contraceptives, gay marriage, and intimate sexual conduct. We discuss the continued fallout from last Tuesday's mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. The more we learn about the police's inept response the worse it gets. There were police on the scene within minutes and outside the classroom door for nearly an hour before intervention, despite repeated calls from the children from inside the classroom. On Tuesday a gunman murdered 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Last week a shooter murdered 10 people in a grocery store in Buffalo, New York. No meaningful gun control has been passed in the nearly 25 years since Columbine. How much senseless violence has to occur before lawmakers actually do something?
