Were UFOs only first reported in 1947 — or have they been recorded throughout human history? In this episode, we go deep into historical accounts of unidentified aerial phenomena from antiquity through the early modern period. Using primary sources, chronicles, and recorded eyewitness reports, we examine some of the most intriguing pre-modern sightings ever documented. We cover:The metallic object that halted a battle in Phrygia (74 BC)The “flying shields” reported during Alexander the Great's campaignsThe 1693 Boston light and possible missing time case recorded by Governor John WinthropThe 1790 Alençon crash involving a reported occupant and physical trace evidenceJapan's Utsuro-bune and the mystery of the hollow vesselThe Nuremberg (1561) and Basel (1566) sky phenomenaThe Cloera “sky ship” and anchor event in medieval IrelandWe also explore how culture, language, and technological context may shape the way witnesses describe unknown aerial phenomena — and whether modern UFO reports are part of a much older pattern. In the final segment, we discuss recent UAP news and the ongoing disclosure debate, including differing perspectives on current political developments. Are these historical accounts misidentified natural phenomena, symbolic religious narratives, or evidence of a long-standing unexplained presence?Watch and decide for yourself.Show notes here.Subscribe & Support:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1xzUFIMsReu8SEjvVAYyn8Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/uncovering-anomalies-podcast-uap/id1681616004YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@UncoveringAnomaliesPodcast X/Twitter: https://x.com/UAPthePodcast

Piše Katarina Mahnič, bereta Eva Longyka Marušič in Aleksander Golja. Brez lastnega truda in napenjanja možganov, brez vsakodnevnega ubadanja s prevozi in prenočišči, brez želje po samostojnem sporazumevanju v različnih jezikih. Brez resničnega stika z deželo in njenim vsakodnevnim življenjem, brez pristajanja na čim bolj pristno doživljanje njenih razmer. In zbrati pogum. In disciplina. Gora ni zadeta zadene bralca z divjim ritmom, kot dober rock. Potegne ga v sam vrtinec potovanja, še posebej v prvi tretjini, obarvani z mladostniško vnemo, nerodnostmi, predsodki, strahovi in humorjem.

Friends of the Rosary,Ten years ago, Louis and Zélie Martin — the parents of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, pictured — were canonized as a model of a joyful and holy marriage.Pope Leo said their lives show “marriage as a path to holiness.”"Among the vocations to which men and women are called by God, marriage is one of the noblest and most elevated.”Pope Leo XIV urged couples to look to the Saints as a model of a joyful and holy marriage. The Pontifex urged to discover God's “boundless love and tenderness and strive to make them love Him in return as He deserves.”Our secular society tends to present marriage and family as outdated and boring, but they are just the opposite. The pope described the Martins as a couple who found “profound happiness in giving life, transmitting the faith, and seeing their daughters grow and flourish under the gaze of the Lord.” “Dear couples, I invite you to persevere courageously on the path, sometimes difficult and laborious, but luminous, that you have undertaken,” Pope Leo stated.“Above all, put Jesus at the center of your families, your activities, and your choices,” he explained.Louis and Marie-Azélie (Zélie) Martin were married in 1858 at Notre Dame Basilica in Alençon. Before marrying, both had sought religious life — Louis with the Augustinians and Zélie with the Sisters of Charity — but each discerned that God was calling them to marriage.Zélie prayed for children who would consecrate their lives to God, and the couple was blessed with nine. Four died in infancy, and the remaining five became religious sisters, including Thérèse, who would later become one of the Church's most beloved saints and a Doctor of the Church.Thérèse said that God had given her “a mother and a father more worthy of heaven than of earth.”Zélie died of breast cancer in 1877 at age 45. After Zelie's death, Louis moved the family to Lisieux, where four of his daughters went on to become Carmelite nuns. The Martins were canonized together by Pope Francis on Oct. 18, 2015, becoming the first married couple in Church history to be declared saints together — a testament, Pope Leo said, to the enduring truth that marriage, lived faithfully, “leads to the glory of heaven.”Ave Maria!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! What happens when you take manufacturing efficiency principles and apply them to an industry built on human care? Most leaders would say it's impossible. Alen, COO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, proved them wrong. In this episode, Alen reveals how he's using Lean methodology to standardize processes across one of the nation's leading healthcare systems—without turning patients into numbers or doctors into robots. What You'll Learn: The Lean Healthcare Paradox How Cedars-Sinai Medical Network reduces waste and inefficiency while maintaining deeply personalized patient care. Alen breaks down the systems that allow standardization and customization to coexist. The Resistance Turnaround Alen shares a powerful story about implementing a change that employees initially hated. Instead of pushing harder, he did something counterintuitive—he listened. What happened next transformed not just the process, but the culture around change itself. The CEO Who Changed Everything Learn about the former CEO who mentored Alen and demonstrated that even in massive organizations, leaders can make genuine personal connections. This isn't soft skills fluff—it's a systematic approach to building trust at scale. Listening Rounds That Actually Work Alen reveals his system for staying connected with frontline employees across dozens of clinics. He doesn't just visit randomly—he tracks connections to ensure every employee feels seen. This simple metric has profound implications for engagement and retention. When Feedback Changes the Plan Most leaders say they're open to feedback, but few have systems to actually capture and act on it. Alen walks through a specific example where frontline staff feedback completely changed his implementation approach—and why that made the system stronger. Perfect For: Healthcare leaders struggling to balance efficiency with patient careCOOs and operations executives implementing change in large organizationsBusiness owners who want to bring Lean principles to service-based businessesLeaders who've faced employee resistance and need a better approachAnyone building systems in industries where "the human element" can't be sacrificed Key Quotes: "The frontline staff knew something we didn't. Our job wasn't to convince them we were right. Our job was to listen until we understood what they were seeing." "You can't mandate connection. But you can build systems that make it more likely to happen—and measure whether it's actually happening." Why This Episode Matters: If you've ever thought "systems and processes will make us too rigid" or "our industry is different—we can't standardize," this conversation will challenge everything you believe about the relationship between efficiency and humanity. Alen proves that the right systems don't constrain care—they create the space for it to flourish. Listen now to discover how one of America's leading medical networks eliminates waste, engages employees, and delivers world-class care—all at the same time. One of the principal architects of Allied Victory in North Africa during World War Two was French General Louis Dio. His importance in North Africa lies in his role as a key leader of the Free French forces and a trusted subordinate to General Philippe Leclerc. He participated in every battle from Douala to the Fezzan Campaigns in the early 1940s. The most heroic moment of General Louis Dio came during the siege of the Italian fort at Kufra, a key desert outpost in southern Libya, in 1941. During the intense fighting, Dio personally led a daring night grenade assault on an Italian position, an action for which he was seriously injured and later made a Companion of the Liberation by Charles de Gaulle. Despite all that, he remains largely unrecognized because he was a modest and discreet man who left no memoirs and did not seek glory, preferring to live a simple life after the war. Many books exist in French to recount General Philippe Leclerc’s famous WWII epic, from his 1940 arrival in Cameroon until the final 1945 victory in Germany. However, few are dedicated to his fellow combatants. In this episode, we retrace the steps of this epic journey from the Free French soldiers fighting under Dio’s command. They had started in the forests of Gabon and ended at Hitler’s Eagle Nest. Particular interest is paid to the role of Dio Tactical Group in the seizure of the town of Alençon in Normandy, the liberation battles of the left bank of Paris, the thrust into Alsace and Lorraine, the conquest of Strasbourg (fulfilling Leclerc’s “Koufra Oath” to see the tricolor fly from the city’s cathedral. Today’s guest is Monique Seefried, author of “Général Louis Dio, the Wartime Epic of One of Free France’s Greatest Soldiers, 1940-1946.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Palliative care physician and author Alen Voskanian discusses his article, "Discover the secrets to regaining joy in medicine," based on an excerpt from his book. Drawing from his personal experience with burnout where he felt isolated and like a failure within the demanding medical industry, Alen strongly emphasizes that burnout is a common result of a broken health care system, not an individual failing. He offers key advice points for physicians and health care workers: recognize burnout isn't your fault, engage in fixing the system, always prioritize patients ethically, let go of harmful comparison and competition, seek help without shame, make time for loved ones and important life events, prioritize personal health and wellbeing through nutrition, sleep, exercise, and mindfulness, practice gratitude, curb perfectionism, and continually reconnect with your core purpose for entering the field. Alen urges colleagues to understand that joy is their right and to actively reclaim it for themselves, their families, and their patients. Our presenting sponsor is Microsoft Dragon Copilot. She has continued this work as the Vice President of Marketing at AlEn, a Proctor & Gamble-like company with products in 95% of households in Mexico. In his debut episode as the new co-host of Owl Have You Know, Brian Jackson '21 sits down with Tanu to chat about her early marketing days at Coca-Cola in India, the strategies she gained from Whirlpool for understanding consumer behavior, and how she's innovating at AlEn for different markets in the U.S. and Mexico. You can be, you know, whatever demographic, but even within that, your lived experiences can really make you a very diverse person because you have a certain way of looking at the world that your neighbor doesn't, right? And so, that to me is diversity, because you can then look at the same problem and think about solving it very differently. And I have seen it in action, Brian, in every continent. And it always, always amazes me how five people looking at the same slide can interpret it so differently because how they've grown up, what they've, you know, what experiences have shaped their lives.Tanu's approach to navigating multi-cultural markets06:30: Back in India, my dad was in the army. We moved around a lot, so I had the opportunity to really immerse myself in different cultures and have the ability to talk to different people, so I think that's what it is. And even when I went for my expat assignment, I was managing 33 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. And the first thing I said was, I need to understand people. So we went out and did focus groups in different cities to really understand what the brand means to someone in France, or somebody in Germany, or in Israel. And really, you know, I would recommend every marketer to really study. And once you get an understanding, don't just stop there. Keep doing this, right? Because people change, people evolve, and things around the people evolve. And I think the pace of change, if anything, has just kind of 10xed, right? So, that's kind of my secret sauce. On gratitude, growth and giving back35:27: I really do think I've been extremely fortunate in a lot of things. You know, I grew up in India as a girl. My dad was like a feminist, way ahead of his time. I mean, just a man... I mean, we lost him a couple of years ago, but I mean, I always think about, am I going to be able to do that for my child, right? Be that progressive and all of that. And then, you know, getting the opportunity to come here, go to Rice, work in all the fabulous companies I have, lived in all these different countries. Sometimes, when I sit and think about it, I'm like, man, yeah. I have got to be thankful for all this, and then I have to give back, right? I have to help other people because that's just what you do. And I derive a lot of joy from giving back and from helping other people.Show Links: TranscriptGuest Profiles:Tanu Grewal | Rice Business

What do customer acquisition and funnel hacking have in common? You gotta have the latter to do the former—and Joey Steger's got the guide to do it this year. We're talking ad spend up and down the funnel. Ideally, you want to spend a lot at the top, but you should also think about how much you're spending in the middle and at the bottom. Everyone's different, so you gotta see what percentages work best for your brand. Plus, Joey shares why he uses a network of content creators and why they're important: they know your product, your brand, and can produce something in a short period of time. All in all, it's cost effective. But what type of campaign should you run? What does active consideration do in your audience's minds? And, we share a hard truth: you can't win with just product attributes these days. So, what does it take to win people over? If you're looking to level up when it comes to funnel strategy, ROAS, and more, this is the episode for YOU.
