A rezultat govori drugače.

Milosav Gudović: Jež in polž

Ocene

Play Episode Listen Later May 11, 2026 7:04

Piše Marija Švajncer, bereta Maja Moll in Dejan Kaloper. Odgovarja zase in nase.

Chefs Alen Ramos and Carolyn Nugent have been mentored by some of the world's most renowned chefs. The two, who are now married, met while working for Joël Robuchon, who was awarded the title "Chef of the Century" in 1989. The two decided to pack their bags and learn from the greats of Europe. They've worked in restaurants in France, Switzerland and Spain, and were selected to work in El Bulli and The Fat Duck, judged to be the number one and number two restaurants in the world during their tenure. They strengthened their gastronomic foundation through invaluable classical French training at Pierre Hermé in Paris. "We have been the recipients of priceless training by some of the best chefs of our time," said Nugent. "We are expressing that knowledge at Poulette Bakeshop, offering delicious food, made with care by a team of passionate people, led by experienced chefs." After returning to the United States from Europe, the pair spearheaded the bread and pastry programs at L2o in Chicago, under the mentorship of Laurent Gras, which was subsequently awarded three Michelin stars. The two then built the French Patisserie program at Bottega Louie in Los Angeles and went on to assist Thomas Keller with Bouchon Bakery in Beverly Hills. Next, Ramos & Nugent were part of the team that facilitated Quince in San Francisco going from a two Michelin star rating to three stars. The couple's reputation earned them a Research & Development position at the iconic Tartine Bakery in San Francisco where they pushed fresh milled flours and heritage grains to the forefront of artisanal baking. Finally, working under Chefs Jacquy Pfeiffer & Sebastien Canonne as a chef-instructor at The French Pastry School, the nation's top educational facility for baking & pastry education, finalized a love of education and classical French pastry. In 2020, Nugent was honored to have been selected and cast as Chef Assistant to world renowned Chef & Chocolatier, Amaury Guichon, for his debut television show, School of Chocolate, now streaming internationally on Netflix. In 2024, Carolyn & Alen were honored to be nationally recognized as Semifinalists for The James Beard Awards in the category of Best Pastry Chef and Baker. "Our many years of education allowed us the opportunity to create Michelin star style pastry and confections in a large-scale environment," said Ramos. "The techniques we use at Poulette Bakeshop have been a specialty of the French patisserie for hundreds of years and are difficult to master. We can't wait to bring European and American style pastries, treats, loaves of bread and tasty food made from locally sourced ingredients to Parker." "We believe in the tradition of our craft," said Nugent. "Alen and I have driven the concepts of other great chefs throughout our careers, but feel that now is our time to make our dream a reality." Their artisanal pastries and baked goods can be found at Poulette Bakeshop in Parker, Colorado, every Wednesday to Saturday from 8am-3pm. www.poulettebakeshop.com In this episode, we discuss: How Alen and Carolyn met while working at Robuchon in Las Vegas Soaking up the creative juices at El Bulli in Spain Working hard and learning lots at The Fat Duck On the opening team at L2O in Chicago Being part of the magic at Tartine in San Francisco Opening a pop-up in Parker, CO during COVID The birth of Poulette Bakeshop And much more! Sanja Pregl: Tečaj poslušnosti

Piše Miša Gams, bereta Igor Velše in Eva Longyka Marušič. On mi nič ne prepoveduje. Sebičnost in egoizem sta vseprisotna.

In this episode of The Clinical Research Coach, host Leanne Woehlke sits down with Alen Hadzic, Founder and CEO of CT Scan, to explore how data, digital advertising, and AI are reshaping the way patients are enrolled into clinical trials.Coming from a background in consulting, marketing strategy, and lead generation, Alen brings a fresh lens to one of the industry's most persistent challenges—patient recruitment and enrollment. Rather than relying on traditional recruitment models, his company has developed a methodology called Predictive Enrollment Engineering, designed to calculate and optimize cost-per-enrollment using real-world advertising data.Alen shares how CT Scan's patent-pending AI platform, Dyno AI, analyzes millions of dollars in digital advertising performance across dozens of clinical research projects to model enrollment funnels—from ad engagement and qualification to phone contact, eligibility, and final enrollment.During the conversation, Leanne and Alen discuss:Why traditional patient recruitment models often fail to deliver resultsThe hidden friction points that cause patients to drop out of the enrollment funnelHow digital advertising can be used to measure and optimize patient interestThe importance of rapid follow-up and human engagement in improving response ratesHow CT Scan achieves a 65% phone answer rate through immediate outreach and optimized workflowsWhy focusing on cost per enrollment—not cost per lead—changes the entire recruitment strategyAlen also shares his unconventional journey into the clinical trials industry—from early exposure to research through his physician father to a career in consulting and entrepreneurship that ultimately led him to rethink how clinical trials approach patient enrollment. If clinical trial recruitment has ever felt unpredictable, inefficient, or frustrating, this episode offers a data-driven perspective on how AI, marketing science, and operational discipline could transform enrollment into a measurable and predictable process.Tune in to learn how predictive modeling and digital marketing principles may help bring new optimism to clinical trial enrollment.Alen Hadzic is a healthcare technology entrepreneur focused on bringing predictability and operational rigor to clinical trial enrollment. He is the Founder and CEO of CT SCAN™, a company developing systems to remove uncertainty from patient recruitment by engineering enrollment as a measurable process rather than a marketing outcome. His work centers on Predictive Enrollment Engineering™, a methodology that models each stage of the patient journey, from initial awareness through screening and enrollment, using probability-based performance metrics. The company's patent-pending enrollment technology, DYNO Ai™, analyzes operational and advertising data to forecast cost-per-enrollment and reduce study timelines.Hadzic holds a graduate degree from Columbia University and completed a Master's in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Vlerick Business School, a top-ranked European program in the field. His background combines business strategy, systems thinking, and applied analytics in clinical research operations.Outside of his professional work, he is an active musician who records and performs his own material, playing guitar, drums, and vocals. He approaches both technology and music with a similar philosophy: structured systems can create reliable outcomes, but creativity determines how far those outcomes can be pushed.

Were UFOs only first reported in 1947 — or have they been recorded throughout human history? In this episode, we go deep into historical accounts of unidentified aerial phenomena from antiquity through the early modern period. Using primary sources, chronicles, and recorded eyewitness reports, we examine some of the most intriguing pre-modern sightings ever documented. We cover:The metallic object that halted a battle in Phrygia (74 BC)The “flying shields” reported during Alexander the Great's campaignsThe 1693 Boston light and possible missing time case recorded by Governor John WinthropThe 1790 Alençon crash involving a reported occupant and physical trace evidenceJapan's Utsuro-bune and the mystery of the hollow vesselThe Nuremberg (1561) and Basel (1566) sky phenomenaThe Cloera “sky ship” and anchor event in medieval IrelandWe also explore how culture, language, and technological context may shape the way witnesses describe unknown aerial phenomena — and whether modern UFO reports are part of a much older pattern. In the final segment, we discuss recent UAP news and the ongoing disclosure debate, including differing perspectives on current political developments. Are these historical accounts misidentified natural phenomena, symbolic religious narratives, or evidence of a long-standing unexplained presence?Watch and decide for yourself.Show notes here.Subscribe & Support:Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1xzUFIMsReu8SEjvVAYyn8Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/uncovering-anomalies-podcast-uap/id1681616004YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@UncoveringAnomaliesPodcast X/Twitter: https://x.com/UAPthePodcast

Before marrying, both had sought religious life — Louis with the Augustinians and Zélie with the Sisters of Charity — but each discerned that God was calling them to marriage.Zélie prayed for children who would consecrate their lives to God, and the couple was blessed with nine. Four died in infancy, and the remaining five became religious sisters, including Thérèse, who would later become one of the Church's most beloved saints and a Doctor of the Church.Thérèse said that God had given her “a mother and a father more worthy of heaven than of earth.”Zélie died of breast cancer in 1877 at age 45. After Zelie's death, Louis moved the family to Lisieux, where four of his daughters went on to become Carmelite nuns. The Martins were canonized together by Pope Francis on Oct. 18, 2015, becoming the first married couple in Church history to be declared saints together — a testament, Pope Leo said, to the enduring truth that marriage, lived faithfully, “leads to the glory of heaven.”Ave Maria!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! What happens when you take manufacturing efficiency principles and apply them to an industry built on human care? Most leaders would say it's impossible. Alen, COO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, proved them wrong. In this episode, Alen reveals how he's using Lean methodology to standardize processes across one of the nation's leading healthcare systems—without turning patients into numbers or doctors into robots. What You'll Learn: The Lean Healthcare Paradox How Cedars-Sinai Medical Network reduces waste and inefficiency while maintaining deeply personalized patient care. Alen breaks down the systems that allow standardization and customization to coexist. The Resistance Turnaround Alen shares a powerful story about implementing a change that employees initially hated. Instead of pushing harder, he did something counterintuitive—he listened. What happened next transformed not just the process, but the culture around change itself. The CEO Who Changed Everything Learn about the former CEO who mentored Alen and demonstrated that even in massive organizations, leaders can make genuine personal connections. This isn't soft skills fluff—it's a systematic approach to building trust at scale. Listening Rounds That Actually Work Alen reveals his system for staying connected with frontline employees across dozens of clinics. He doesn't just visit randomly—he tracks connections to ensure every employee feels seen. This simple metric has profound implications for engagement and retention. When Feedback Changes the Plan Most leaders say they're open to feedback, but few have systems to actually capture and act on it. Alen walks through a specific example where frontline staff feedback completely changed his implementation approach—and why that made the system stronger. Perfect For: Healthcare leaders struggling to balance efficiency with patient careCOOs and operations executives implementing change in large organizationsBusiness owners who want to bring Lean principles to service-based businessesLeaders who've faced employee resistance and need a better approachAnyone building systems in industries where "the human element" can't be sacrificed Key Quotes: "The frontline staff knew something we didn't. Our job wasn't to convince them we were right. Our job was to listen until we understood what they were seeing." "You can't mandate connection. But you can build systems that make it more likely to happen—and measure whether it's actually happening." Why This Episode Matters: If you've ever thought "systems and processes will make us too rigid" or "our industry is different—we can't standardize," this conversation will challenge everything you believe about the relationship between efficiency and humanity. Alen proves that the right systems don't constrain care—they create the space for it to flourish. Listen now to discover how one of America's leading medical networks eliminates waste, engages employees, and delivers world-class care—all at the same time. One of the principal architects of Allied Victory in North Africa during World War Two was French General Louis Dio. His importance in North Africa lies in his role as a key leader of the Free French forces and a trusted subordinate to General Philippe Leclerc. He participated in every battle from Douala to the Fezzan Campaigns in the early 1940s. The most heroic moment of General Louis Dio came during the siege of the Italian fort at Kufra, a key desert outpost in southern Libya, in 1941. During the intense fighting, Dio personally led a daring night grenade assault on an Italian position, an action for which he was seriously injured and later made a Companion of the Liberation by Charles de Gaulle. Despite all that, he remains largely unrecognized because he was a modest and discreet man who left no memoirs and did not seek glory, preferring to live a simple life after the war. Many books exist in French to recount General Philippe Leclerc’s famous WWII epic, from his 1940 arrival in Cameroon until the final 1945 victory in Germany. However, few are dedicated to his fellow combatants. In this episode, we retrace the steps of this epic journey from the Free French soldiers fighting under Dio’s command. They had started in the forests of Gabon and ended at Hitler’s Eagle Nest. Particular interest is paid to the role of Dio Tactical Group in the seizure of the town of Alençon in Normandy, the liberation battles of the left bank of Paris, the thrust into Alsace and Lorraine, the conquest of Strasbourg (fulfilling Leclerc’s “Koufra Oath” to see the tricolor fly from the city’s cathedral. Today’s guest is Monique Seefried, author of “Général Louis Dio, the Wartime Epic of One of Free France’s Greatest Soldiers, 1940-1946.” See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Palliative care physician and author Alen Voskanian discusses his article, "Discover the secrets to regaining joy in medicine," based on an excerpt from his book. Drawing from his personal experience with burnout where he felt isolated and like a failure within the demanding medical industry, Alen strongly emphasizes that burnout is a common result of a broken health care system, not an individual failing. He offers key advice points for physicians and health care workers: recognize burnout isn't your fault, engage in fixing the system, always prioritize patients ethically, let go of harmful comparison and competition, seek help without shame, make time for loved ones and important life events, prioritize personal health and wellbeing through nutrition, sleep, exercise, and mindfulness, practice gratitude, curb perfectionism, and continually reconnect with your core purpose for entering the field. Alen urges colleagues to understand that joy is their right and to actively reclaim it for themselves, their families, and their patients. Our presenting sponsor is Microsoft Dragon Copilot.
