Kristen Stewart's back in the press cycle and the whole internet's talking about Twilight again — so we're doing a brutally honest review of New Moon, the moodiest, mopiest chapter of the saga. We rewatched as adults and it hits very differently. We get into the forest break-up that scarred a generation, Bella's months-long depression spiral (and those phantom Edward hallucinations), and the case that Jacob was right all along — and hotter. Plus the glow-up that saved Taylor Lautner's career, the strange ageing panic underneath it all, and that chaotic dash to Italy.Emotional, unhinged, excellent. And if you love this episode let us know, because we might do Eclipse next.Loved today's episode? Hello and welcome the 175th episode of Film Freakz, our podcast about movies! This episode we chose to talk about the movie Twilight New Moon from 2009! This podcast features YemmytheFerret (Yemmy), RaeofPositivity (Rae), Taymation Studios (Tay), and JustKalas (Kalas). This movie was chosen by our listener Chamillyon, thanks for the recommendation! Bella Swan is on the cusp of her 18th birthday and blissfully happy with her undead beau Edward Cullen. While celebrating her birthday with Edward's family of 'vegetarian' vampires, a frightening incident convinces Edward that he's simply too dangerous to be around his sweetheart. He decides to leave the town of Forks in order to ensure her safety - leaving her behind, angry and depressed. Directed by Chris Weitz. Thank you for listening on all platforms! We want YOUR recommendations for the FAN VOTE! In this month's Patreon episode, we begin a new series: The Twilight Saga, by Stephanie Meyer. We start with…Twilight! Topics include our initial reactions to reading this book as emotional teens, Vampire Garbage Edward Cullen, Human Bowl of Oatmeal Bella, the unnervingly fast timeline of this book, what the heck is up with Stephenie Meyer, and Taylor's utter ~chagrin~ throughout this episode. Plus, a quick Vampire Diaries tangent. And of course, we dive into the Twilight movie franchise. This month's cocktail: The Skin of a Killer (aka Special Sparkly Gin & Tonic)INGREDIENTS: 6 oz elderflower tonic water (or regular tonic water)1.5 oz GinJuice of ½ lime3 dashes lavender bitters3 dashes orange bitters1 tap edible glitterINSTRUCTIONS:Fill tall glass with ice. Add all ingredients and stirGarnish with a lime wheelJoin us next time as we continue our Twilight Saga re-read with New Moon!
With a glance at her lengthy filmography, you'd never know that Australian filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay is barely in her twenties. THE SERPENT'S SKIN (now available on digital and Blu-Ray) is her sixth feature. And while her work is generally categorized as horror or fantasy, the undercurrent of romance there is a tell for the romantic saga that made her feel seen: TWILIGHT (the books, the movies, the whole series). So which Bella is she? And how has she made so many movies already? Jordan asks all this and more... Then, Jordan has one quick thing about Alice's next movie, plus an indie from SERPENT'S SKIN actor Avalon Fast. Help support this show and unlock bonus content! This month's bonus episode we are revisiting Eclipse, where the stakes are higher, the wigs are worse, and the love triangle is somehow even more unhinged. Bella Swan continues her lifelong hobby of making absolutely baffling decisions as she's torn between sparkly control enthusiast Edward Cullen and aggressively boundary-ignoring werewolf Jacob Black. Meanwhile, a literal vampire army is being assembled… but sure, let's focus on Bella's engagement anxiety. Revisit the series that puts the 'why?' in 'Y.A.' So queue up the movie, dust off your copy, and continue with us as we spiral back into the alarmingly problematic world of The Twilight Saga! Want a signed copy of THE BUTCHER LEGACY? Ben and Rob return to Forks for The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), the moodier, louder, and somehow even more emotionally chaotic sequel that turned a teen vampire romance into a full-blown blockbuster franchise. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (now with significantly more screen time and significantly fewer shirts), New Moon finds Bella Swan reeling from heartbreak, spiraling into supernatural depression, and discovering that if one dangerous immortal boyfriend disappears, there's always a pack of extremely buff werewolves waiting in the wings. What is New Moon, exactly? a breakup drama, a monster movie, or two hours of staring out rainy windows set to indie rock? how does the film immediately escalate the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob love triangle into a full-on cultural battleground? and how does the sequel double down on the series' Mormon coded ideas about chastity, eternal commitment, and “don't even think about it” desire (aka Mormon Subtext 2: Chastity Boogaloo)? With a bigger budget and bigger expectations, what changes behind the camera and on screen? Does the expanded action, globe-trotting vampire politics, and slow-motion wolf running actually improve things? and at what point does this movie quietly turn into Top Gun for werewolves? Which choices genuinely work, which are baffling, and which feel completely unhinged? How did New Moon transform teenage longing into an international event movie? And finally, beneath the angst, abs, and apocalyptic romance, what does New Moon really mean?CONSUUUME to find out all this and much, much more!PLUS! Grab your brown-tinted filters and emotional support glitter, because Ash and Alaina are back in Forks for a full-throttle deep dive into New Moon. For this month's BONUS EPISODE we're unpacking Edward's dramatic exit, Bella's months-long depression montage (hello, spinning seasons), and the introduction of a jort-wearing werewolf jamborees: Jacob Black. We debate whether ghost Edward is helpful or wildly unhinged, and try to make sense of the Volturi's whole vibe! There's chaos, hot takes, and Bella imitations that will make you howl! Light a candle, stare moodily out a window, and join us, because the angst is real, the wolves are howling, and we're all #TeamMessy!
I und II. Die Meinungen geht dabei ziemlich auseinander, es wird durchaus etwas hitzig, aber auch witzig. Viel Spaß beim Hören! Es gibt zwischenzeitlich ein paar kleinere Tonschnitzer, bitte entschuldigt!
Share your lol moments of the episodeLet's talk about vampires, grooming, and Mr. Fantasy, baby! We have finally come to the epic conclusion of the Twilight Saga, and to help us again is our girls, Maura and Ari from She's Got The Chat. This movie is ~arguably~ the best in the series, and that's some high praise! We had a blast recording this episode and having it be the first episode released in 2026. What a wonderful way to celebrate our THIRD anniversary, woah!!! Socials:Follow us on Instagram, TikTok and Threads @scaredybratspod

"Hold on tight, spider monkey." We watched "Twilight" with our friend Harper Thomson, and we all took our burgers with extra ketchup. We're closing out our "Kristen-mas" season with the first installment of the "Twilight Saga," and this movie is insane in the best possible way. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have gotten a lot of flack over the years for their portrayals of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, but they were making some real choices, and let's be honest— real teenagers can be insufferable sometimes, so maybe those choices were valid. Meanwhile, K-Stew and R-Pats are living their best post-franchise lives, making interesting movies, and being generally cooler than any of us, so who's laughing now? We talk about meme-able moments from the film, the interesting styling choices, and the lasting impact of the franchise on pop culture. Will this be the first review of the entire FIVE-film saga? Possibly. These movies only get kookier as they go on— stick around to find out! Michael Sheen is an award-winning actor. After finding his love for the stage with the West Glamorgan Youth theatre as a teenager, he studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He spent the 1990s making a name for himself as a stage actor, shining in the classics from Romeo and Juliet to Peer Gynt as well as in 20th century masterpieces such as Look Back in Anger and Amadeus, receiving several Olivier Award nominations along the way.A relocation to the US in the early 2000s with his then partner, the actress Kate Beckinsale, and their young daughter Lily prompted a move into films. His breakthrough came in 2003 when he portrayed Tony Blair in a Stephen Frears film called The Deal. It was the beginning of what became an unlikely specialism: morphing into real people from recent history: Kenneth Williams, David Frost, Brian Clough, Chris Tarrant, and Prince Andrew – with two more outings as Tony Blair thrown in for good measure.Michael was born in Newport, South Wales, in February 1969, the eldest of two children to Meyrick and Irene. He grew up in Port Talbot from the age of eight and considers it his hometown. His first love was football, and he was spotted as youngster by an Arsenal talent scout to play for their youth team. His parents decided against moving the family to London and he turned to acting instead and graduated from RADA in 1991.Alongside the classic dramas, his range extends to appearing in fantasy and science fiction films such as The Twilight Saga and Tron: Legacy. Michael has said that the most meaningful project to him was a modern restaging of the passion play in Port Talbot in 2011, which involved the participation of a thousand local people, because it opened his eyes to the difficulties many of them were experiencing. He has since used his own money to fund the 2019 Homeless World Cup in Cardiff and set up an organisation which supports community groups. Michael lives in Wales with his partner, the actress Anna Lundberg, and their two young daughters.
