We all have moments when we're confronted with something that causes us to clench our fists and tighten our jaws. In those moments, it's not that we need to tell ourselves to not be angry. It's in those moments that we get to redirect our anger to God. Not to ourselves, not to the person who wrongfully accused us or hurt us, but to the One who knows the anger we carry. In this episode, I talk through three different ways scripture instructs us to process anger with God. Don't allow the sun to go down on your anger. Be proactive in redirecting your anger so your anger doesn't redirect you. After the extraordinary repentance and forgiveness in Nineveh, we would expect great rejoicing on Jonah's part. We would expect him to return to Israel telling of the glories of what God did to the pagan city. We would expect such things, and we would be wrong. Jonah 4 is one of the most heartbreaking and dark responses to God's lavish grace in all of Scripture. And while it's a mirror into the darkness of our own hearts, it is also a spotlight on the glorious grace of God to his wayward children. Keith Pond explains.
Being angry with God is not a sin. Be honest with Him in prayer.

Part 4 - “Good and Angry” - Psalm 13 - Anger often stems from unmet “needs,” such as a desire for respect, admiration, or affirmation. There must be a balance between legitimate needs and codependency. One major way we attempt to have these needs met is by trying to control others. The Bible gives the better alternative—freedom in choices and freedom from dependencies.
