Hey Nurse Mom, Caregiver friend,  You care for everyone so well, but do not have the time, energy or belief left to care for yourself. I believe if we truly found ourselves worthy of the crown, found our worth as a daughter of the King and lived in that truth, we wouldn't find ourselves in Stressedout-ville or Burnout Bay. I think it all comes back to worth. self-worth. Do you know he created YOU as a masterpiece! And he planned all the good, amazing things you would do in this life- abundant life. And do you know he died for YOU? So that He could spend eternity with you in a perfect place with no sin or brokenness. God says you are worthy! Will you believe Him? Let's deep breathe, pray and meditate on the scripture and may it transform our hearts and minds. The verse for our breath prayer is: 10 For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]. Ephesians 2:10 AMP 3 min : Inhale: I am Your masterpiece, Lord Exhale: Created for the good works You already prepared   Shalom Shalom,  Xx, Shan  ……CONNECT…… Are you in burnout or just stressed??  Take the Free QUIZ

Tricia Bertram Gallant and David Rettinger discuss The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI on episode 568 of the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast. Quotes from the episode It is true that people cheat, and that's the reason we have rules in the first place in our lives. -David Rettinger There are always going to be social, personal, and individual pressures on us that cause us to do things that either we didn't realize were wrong, or that we perfectly well know that are wrong, but that in that moment seem like a reasonable trade off to our behavior. -David Rettinger Take care of yourself first, whatever that looks like. You're never going to help somebody else if you're not on firm ground yourself. -David Rettinger You can treat people with dignity and respect even as you're calling out their mistake. You can challenge them while being respectful. -Tricia Bertram Gallant It is important for us to remember to give grace to ourselves. -Tricia Bertram Gallant Resources The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI, by Tricia Bertram Gallant and David A. :   Our FFF pet is Kernal! Kernal is a bully mix, but he's so sleek and slender he looks a little like a small greyhound! He is such a gentle, loving soul that he is STRESSED OUT at the shelter and needs to find a home as soon as possible. He just spent the long weekend in a foster home where he took two days to fully decompress and then was ready to come out and be part of the family, which included two other young male dogs. He has been in playgroups at the shelter and can be a little pushy with other dogs but is easily corrected. He is the definition of a velcro dog - he wants to be with his people all the time, but can also just hang on his own in his crate.  He seems to not care about cats at all, but we always recommend a slow introduction. He is also terrific with kids, but again, we always recommend respectful children. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. His adoption fee is sponsored as he needs to find a great home quickly. Come and scoop up this best boy today! Contact Berrien County Animal Control at 1400 S. Listen to today's podcast... You may be like me and feeling that the challenges and changes that we are currently facing are taking their toll on your energy and your mental health. We have buckled down, and hunkered down. We will never feel at ease or in control if our task list is so long that it doesn't allow for a little downtime. A lack of self-care causes more stress. Self-care during challenging times is critical. Without it, we can not be resilient. We need to give ourselves permission to do less and to focus on our needs. To take care of ourself is restorative. People who focus on self-care are happier and have more stamina to get more accomplished. Take One Action Today To Build Your #Resiliency!      Here are today's Tips For Building Resiliency and Celebrating Self-Care Awareness Month: This pandemic is taking a toll on our work, our economy, our social lives, and also on our mental health. These are challenging times and now is the time to be kind to yourself. Now is the time to focus on what you can do, not what you can't do. Look for ways to engage in self-care that works for you. If you hate yoga, don't force yourself to workout in an on-line yoga class. You don't need the extra pressure, guilt, and challenge. Self-care is about focusing on your priorities and including yourself in those priorities. When you find yourself reacting negatively, remember the acronym STOP. Stop Take a couple of Deep Breaths Observe what is happening Proceed by recognizing your fears, frustrations, guilt, sadness, hunger, tiredness etc and take an appropriate action by making amends, satisfying the need, diverting, re-energizing, refocusing, or relaxing. Test out a variety of calming techniques. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to relaxation, meditation, or mindfulness. Taking a mini-break will remind you that you're worth it. Make a list of 10 self-care activities that resonate with you. Try to take at least one mini-break a day where you incorporate a self-care activity from your list.
