The guys tackle the remaining Midnight Sons Spoilers and get to talking about Hood, the almost-but-not-quite leader with a million faces.  They also swap ideas about what the upcoming Banned & Restricted update, and why it should probably include Bitter Rivals.  They also spend some time revisiting a few hot takes that they had, which mostly leads to Marc gushing over Jean Grey in X-Men. The guys also spend some time disagreeing heavily on how good Carnage is, with some members of the cast taking back their negativity from his reveal episode. 

This week Sooner left Todd and Chris home alone while he went on vacation and of course, they ran amok with their neighborhood pal Menion. The kids talk Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Mr. Sinister who Todd refers to as the most "Meh" of all the "Meh" characters in the game. Can a take that boring be spicy?? Anyway, we also get into the new banned/restricted list where our old friend Hired Muscle makes a re-appearance almost 6 months after we announced the card was busted on the podcast. Faithless Brewing, Episode 56: Days of Thunder "On Monday 6/1 there will be an update to the Banned & Restricted list impacting the Standard and Historic formats that will also address the Companion mechanic." Thus spake WotC's official Twitter account on Tuesday, and just this morning Blake Rasmussen confirmed that there will indeed be a functional change to Ikoria's flagship mechanic. Let the speculation commence! While few would contend that nothing needs to be changed, there is broad disagreement about what fix, if any, would satisfy the goals of Wizards and the player base at large. Can the Companion mechanic be saved? Or is it safer, in the sage words of David Robertson, to "nuke it from space"?
