Steve Adams joins Darragh McDonald to discuss the Orioles firing manager Brandon Hyde after a brutal start to their season, what qualities you want in a manager on a rebuilding team compared to a manager on a competing team, the Dodgers designating Austin Barnes for assignment in order to make room for top catching prospect Dalton Rushing, Chris Taylor getting released, Phillies' reliever Jose Alvarado getting hit with a PED suspension and the possibility of the team signing David Robertson. Listener email questions include if Rhys Hoskins and other big bats will be available at the trade deadline, pitchers the Dodgers could target, if the Brewers could trade Freddy Peralta, and if the Pirates will fire GM Ben Cherington.

From Toastmasters-style public speaking to Apple-powered media literacy, JOSHWAY isn't just meeting kids where they are—it's helping them lead. They're not reinventing the wheel—they're upgrading it. “We're not just starting new programs,” says Glenn. “We're transforming existing ones for the 21st century.” Digital Skills Meet Real-World Impact Through partnerships with Apple and others, students are learning how to use Keynote to build presentations, GarageBand to create podcasts, and financial literacy tools to better understand money. And the team's entrepreneurial spirit shines: “We're scrappy. We're flexible. We move fast,” David adds. Community First, Always JOSHWAY's new headquarters on Northampton Street is just the beginning. The team is now running inbound and outbound workshops and collaborating with organizations like El Sistema and Century Promise to scale impact. They're calling for others—especially those aged 35 to 45—to join the movement. “If you're not ready to start your own thing,” David says, “take a board seat. Get involved.” What's Next? JOSHWAY is working on expanding into school curricula, launching youth Toastmasters programs, and publishing Joshua and the Power of Resilience, a forthcoming book co-authored by Glenn. Episode 108 – Cubs Bullpen: Just Noise or Time to Panic? I kicked off the episode by celebrating one of the most infamous moments in Cubs history: Lee Elia's legendary 1983 postgame rant. If you've never heard it, do yourself a favor and look it up — it's a time capsule of frustration, profanity, and peak Cubs lore. Then I pivoted to the present: the Cubs are 17-12 after surviving a brutal April schedule. Not a single game against a losing team until this series in Pittsburgh — that's wild. I talked through why I'm actually encouraged by this start — especially considering we've already seen the Dodgers, Padres, Diamondbacks, and Rangers. No cupcake wins in that bunch. The offense has been carrying the load — leading MLB in runs scored and ranking top five in most categories. Pitching? That's where it gets interesting. Let's talk bullpen: There's panic out there, and I get it — but I dug into the numbers and game logs to get a clearer picture of what's actually happening. I broke down every blown save so far — who they're charged to, how they happened, and why that stat doesn't always mean what fans think it does. I showed how a single bad outing is inflating ERAs for guys like Porter Hodge and Brad Keller — and why Hodge, in particular, has actually been solid outside of one meltdown. I walked through game-by-game bullpen usage during the last homestand to separate emotion from results. Some of those wins? The bullpen locked it down. I compared this group to last year's disaster — and while they're walking too many guys and not getting enough strikeouts, it's not the same situation as 2024. At least not yet. Where we go from here: I talked about who I trust in the late innings right now (spoiler: it's not just Presley), and why the Cubs need to keep cycling through arms until they find the right mix. I gave Jed some criticism for not doing more in the offseason — but also credit for being aggressive with early call-ups and DFA moves. I touched on David Robertson rumors, why adding starting depth could actually help the bullpen, and what internal options might emerge. Finally, I looked ahead to May — the schedule softens up, and if this team keeps doing what it did in April against easier opponents, we might just stay on top of the division. WDIY Lehigh Valley Health Network Wind Creek Event Center Michael Bernadyn of RE/MAX Real Estate Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub Banko Beverage Company Episode Recap Teen Voices, Real Conversations: Inside YANA LV on WDIY “You are not alone.” It's more than a title—it's the foundation of YANA LV, the student-led mental health show created by Moravian Academy seniors Brannagh Breslin and Diya Sharma. Their journey began in the summer before junior year with a few iPhone recordings and an idea. “We decided to start this podcast because we both had interest in mental health,” Diya says. “Our stories individually were so different, but they overlapped with the idea of mental health and giving it to a bigger audience.” Mental Health Is Personal The show is rooted in lived experience. “For example, if a girl is smiling to the world, happy, seems like the most bubbly person in the world—it's not true,” Diya says. “She might be dealing with the most deepest things herself, and she's afraid to tell other people.” “And that's another reason we started this podcast,” she adds. “Because the idea of You Are Not Alone means that we're a community, and we're going to support one another.” From Voice Memos to Broadcast Airwaves At first, the show was as DIY as it gets. “We would just record on our phones,” Diya recalls. “Obviously it’s not as great editing as we have here at the studio, but it was a start.” They cold-emailed professors and local figures to ask about everything from ADHD to the psychological impact of injury and trauma. “Sometimes we would have to send five emails to five different people just to get one episode,” Brannagh says. Eventually, with encouragement from a teacher and a few inspiring guests, they were connected with WDIY's Youth Media Program. “I brought my dad into the studio,” Brannagh says. “I was so excited about it. It feels so professional.” Standout Guests, Lasting Impact Two moments stood out from their time on the show. “David Robertson… he came on to talk about Joshua Tree,” Brannagh says. “It's for his little brother, who unfortunately passed away due to addiction… and he turned it into such a positive thing.” Their very first WDIY episode also left a mark. “His name is Herman,” Diya says. “He's an anesthesiologist and he has a prosthetic leg. The way he spoke and the things that he said were very inspirational.” What They've Learned “Even though situations aren't exactly the same,” Brannagh says, “we're still bringing attention to talking about the things that we go through.” Diya adds: “Everyone has physical health—and I think everyone has mental health, whether they recognize it or not. I think just normalizing that and talking about it is the first big step.” What's Next? Brannagh is heading to NYU to study liberal studies and political science or psychology before law school. Diya will attend UVA to study biology and pursue a career in medicine. But they're not finished with YANA LV. “Obviously, we can't come here and record at the studio,” Brannagh says, “but we'll keep YANA alive.” Follow LVwithLOVE on Substack

Episode Summary: It's Episode 105, and I'm calling this the Tony Womack episode—a tribute to a player I got to know personally while he was coaching my son's high school team. Womack brought incredible energy to the game, and I hope this episode captures some of that as we dive into all things Cubs. The Cubs are off to a hot 9-2 start in spring training, and while wins don't mean much in March, it's been exciting to see young players step up. Today, I tackle a listener mailbag, covering everything from bullpen battles, underrated hitters, and the Cubs' roster depth, to whether the front office made the right moves this offseason. Plus, I'm giving away five Cubs PS Plus hats to some lucky listeners! Key Topics Covered:
Steve Adams joins Darragh McDonald in an all-mailbag episode. They discuss many things including whether the Braves will really begin the season without acquiring more depth in their rotation or bullpen, why David Robertson remains unsigned, the possibility of a reunion between the Mets and Jose Iglesias after the recent injury to Nick Madrigal, how Justin Turner will fit onto the Cubs' roster, whether Jackson Jobe will win a rotation job in Detroit over Casey Mize and Kenta Maeda, if the Mariners are looking to trade Luis Castillo, and how deferrals don't actually skirt the luxury tax.
Welcome to Episode 62 of TableSetters! Today, we're joined by Jared Sandler, one of the radio and TV voices of the Texas Rangers on 105.3 The Fan & Rangers Sports Network. As the Rangers prepare for the 2025 season, Jared takes us behind the scenes with insight into the team's biggest storylines, fresh faces, and high expectations. We discuss Jared's journey from multi-sport athlete to broadcaster, his experience working alongside Ford C. Frick Award winner Eric Nadel, and what he learned from legends like Bob Uecker. Jared also shares what it was like being part of the Rangers' 2023 World Series-winning season and how last year's team differed from the championship squad. The conversation shifts to key players, including Jacob deGrom's return from injury and how critical he is to the Rangers' rotation. We examine Evan Carter's back issues and whether he can regain his 2023 form, as well as Wyatt Langford's next step in his development. Jared breaks down how additions like Joc Pederson and Jake Burger could impact the lineup and whether the Rangers' offseason moves have positioned them for another deep postseason run. We also discuss the closer situation following the losses of Kirby Yates and David Robertson, the potential role of Kumar Rocker in 2025, and which returning stars need bounce-back seasons for the Rangers to contend. Jared shares his thoughts on the Rangers' new streaming deal with Victory+ and how it affects the broadcast team. We also dive into broader baseball topics, including the biggest threats in the AL West and whether the Yankees are still the team to beat despite losing Juan Soto. To wrap things up, we discuss Jared's work with the Sandlot Children's Charity, his relationship with the passionate Rangers fanbase, and his personal broadcasting goals moving forward. Follow Jared on X @JaredSandler and catch him on Rangers broadcasts all season long. (00:00) The guys discuss Brad Marchand’s comments on the booing of the National Anthem, with Zolak and Bertrand agreeing that it’s disrespectful. (15:49) Zolak talks about the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees for Zoverdrive, and the guys argue that it’s no longer just about rock, especially with Mariah Carey getting nominated. (29:00) The crew talks about the infamous Billy Squier music video and his rise and fall in the music industry. They then debate with a caller about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with the caller questioning why Huey Lewis and the News hasn’t made it in. (40:38) The guys cap off the show with a fake promo, Valentine’s Day edition, from Derek in Foxboro from 2018.
The Cubs roster might smell like it's pretty well done (or it might smell like something you have to bag up at the dog park), but they are still being linked to a number of moves, including a trade for a former hot shot prospect of their own and a very old reliever that they had just a couple of years ago. Tom Loxas is on hand to discuss whether the Cubs are really serious about trading for Dylan Case (or his rotation mate Michael King), or signing David Robertson. Plus, the Alex Bregman thing still won't go away. Andy complains about the Cubs bench, which turns into a discussion about the best pinch hitters in Cubs history. Then they break down the Bears' new coordinators, and talk about how one expert thinks the offensive line rebuild is not as complicated as we might all think. All that, and much more.
Welcome back to the podcast! In Episode 101, I dive deep into how the Cubs are building their pitching staff, including rotation depth, bullpen construction, and the strategy behind their moves this offseason. Key Topics in This Episode:

When David Robertson discovered a mouse living in his minivan years ago, he knew it meant trouble. But what happened next - six weeks of Googling for information about mice, the viruses they carry, and the chances he might die from catching such an illness - was more than something a simple mousetrap could handle. It was indicative of the challenges Robertson faces every day, living with anxiety. On this episode of Paternal, Robertson discusses all the ways that anxiety has affected his life as an award-winning author and a husband and father of five kids. He also reflects on what role masculinity played in him hiding the seriousness of his mental health issues, his thoughts on group therapy and medication, and why he's chosen to use his platform to openly address mental health. Robertson is the author of the new memoir All the Little Monsters, which will be available Jan. 21 wherever you buy books.

What do LEGO, GoPro, and CarMax have in common? Wharton professor David Robertson says they all have a similar strategy for growth that involves building families of complementary innovations around a core product or service. Ben Lindbergh and Meg Rowley banter about Ben's daughter coining a baseball term, how the on-screen strike-zone plot (slightly) delays the rest of the broadcast, Jose Miranda and the surprising 12-consecutive-hits club, David Robertson's elite relief career, whether Shohei Ohtani should stop pitching, an attempt to quantify players' smiles, how this season stacks up in […]
We had a big night last night with the subway series and the Knicks trading for Mikal Bridges. Boomer said now it's time for the Rangers to make a move since they play in the same building. The NBA draft is tonight and there is no buzz at all. Some of the top players are international players we know nothing about. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the subway series last night. Boomer goes around the diamond and wants to know which team has the better player at each position. The Yankees loaded the bases with nobody out in the first and David Robertson struck out 3 straight. Mark Vientos hit two of the four home runs off Gerrit Cole. Vlad Jr suddenly is interested in the Yankees if they come calling. Jerry has reaction to the Knicks trade for Mikal Bridges from Evan Roberts. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from Knicks fans on the trade.
Hour 1 The Knicks traded for Mikal Bridges, adding yet another Villanova player from their championship team. Boomer called it a ‘5 star move'. Gio called it, ‘the perfect acquisition for the Knicks'. The Knicks will now have a full bench of players. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with reaction from the Knicks trade from Evan Roberts, noted Nets fan. Evan also revealed he doesn't use deodorant. The Mets hit four home runs off Gerrit Cole and beat the Yankees 9-7. Gleyber Torres had another bad game at the plate and in the field and he blamed his tight groin. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls on Mikal Bridges to the Knicks. Boomer said OG Anunoby has to be a Knick. Hour 2 We had a big night last night with the subway series and the Knicks trading for Mikal Bridges. Boomer said now it's time for the Rangers to make a move since they play in the same building. Vlad Jr suddenly is interested in the Yankees if they come calling. Jerry has reaction to the Knicks trade for Mikal Bridges from Evan Roberts. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from Knicks fans on the trade. Hour 3 Boomer has gifts for Gio and Jerry (I guess Al & Eddie are chopped liver). They are the new NHL jerseys made by Fanatics. The Mets beat the Yankees last night, 9-7 as Mark Vientos hit two home runs off Gerrit Cole. Gleyber Torres had another bad game at the plate and in the field. He blamed a groin injury, but he honestly looks disinterested. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Mets beating the Yankees thanks to four home runs off Gerrit Cole. Sal Licata wants to ‘tickle' Juan Soto as a Mets fan. Hunter Green of the Reds vomited on the mound in the first inning. Tommy Lugauer took to Twitter after the Mets beat the Yankees. He also said, ‘this is why I'm the future, this is why I'm a generational talent'. Evan Roberts screamed about fans telling him about the Mikal Bridges trade while he was at the Mets game. Stephen A. Smith reacts to the Bridges trade. In the final segment of the hour, Gio wonders where Jay Wright is since Stephen Waldron at CBS promised him to us as a guest. Hour 4 Audacy is having a pride month town hall tomorrow and an actor from the broadway show Aladdin will be here. Gio knows the actor because his daughter used to watch his stuff non stop during Covid. Gio thought about all the terrible things he had to watch with his daughter during Covid just to keep her from screaming. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Brandon Tierney made a very strange noise with his mouth. We also talked about Joe Benigno and the Golden Girls. Gio wonders if the Nets could bring Caitlin Clark in as a marketing gimmick to get people to care since they traded away Bridges. The Moment of The Day involves Sal wanting to ‘tickle' Juan Soto. In the final segment of the show, The Chiefs and Hallmark are teaming up for a holiday movie. We also talked about Bill Belichick and his young girlfriend. Gio is not bothered by it because they are both adults, but if his daughter brings home a 72 year old when she's 24 that would throw him off.

Casey & Chinch were shot out of a cannon today with some fun storylines including: Carlos Correa's 5-hit game and post-homer Prince celebration. Casey tells a sick story about his own 5-hit games and we give love to Royce Lewis and tell the back story to how the Prince celebration started. JD Martinez has over 300 Big Flies so the guys were both shocked at how last night was his first walk off. Plus, don't look now but the Mets may be in line for a little run over the next few weeks. Plus, David Robertson did something amazing last night. He K'd Betts/Ohtani/Freeman, bang-bang-bang in a row! We talk about how insane that is and why Robertson needs to frame that boxscore. All that plus a Happy Father's Day to everyone out there! Join us and make sure you're subscribing to our Youtube page right here! : https://youtu.be/ggFssmLKLaw
On this Memorial Day, we are proud to introduce the newest limited series from the Institute for Religion, Media, and Civic Engagement and Axis Mundi Media. Miss Information is a podcast about how conspiracies and misinformation infiltrate wellness communities and religious spaces. Subscribe here: https://redcircle.com/shows/21b4b512-ceef-4289-b9fc-76f302f5bd22/episodes/3532f1b2-5f15-4302-82f6-8a281d676871 Misinformation is big news, but what does it mean and why does it matter? If misinformation is simply incorrect information, can it be solved simply by telling people the right answer? In this episode, we learn how misinformation can prevent people from voting if they think they aren't eligible or can't vote by mail; how misinformation can convince people to take certain drugs to cure a disease even if it's not proven to be safe; and the ways misinformation can draw people into conspiracies like QAnon. But it's not as simple as dispelling all misinformation from our midst. That seems impossible. Rather, in dialogue with Dr. David Robertson from the Open University, what we will discover points to a different question: Why do people believe misinformation at all and what does it do for them? In other words, instead of focusing on what people believe, perhaps the phenomenon of misinformation directs us to ask what beliefs do - who they favor, who they put in power, who they marginalize, and who they leave vulnerable. And by understanding the mechanics, maybe we can mitigate the damage misinformation does to our public square.
