How does one become, in my opinion, the greatest mind in ballistics today? For Bryan Litz, it's always been about hitting targets. Bryan's passion led him to earn a degree in Aerospace Engineering, followed by a stint working as a civilian contractor for the U.S. Air Force on Air-to-air missile design, modeling and simulation. He's a champion rifle shooter, a published author and currently the Chief Ballistician for Berger Bullets. Bryan's own company, Applied Ballistics, is dedicated to being a complete and unbiased source of external ballistics information for long range shooters. In this episode, Bryan answers listener questions as we cover everything that might affect your accuracy on the range or in the field. If you want a deep-dive into the esoteric world of long-range shooting, grab a pencil and get ready to take notes as host Brent T. Wheat goes back to school speaking with ballistic experts Bryan Litz and Emil Praslick of Berger Bullets. Litz is considered one of the brightest ballistic minds in the world, while Praslik has 20 championships under his belt as a shooting coach. Together, there isn't much the duo doesn't know about what happens to a bullet from the time it leaves the muzzle until it impacts the target, regardless of range. On this show we will take a deep dive into Berger's No BS BC campaign and discuss and take a deep dive into how BC, consistency, accuracy, and wind effects shot placement. Words can not describe the amount of knowledge in this episode!
The Everyday Sniper: Berger No BS BC with Bryan Litz & Emil Praslick Part 3 Part 3 of the Berger No BS BC Campaign this is combined with articles posted on the Berger Website. Stop by to see their new products and articles from Bryan. In this episode, Bryan talks about the effects of a BC at both long and short ranges in terms of accuracy. We look at Precision in terms of group size and accuracy based on the location of the group center. So with this in mind, listen to Bryan break this down. We move from bullet BCs to some wind deflection talk, before heading over to the .22 rimfire discussion. I really wanted to hit on 22s as they are so popular and this conversation is a masterclass. Thanks to Bryan and Emil for participating and answering all your questions and to Capstone / Berger / Lapua for making them both available. #snipershide #everdaysniperpodcast #practicalmarksmanship.
How does a bullet kill? There are different theories, different opinions, and different bullet designs. Today we're speaking with Garett Stoddard from Berger Bullets to understand how Berger bullets are designed and constructed to perform on game. Garett is an engineer that has spent a lot of time studying bullet design and terminal performance, and as a hunter himself, also puts his research to the test in the field. This discussion on Terminal Ballistics (a bullet's performance on game) is a great follow-up to our recent conversation with Bryan Litz in Episode 223, which was all about External Ballistics (a bullet's performance in flight). It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to understand bullet performance. Or does it? Bryan Litz is a scientist, shooter, and ballistician. He quite literally "wrote the book" on external ballistics and informed what we know about the flight and performance of bullets. Bryan joins us in this episode to breakdown the concept of BC (Ballistic Coefficient) and what this number on your box of bullets or ammunition means for you as a hunter and shooter. We discuss what BC is, how it is measured, when and why it matters for hunters, and more... To dive even deeper into this topic, visit https://NoBSBC.com. You can also check out Bryan's books and other resources at https://AppliedBallisticsLLC.com/ If you have questions about this topic or anything else you want to hear about on future podcasts, let us know by emailing podcast@exomtngear.com https://exomtngear.com/podcast
