TheHide.TV Everyday Sniper Podcast, Monday Morning Coffee Just got back from Traveling and I wanted to do a simulcast of the Everyday Sniper Podcast on the Hide so you can watch this or listen to it.  In this episode I talk Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation, Laura and I attended this event in Virginia and really enjoyed it.  The Round Robin events they had were super fun.  It was Fishing, Skeet Shooting, Pistol Shooting and then to Bow.  Then I went to Spear Mountain to Visit the Major Land Sniper Cup location.  I helped with the course of fire.  The goal of this visit was to make the Major Land event more efficient.   I simplified the course of fire to not only hopefully fix the flow, but to fix the way you ID targets and maybe the way we use the Range Officers.   I really think people will like the changes I made to it. Super straight forward.   Lastly My barrels for the 6 ARC are here !  I can not move forward with my 6mm ARC bolt gun project and pair it alongside the 6ARC Gas Guns.  But don't forget the live streams are available. Hey Everyday Sniper Fans,  Welcome to the TheHide.TV podcast, and in this episode I again simulcast to the Hide TV Page, but more importantly, I talk bullet weights. We just got in from the Range on a Windy week out here on the front range.  And with the new Detroit Gun Works rifle I was checking different load weights to see which performed the best.   After testing the 100gr Hornady VT and the 130gr Norma Golden Target where the two best performers.   I wanted to see which bullet had the best balance of speed and performance.  Both the 100gr and 130gr Bullets were the best load wise.  I mentioned a couple of articles Chris wrote, I want to link them here:  Wheel of Time -  Time of Flight  Choosing the Right Bullet  Remember these aren't events but a process to use Marc's words, so we want to experiment and see what works for our style of shooting. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of the everyday sniper podcast

TheHide.TV Everyday Sniper Podcast: Paul Craddock Interview    I get to geek out a bit, I am interviewing Paul Craddock today. Ever since the Valkyrie I have been fanboying window shopping Craddock Precision ARs. Since was planning a 6 ARC project, I wanted to pair that 6 ARC bolt gun with a 6 ARC gas gun to see the pipeline. What's the accuracy, what the ranges, how does it perform on command like a competition rifle ?  The Terminus Zeus in 6 ARC is here, the Zermatt Matterhorn is here, now to pair with a gas gun.  The interview Paul is a great background. We learn the history of Craddock Precision, Paul's gun building philosophy. How he approaches the AR15, AR10 which might be different from the other guys.  A great example is roughly 15 different gas lengths.   I want to thank Nick for putting us together, this conversation flowed. It moved in a nice logical direction touching on the ins and outs of a gas gun. From Valkyrie to ARC, to larger Frame ARs, we touch on it all.  As always, thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper podcast.

TheHide.TV  Everyday Sniper Podcast, Ultimate Hunter Challenge Recap.  We traveled to Cameo in Palisade Colorado, just off I-70. This is a State run shooting facility in the tabletop mountains of Colorado. Awesome venue if you have never been I cannot recommend it enough.  I had a super enjoyable time at this competition. It fit my style and mindset very well.  It's find it, range it, engage it. That is practical that is real world.  My final result was a 20th which I explain and talk about, I was very happy with that result.  Shot a Terminus Apollo Lite in 65PRC. It has a Bartlein Carbon Fiber barrel, 24" with an MDT Competition brake, 4 port.  I had a Zeiss 4-24x with an AREA419 Mount, and the MDT HTN26 stock that had an Atlas CAL with Extension.  Ammo was a factory Hornady 143gr ELDX.  Very straight forward, I like the enforcement of the rules at the match and think everything was practical. Practical is good, as is the consistency of the enforcement of the rules.  I think Walt and Austin did an amazing job with the match making it challenging, fair, and enjoyable to shoot. They were the perfect hosts.  Be sure to check out the site, video is up, HideTV is working.

Each class had its own unique challenges that in the end, opened my mind to new possibilities.  We tested a lot of variations for classes as well as several tools like using a Starlink system to access the internet on the range.  All these tools will enhance the Hide TV experience which is my end goal.  On top of providing the very best training possible.  With Podcast season starting up, expect at least 2 episodes a week and at least one of them to be simulcast live on Hide TV.  These will have lesson, guest speakers and more. Follow a build-and-break sequence for each shot to simulate hunting conditions. Sequence: Build and Break Shots: Shoot from the three most likely positions you anticipate using during the hunt—three shots each, totaling 12 shots. Measuring Group Size at 100 Yards 1. Shoot a Group of 12 Shots: Perform the sequence of 12 build-and-break shots described above at 100 yards, ensuring shots are equally distributed across the three most likely positions you anticipate using during the hunt. 2. Measure the Widest Shot: Measure the distance in mils from the center to the farthest shot in each position's group. This measurement is your group size. 3. Record the Group Size: Note this value as your group size in the shot bracket calculation worksheet. Nick asked if I would open to having Bob Beck from Extreme Outer Limits on the show, which of course.  After a short back and forth, we landed, Nick, Bob and Eric on the Everyday Sniper podcast to talk about the transition during the initial moments they bought Defiance through today.  Areas of discussion with this episode include:  Initial Purchase of McMillan Stocks  The Decision to Purchase Defiance  The Reality of buying Defiance  The Initial Fallout of buying Defiance  Where Defiance is today  Where Defiance will go on July 1 2024   There is a little bit of business talk when it comes too the financial reality of buying Defiance Actions, however this adds important context to the steps that were taken immediately afterward that angered the shooting community  This was an honest and open discussion, I did not feel anyone was overly defensive which to me was a good sign.  And the anticipation of what they are doing moving forward as well as a look where they need to be as a team player. The key was Builder Network, how does a company supply and manage the builder network as that is where the problems arise. Delays in stocks, delays in actions, delays in barrels all add up. The model is support the builder network with best practices moving forward and it looks like they have a plan. The Everyday Sniper Podcast: NF ELR Match, 1st Time Shooter  Welcome to the Everyday Sniper podcast, we have an awesome episode for everyone. So the NF ELR Match in WY is one of the most popular ELR Matches in the country.  Every Year Accuracy International visits my range to dope their rifles and this year they went 1, 2. 3...  So wanting to participate in ELR Competition Chris Way of RifleKraft Fame decided to throw his hat into the ring.  Chris is an accomplished competitor with enough Hardware to my Ace blush, so it was interesting to watch his work up for this event given he had life smack in the forehead before he even got started.  So let's listen to Chris' ELR Journey as a first time competitor at the NF ELR Match.  Life comes at you fast so be flexible is what I can say about the first part. You have to decide, do I stay or do I go, isn't that the million dollar question?   Then, when thrown a curve, as in my data doesn't match my ranges what do you do?  Do you fold and go home or do you adjust and persevere ?  In the end it's the experience right, taking a big swing with the bat in an effort to gain as much as possible or just be another man on the line.  Chris gives you all the details as he recorded every piece of data imaginable as he followed the ELR Path down that endless rabbit hole we call shooting.  Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Cole Quarnberg and TeamPOI  Welcome to the everyday sniper podcast, on today's episode I have Cole Quarnberg from TeamPOI, actually Cole wears a lot of hats and we talk about a bunch of them.  This is bit, a state of the industry when it comes to marketing, the internet and our gun industry. It's a bit strange how the gun industry will at the same time protect itself at all costs while eating its own.  You hate to see it, but it's reality of the world we live in.   We spent some time talking about his acquisition of Straight Jacket Armory and the changes he is making there.  Before Cole took over operations at SJA, there was a few customer service issues.  From there our discussion turned to how you make changes and handle a business in 2024 when a customer can go right to the internet to complain before they ever call for a solution.  It's a weird dynamic and very real one I deal with over at Sniper's Hide.  On the one hand we love our manufacturers, on the other hand we have to resist the want to burn them down when things don't go our way.  Cole is a solid individual who is looking to do right by his customers and this industry.  Thanks for Cole for coming on the Podcast, addressing issues from the forum and laying out a path forward for not just his customers, but anyone who wants to do better. Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Quick & To the Point  Hey Everyone in Podcast Land, welcome to the Everyday Sniper Podcast. In this episode get right to the climate change problem by explaining the heating of the Earth is coming from inside the House.  After I finish my conspiracy theory discussion on Climate Change I jump right into shooting talk over the Leupold Mk4HD.  I have a Leupold Mk4HD 6-24x52mm Scope mounted on my GAP Production Rifle with Manners Tunable Stock. Have I mentioned how much I love the Manners Tunable Stock and think it's the best stock on the market. Anyhow, I mounted the Leupold Mk4HD on the Manners Tunable GAP Production Rifle so now I have to go out and shoot it.  From the Manners Tunable to Kraft Quick Wind. In order to dope the wind, you need to know what the Effective Wind Speed is.  Now Effective Wind is different from a straight up wind call. The effective wind is telling you what the wind along with the angle is actually doing. Once you have the Effective Wind, using Quick Wind becomes super easy.  The Class schedule is located on Sniper's Hide in the Training Course Announcement Section iso be sure to stop on by to see what our class schedule looks like.  We have Fort Morgan, Cameo, Black Bear Virginia is opened up.  We'll be crisscrossing the United States again this year.  As always, thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Ted Hoeger's European Shooting Vacation  Zoom Call today, Ted Hoeger from Iowa, past student, friend of the podcast. Ted he traveled to Norway and Italy to shoot some European PRS events.  Getting Ted's insights into the travel, logistics, atmosphere, weapons used was super valuable information and too good to pass up,  Ted is compiling information so US Shooters can find everything necessary to travel to Europe safely and successfully to shoot their PRS style events.  Hearing all this from a source is super important, him wanting to make it every 2 years is even cooler.   The Norway event was 3 days and traveled to 3 different venues which is super unique.  That sounds too cool for words. No home range advantage when you have 3 different looks for terrain.  Big props to the Norway Match Director, he sounds like a big thinker if you ask me.  Ted's next stop was to Italy, I have spoke to Davide over there and I am very familiar with his work. They are big time building a solid shooting community, and really that is what it is all about, community vs the individual.  I find Davide's leadership inspiring and his commitment to education is to be commended on every level.  Finally I go on my typical rant, I have high respect for Ted, and don't want to put him on the spot, but I feel he is well placed to make a few minor changes.  I don't do it to be ugly, I do it to improve the overall experience here in the US. The fact that I don't want to shoot anything in the South East bothers me, I should want to shoot everything and I don't.  That's said.  But thank you Ted, I really appreciate you taking your time, spending it with me on the computer.  Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a big part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Chris & Frank April After Action  Hey All Everyday Sniper People, Chris and Frank here, we just got off a great first class, and wanted to talk about it.  We had groups of students for our first RifleKraft - Sniper's Hide 3 Day Training Event and it was just about picture perfect.  We had awesome weather, in fact it was like the weather was paying attention to our lessons and it was helping us.  We had the perfect set of students too, the right amount to variation in experience levels to max out our side of the equation.  We started out with the fundamentals, I did a short presentation on the high points of that, at which point we went to 100 yards and Shot paper.  We created a nice set of drills to build the shooter from prone to tripod and back.  These were designed to fix technique and increase precision.  From there we took them out to steel.   The second day we another quick presentation, Chris talked the Kraft Quick Wind method, and then immediately out shooting in the 12-18MPH winds so the main change, no disconnect from the lesson to the drill.  We are not talking a concept and waiting a day to shooter like was my method before.  The KQW just plain works too... yes I am being cagey about the Kraft Quick Wind, because we to solidify it as Chris' before it goes widespread.  Too many like appropriate other people ideas out there.   The 3rd day was just plain fun, we started with Gravity Ballistics which we used, but not in the same way.  The winds were way too strong to try and do the worksheets in the wind.  So on Sunday we had mellow conditions and it made working the Gravity Ballistics so much better.   It's just a solid way of doping a rifle.   Awesome time, excellent class, I appreciate all the students and the work Chris put into the effort.  More to come so again, thanks for listening, thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast.  Now get out and shoot !   Frank Snipers Hide

Short answer, very little you should borrow it.  I always recommend hitting 3 matches to experience it before investing in equipment.  Later I address some Facebook drama taking place. This week some micro mind tried to cancel me. Welcome to the New Season of the Everyday Sniper Podcast, in this episode I want to talk about our Training philosophy and pushing that last 10%.  The Everyday Sniper Podcast:That last 10%  Chris and I have restarted doing some Sniper's Hide Videos and you can find them in the usual places like Rumble & YouTube, so be sure to check them out.  But in doing these videos we are looking at the why as well as cause and affect.   Like most things in life, there is a reason why things happens.  Shooting is an "If" - "Than" experience,  if you do this, then this will happen.  So with our new videos we are looking at that relationship between you and your rifle.  Small things matter, and I encourage you to watch these recent videos as they ask you to answer the question for yourself. What do you need to do with your rifle set up in order to execute the perfect shot ?  Take the bags we use, Most people shoot with a Game Changer today because they want that one bag solution.  But first off, the Game Changer is a front rest and not a rear bag, but we also understand compromise.  Using the Game Changer is a compromise, so you have to know what can happen if you use the bag in a variety of different ways.  Not every result is the same, so check out the video. It's about bringing the little things to the shooter,  pushing you past that last 10% as that is the hardest obstacle to climb.  Get over that plateau, moving beyond 30th place, it's the focus the drive needed to cross that imaginary line of the last 10%,  Push yourself further by trying what we are putting down.   Thanks for listening, thanks for sharing and thanks for being a part of the Everyday Sniper Podcast
