With the passing of former Astros player and hitting coach Denis Menke, Host Robert Land brings in former Astros Broadcaster and KTRH Radio Sports Talk Host Jerry Trupiano to share memories of his relationship with Menke. Trupiano looks at what made Menke such a good hitting coach on those mid 80's Astro teams and how Menke's prowess as an All-Star player has been forgotten. Plus, Trupiano shares a story about the late Astro Hall of Famer Joe Morgan, who we also lost this year. Nothing Personal with David Samson
Remembering the life of Joe Morgan; Will Jerry Jones pay Dak Prescott now? (10/12)

Let's start today's show by remembering the life of Hall of Famer Joe Morgan. He died today at the age of 77. 10-time All-Star, two-time MVP, two-time World Series Champion... what a career and what a life..... (0:06) Today's word of the day is 'risk tolerance' as in how much risk is Jerry Jones willing to tolerate. Dak Prescott underwent surgery for a compound fracture of his ankle and his season is over. The Dallas Cowboys QB will miss the rest of the season... a season in which he is playing under the franchise tag, and not a long-term deal (3:48). BREAKING NEWS! BREAKING NEWS! Rick Renteria has been fired by the Chicago White Sox. Very surprising news (14:03). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me what I thought about LeBron James legacy after winning his 4th title with three different teams. So let's talk about the GOAT discussion and where it stands today (20:20). Review - Emily In Paris (28:50). We're finally getting to the ALCS. The Tampa Bay Rays bullpen absolutely shut down the Houston Astros offense. What does it mean for the series (32:05)? What about in the NLCS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves (36:20)? We'll end today's show with some more NFL news because it never ends. The NFL has completely changed the schedule after more positive tests forced the league to postponed and reschedule games. Patriots DB Jason McCourty sounded off on the NFL and NFLPA. Does Roger Goodell or the NFL care about this (41:30)? #waittosee --------------------------- 'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts.   Follow David on Twitter: @DavidPSamson  To watch David on CBS Sports HQ visit https://www.cbssports.com/live/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ https://www.youtube.com/nothingpersonalwithdavidsamson Learn more about your ad choices. By a margin of 49% - 35%, Americans have said “no” to the inclusion of Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The two have not yet been elected by the Baseball Writers, who are voting now for the 2018 inductees.  Both seemingly had Hall of Fame credentials even before their linkage to performance enhancing drugs.  The poll also showed Americans agreeing with Hall of Famer Joe Morgan, who sent a letter to voters saying players named as PED users should not be elected.  62% supported Morgan’s position, with only 26% opposing.
