Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Tuesday. Munaf Manji and Dave Essler sit down on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, opening at 00:11 with a plan to run through the day's baseball card before turning to the next NFL win total on the board, the Buffalo Bills at ten and a half. Essler joins at 00:50 fresh off a rough night with a Braves team total, then lights up over a Frank Thomas rookie card pull from a fresh box, sparking a short conversation about grading costs, centering, and how AI and celebrity involvement have pushed the trading card market toward pricier autographed, numbered parallels. At 02:25, Manji delivers a scheduling note, confirming this is the final week of the show before it shifts into its football format, with a Thursday props pod, a college football podcast alongside Lante, a Monday morning recap paired with a Monday Night Football preview, and a full weekend preview show on Fridays taking its place, while the current format returns after the new year. The baseball breakdown begins at 04:13 with the Yankees at the Orioles, Carlos Rodon opposing Shane Baz at a total of eight and a half, where Essler leans toward the Yankees team total while Manji sides with Baltimore on the moneyline, pointing to New York's struggles with runners in scoring position and Rodon's recent return from the injured list. At 08:09, the Blue Jays visit the Rays, Jose Soriano against Nick Martinez at seven and a half, with both hosts warming to Toronto behind Soriano's strong two starts and a struggling Tampa Bay bullpen. At 12:16, the Tigers travel to Pittsburgh to face the Pirates, Keter Montero opposite Braxton Ashcraft at a total of eight, where Essler favors a first five under while Manji likes Detroit's plus money given its league best road record since the All Star break. At 17:06, the Padres meet the Mets, Robbie Ray against Zack Thornton at eight and a half, with both hosts landing on the first five over given shaky command from both starters. At 21:16, the card closes with the Mariners in Milwaukee against the Brewers, Bryce Miller opposing Kyle Harrison at seven and a half, where Manji highlights Miller's poor road form and a Sunday Night Baseball fade angle to back the Brewers team total over three and a half. Essler runs down the rest of the day's slate at 25:36 before the conversation turns to football at 29:23, where the hosts dig into the Buffalo Bills win total of ten and a half. They walk through a 12 and 5 season a year ago, an AFC East runner up finish behind New England, a wild card win over Jacksonville, and an overtime divisional round exit in Denver, before previewing new head coach Joe Brady, the addition of DJ Moore at receiver, and a defense under new coordinator Jim Leonard that both hosts see as the swing factor for the season. They break down the schedule in detail, from the Week 1 trip to Houston through a manageable home stretch, a West Coast swing, and a difficult December run, ultimately agreeing the over is the right side if Josh Allen stays healthy. At 39:22, the hosts remind listeners about the pregame.com picks package and a seasonal discount before wrapping with best bets at 41:38, Essler backing the Astros team total over four and a half against the Angels and Manji sticking with the Brewers team total over three and a half against the Mariners. The show closes at 46:08 with Essler hoping his card collection has one more gem waiting inside, and Manji confirming the crew returns tomorrow with more picks and analysis as the season rolls on toward the football schedule ahead. Munaf Manji talks betting for Monday. Munaf Manji runs the Monday, August 10 edition of Cash That Ticket on his own, with Dave Essler away handling personal matters and expected back Tuesday, when the show will also tackle the next NFL win total as preseason opens this week. Munaf opens with an honest look at a rough recent stretch for baseball wagering, both on the podcast and for his clients on Pregame.com, pointing to Sunday's setback as the latest example. He had backed the Brewers at minus one and a half with Jacob Misiorowski on the mound, only to watch Kody Clemens hit a two run home run that tied the game and forced extra innings. Milwaukee won outright but the run line ticket fell short. Friday's Best Bet podcast fared better, cashing on the Cleveland Guardians moneyline with Parker Messick starting. Munaf also touches on the Dodgers, who snapped a losing streak over the weekend only to fall again on Sunday against the Diamondbacks, where Eduardo Rodriguez worked seven strong innings against a Los Angeles offense he calls shockingly quiet given the roster's talent. From there, Munaf runs his weekly standings check, noting the Rays hold a five and a half game lead over the Yankees in the American League East while the Red Sox slide to seven games back after dropping their weekend series to the Athletics. The White Sox lead the Tigers by three and a half games in the AL Central, and the AL West sits as the league's tightest race, with the Astros up half a game on the Rangers and the Mariners four back in a division where every team carries a negative run differential. In the National League, the Braves hold an eight and a half game lead over the Phillies, the Brewers are up five and a half on the Cubs, and the Dodgers remain seven and a half games clear of the Diamondbacks despite their recent stumble. Munaf then works through five matchups on the Monday card. Sonny Gray and the Red Sox visit Jameson Taillon and the Blue Jays, with Gray's strong road and night splits pushing Munaf toward Boston on the moneyline despite a rocky recent history against this Toronto lineup. Christian Scott and Bryce Elder headline Mets at Braves, where a surging Mets offense and warm, carrying conditions in Atlanta have Munaf leaning to the over. Andrew Painter continues to scuffle for the Phillies against Hunter Dobbins and the Cardinals, and with a bullpen Munaf calls putrid over the last month, he leans to the over, whether through the first five innings or the full game. Logan Henderson gets the assignment for the Brewers against Casey Mize and the Padres, and between Henderson's dominant recent form and a Sunday Night Baseball fade trend that favors Milwaukee, Munaf names this his best bet of the show, the Brewers moneyline at minus 115. Blade Tidwell makes just his second career start for the Giants opposite Hayden Wesneski and the Astros, and rather than lay heavy juice on a shorthanded Houston lineup, Munaf leans to the over. He credits Yordan Alvarez with carrying the top of the Astros order while Jose Altuve works through a down year, with Jeremy Peña, Cam Smith, and Daulton Varsho all contributing. Before wrapping, Munaf previews tonight's marquee pitching matchup, Tarik Skubal for the Dodgers against Noah Cameron and the Royals, calling it the best chance yet for a struggling Los Angeles offense to turn things around given Skubal's strong recent history against Kansas City. Munaf closes with a reminder about the Pregame.com Bulk Dollars promotion, twenty dollars for one hundred Bulk Dollars that can be spent like cash across any best bet package and never expires, even though the promotion window itself closes at midnight tonight. He signs off hoping Dave Essler returns Tuesday and that the next episode arrives with a winning best bet already in hand, wishing listeners good luck with their bets and encouraging them to enjoy the games. Jason Benetti returns to Is This A Great Game, Or What?, and this time he has another impressive title to add to his résumé: host of Sunday Night Baseball on NBC. Alongside his role as the Detroit Tigers' play-by-play broadcaster, Jason is now taking his talents to a national audience every week, and we couldn't be happier for one of the best in the business. That said... we don't spend much time talking baseball. Instead, we dive into Jason's marching band days (yes, he played the tuba), his love of trivia and game shows, and how those passions helped shape him into the broadcaster he is today. Then, somehow, Yellowcard enters the conversation—and if you know this podcast, you know things go off the rails in all the right ways. Former guest Kevin Brown joins the conversation as we look back on their days together in Minor League Baseball. We also swap stories about Bill Walton, Roger Clemens, and John Kruk, making for another unforgettable conversation with this future (one-day) Hall of Fame broadcaster. Munaf Manji talks betting for Monday. A new week of baseball betting opens with a full breakdown of the Monday MLB card, starting with a look back at a tough finish to last week when a Diamondbacks team total fell one run short, and rolling into a heavy dose of Sunday scoring across the league that set up several of Monday's angles, including a detailed look at how teams coming off Sunday Night Baseball perform in their next game on the road, a trend that has favored the over at a rate above seventy percent across multiple seasons and puts a red hot Phillies offense in a fascinating spot against a Miami Marlins team that has dropped twelve straight games, with Zach Wheeler's dominant season and long track record against Miami weighed against Tyler Phillips and his much stronger home numbers, landing on a total rather than a side. From there the card moves to Pittsburgh, where a shaky Merrill Kelly has quietly turned things around over his last four outings while Mitch Keller continues to struggle at home and at night, pointing toward a first five innings total with an eye on rain chances around first pitch. The headline matchup of the day sends Max Scherzer back to the mound for Toronto after more than a month and a half on the injured list, and his rough underlying numbers this season, paired with a well worn trend of fading pitchers fresh off the injured list and a Washington offense that just put up double digit runs, form the basis of the day's featured best bet on the Nationals team total. Atlanta and New York also get a full look, with Ronald Acuna Jr still working back from a leg issue and Juan Soto sidelined for a month or more, while Mets starter Zach Thornton has quietly turned in one of the best individual seasons in the rotation despite getting almost no run support, setting up a first five innings lean toward New York. Out west, Houston and the Angels both trot out starters who have battled control issues all year, suggesting a game that could be decided by which lineup stays patient and draws walks rather than which arm dominates, with a lean toward the total and a slight preference for the home side. A quick tour through the rest of the schedule touches on a heavy favorite in Cincinnati, the Yankees rolling into Chicago as a big favorite, and matchups on the west coast rounding out the night, before closing with a reminder about a football season ticket package covering every pick through the Super Bowl and National Championship for a flat price using a promo code. The episode wraps with the day's single best bet, a team total angle built on a struggling former ace returning from injury and an offense trending in the right direction, delivered in the same straightforward, numbers first style that runs through the rest of the breakdown, mixing pitcher splits, home and road trends, and situational betting angles into one complete rundown of everything worth knowing before locking in a Monday ticket. Today, Sean Fitzgerald will be dissecting the current State of MLB.It's been an interesting year in Major League Baseball, specifically in the American League, where heading into July, only five teams were above the .500 mark and one of those teams were … The Chicago White Sox, a team who two years ago won a grand total of 41 games. The last few seasons have seen major rule changes to impact the pace of play. This year, the MLB instituted an automatic ball-strike, or abs, challenge system, where teams could challenge pitches they thought were called wrong by the umpire. Each team gets two challenges per game through nine innings (one in extra innings), and if they win their challenge, they retain it.This year also saw the introduction of MLB's new media rights deal, which see's Netflix take over Opening Night and the Home Run Derby, NBC acquiring Sunday Night Baseball and the Wild Card Round from ESPN to broadcast MLB for the first time since 2000 (excluding Peacock's return in 2022). The elephant in the room is the impending collective bargaining agreement that is set to expire following the 2026 MLB season. There is a push from owners to implement a salary floor and a salary cap, something players have vehemently pushed back against, setting up a potential lockout and the possibility of baseball not being played in 2027, especially if the World Series is once again won by the Los Angeles Dodgers for the third straight year, the team who currently has the best record in the sport.Brandon's World is in collaboration with Voltage Live, Founded in 2021, Voltage Live aims to bring a diverse set of content to people around the world.Check out Voltage Live: https://voltagelive.com/Check out Brandon on Championship Rings, a debate show on YouTube where Brandon and Josh Ungar debate the latest happenings in sports and professional wrestling, every Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET: https://www.youtube.com/@ChampionshipRings216Brandon's World Links:Follow the show on X: https://x.com/real_bworldFollow Brandon on X: https://x.com/brandonlewis_7Follow Brandon on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lewisbrandon25/Follow Brandon on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@real_bworldFollow Brandon on Substack: https://substack.com/profile/85177727-brandon-lewisSubscribe to the show on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOAJ-oar5uDLFKlL1rs6CwQ

Episode 627: A series win for the Red Sox feels like a confusing process in 2026. Stories about the Sox have given the guys plenty of news to react to, and the latest batch continues to highlight just how dysfunctional the front office has become. Sam Kennedy's quotes about selling in early June brought the reality of the season into sharp focus, leaving the boys asking whether simply winning series is what fans should even want for the rest of the year. The team's recent form won't stop Jared, Steve, and Tyler from heading to AMB. They recap their latest Fenway Friday experience—including an interview that will be released soon! Trade rumors continue to swirl, highlighted by Aroldis Chapman calling out Yankees GM Brian Cashman. Willson Contreras has carried the Red Sox on his back all season, and the crew weighs the risk of trading him while he still has control left on his contract. The Tartan Army's takeover of Fenway during Sunday Night Baseball took center stage, sparking a plea to bring them back for the next series against the Blue Jays. Ian tells us about his weekend and he had a great time at Cheney Stadium watching the Rainiers. He pays tribute to what Tacoma does to create an awesome environment for the fans. The Mariners are inconsistent, which might be their best attribute right now. There is a net positive from getting guys healthy, but the lack of offensive production throughout the Padres sweep in Seattle is troubling. The AL West allows the Mariners to sleepwalk through this division, so that's good news - but they need to get it going. The NFL schedule is out, and Ian is wondering why the league even doesn't know why they bother doing a huge show on the NFL Network when the leaks let us know what games will happen. Ian tells you what he thinks about the matchups and dates we see on the Seahawks' schedule. The NFL made some good decisions when it comes to primetime.12:45 - Ian likes the changeup with NBC/Peacock doing Sunday Night Baseball. However, he takes issues with some points made. Mollywhop Monday! Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop join to breakdown the Mariners getting swept by the Padres this weekend. How fair is the criticism toward Dan Wilson right now? Chris has plenty to say about it right now but also doesn't think the team will make a change right now. Chris says he would consider it because Wilson isn't making them better right now. Nathan brings up all the positive things we're seeing at the plate and in the field, and despite the losses we're seeing, there's plenty to be happy about. Nathan also weighs in on Dan Wilson. There are plenty of stats that back up the poor performance of Wilson as a manager. Chris and Nathan discuss the handling of Cal Raleigh's injury and what that looks like moving forward. Mollywhop finishes off to discuss Colt Emmerson and what the realistic expectations for him as he just recently got called up. They preview the series with the White Sox. Ian wraps up our Mollywhop conversation and doesn't like to call for people's jobs, but this is going to be a serious series for Dan Wilson with the White Sox. The team can't scuffle right now, but it's not necessarily all on Dan Wilson. Aaron Rai wins the PGA Championship, and Ian pays tribute to what he did this weekend, as well as what his family did for him growing up. Ian finally gets to break down the Seahawks schedule as it was released last week. He takes issue with the fact they're ending their season for the third straight year on back-to-back road games. We check in on the talkbacks and texts and finally, talk to Softy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
