Today is a day to remember a friend and a key figure in American soccer. Yesterday was the two year anniversary of the passing of Grant Wahl. The American soccer journalist died while covering the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar suffering a heart aneurysm while attending Argentina's win over the Netherlands. He was 49 years old. Grant's impact on the game is still being felt to this very day as more than two decades as one of the premiere journalists in this sport. Early goals from Joseph Paintsil and Dejan Joveljić were just enough to ward off RBNY's attempt at a comeback. Sean Nealis did score for the losing side in the 28' but the match became a stalemate the rest of the way. The Galaxy overcame the injury loss of Riqui Puig and came out firing on all engines scoring both of their goals in the first within 13 minutes. This is the 6th MLS Cup title for the L.A. Galaxy, easily the most storied franchise in MLS history.
