The Inspirational Country Music Awards are a breath of fresh air in a market that is crowded with hard-partying drinking kinds of songs...or what you typically hear on the radio. The ICM Awards take a different spin on things, honoring artists, songwriters, and industry people in Christian and Country music who are making a difference. Big winners from the evening included Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, and Scotty McCreery in the mainstraeam categories, and we had chance to catch up with many of the honorees before the big show. Here's Kelly Lynn out on the red carpet.
We kick off another Inside Music Row with the mention of Taylor Swift as she will be releasing a new fragrance from Elizabeth Arden "Wonderstruck Enchanted." The new fragrance is described as an Oriental Gourmand and will be in stores nationwide in October. Justin Moore is also in the news as he is the very first artist to partner with Cabela's, the world's foremost outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear. Also, Bucky Covington has teamed up with Shooter Jennings for a new duet called "Drinking Side of Country." Look for the track on Bucky's sophomore album "Good Guys" out September 11th. We also mention the Inspirational Country Music Awards as they are now set for October 18th at Nasvhille's Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Finally, we go Inside The Song with James Otto who co-wrote a song with Zac Brown and Wyatt Durrette that Zac included on his 2010 album - "You Get What You Give."
Lee and Elaine Roy have had one heck of a year. They’ve been on a mission trip to Columbia, South America…they’ve performed on the Jerry Lewis Telethon…won Duo of the Year at the Inspirational Country Music Awards…and they now have a new record label to help launch their latest project. As great as 2010 was for the Roys, 2011 looks to be even brighter. You can get that new music from the Roys when their album is released on Rural Rhythm Records this Spring.
