This week we talk to Gareth Conyard, Deputy Director of the Developing Teachers and Leaders Division of the Department for Education, and Jacqueline Gilbert, Deputy Head at Park View Community School about the Early Career Framework (ECF). First and foremost Happy New Year! Be Safe and Healthy wherever you are! 2013 New Year's Day Live Set (3 hours long beware before you on a mobile device and pay horrendous charges) Straight from the mixer, a 3 hour soulful, vocal and funky house extravaganza with all your favourites from 2012 and late 2011. It was sunny, on the early afternon of NYD, we were on our roof top, with a makeshift stand for the gear made out of an old plot printer from work, powered speakers just bought from the pawnbroker down the road and surrounded by close friends with whom we always try (rain or shine) to spend the first day of the year.. It had the feel of an original "House Party".. Above all, I wanted to avoid the disaster of last year, and I, therefore, selected the very, very top shelf of my vocal house (hand)bag House.. Nothing groundbreaking, all overground> This was not the time to be "clever"... The aim was to get my friends to come to me and say "oh I love this one", "this is one of my favourite", or "what is that? I love it".. well.. it might not have been underground and there were no edits nor acapellas, but I think I did achieve what I attempted.. We had a GREAT New's Day and this very simple, happy set made the Freemasons' one dimensional set later on very bearable. Greek Sessions: The Sounds of Σπέτσαι (Happy Birthday Vivienne!)   Viv’s birthday set, which means that my only objective was to mix tunes she would know and /or like "a la premiere ecoute". Pour yourselves a margarita or two, clear up the deck or  living room, for I bet that at some stage within the set you will either sing-along or have a bit of a dance. Happy House: a blend of soulful classics and funky current grooves. Very little if any acappellas as Viv hates them, just pure simple joyful music. A word on the Intro: Spetses, greek island in the Aegean sea, .where only taxis are allowed and one either walks, cycles or takes a horse carriage ride around the island. The Greek Sessions: Poolside in Santorini  First of 3 if all goes to plan. Not my most polished upload, it would need another two night sessions of Love and Care but it is not going to happen...I got tired of it by the time the Olympic started and as my close friends would know, I am strenuously competing in the Armchair event..  Pool side mix, going from 120 to 126 bpm, full of goodies, full of edits but sloppy at times. As to "Call My Name", DJ Meme cannot do anything wrong.. I still remember an event in Melbourne, where he kept us going for 3 hours, as a warmer for Dimitri from Paris, whom (patriotism aside) brought everyone to sleep in 20 minutes flat.. Not really promoting hard this set as a must hear/download.  It is now out of my system and I can go back to the TV and watch some more Olympic before Sunday.. Allez France!!  Xtian
